  • When I did Insanity I would start it at the very beginning of the video (so yes I include warm up and cooldown) and I stopped it once the workout was done. I'm kinda OCD though so if I paused it and it said 47:46 I would continue it until it rolled over to a full 48 minutes, lol.
  • I had 3 cups of cut up watermelon with lunch yesterday and that was only 138 calories. 380 calories is a LOT of watermelon! I would be totally stuffed, lol.
  • I eat at my desk every morning, I have to be at work by 7 and I eat breakfast at 9 so I'm not starving by lunch time at noon. I usually have one cup of strawberries (I buy a big bag of pre sliced frozen from Sams club but you can get any kind of frozen fruit you like) and half a cup of low fat cottage cheese. I put the…
  • I had the same problem in the beginning. I had to lose over 30lbs before I was able to fully go down a jean size. My belly stays pooched out but my hips/waist are getting smaller but not by much. I've lost 54 lbs so far and I'm only down a total of 3 sizes so yeah I have that issue too. I've heard the belly is the last…
  • Everything this person said. I usually workout before vs. after too because they say no strenuous activity or lifting anyhting heavy after you donate.
  • Like the previous poster said I used a HRM, I have a Polar FT7. I liked putting the calories burned down on the calendar too once I completed a workout, just to give me an idea of how hard I was pushing myself in each workout compared to the last.
  • Thanks everyone! I feel the same way, my cardio is insanely better than before, I've even seen my resting HR as low as 45, BP 99/50. That's why I have now moved on to heavy lifting. Now it's time to tone up and get strong :)
  • 45 minutes to an hour. I use the outline of Jamie Eason LiveFit trainer. I'm doing the 12 week program right now (not the diet but I'm using MFP to count calories and macros). So I just keep my phone with me and look at what exercises I have for that day and how many sets/reps I have to do and it even has videos for each…
  • Prenatals. They're actually very good for any/all women of childbearing age. I take them especially because I was either pregnant, breast feeding or both from Nov 2008-January of this year so my body has a lot of lost nutrient repair to do. I take Biotin and flaxseed also.
  • Greek yogurt, nuts, milk, peanut butter, beans, tilapia, shrimp and tuna are my go to's for protein.
  • I think your arms look great! Very strong looking shoulders too :flowerforyou:
  • McDonalds isn't all bad. I like their smoothies, a small is about 200 calories. The classic grilled chicken sandwich with only lettuce, side salad and a diet coke is less than 500 cals. And the egg white McMuffins are pretty comparable to the Jimmy Dean Delights around 200-300 calories each, with a coffee that's an OK…

  • Oh and I only have one pair of sneakers and they are covered in color dust from my 5K color run so they match everything

  • Nope, I strive for clean, lol. If I have a clean pair of pants, clean sports bra and clean shirt I'm good to go, lol

  • Can you pump and give it to her in a bottle or sippy cup? My son weaned at 9 mos but that was because he started becoming more mobile, less interested in cuddling/nursing, my supply got low because I got pregnant with my second so I started supplementing with formula and mixed it with what little milk I could pump out for…
  • I nursed mine to 24 months and I just wanted to say this post is AWESOME. Great job everyone!! I myself could lose no weight and actually gained quite a bit while nursing for 2 yrs :blushing:
  • This is soooo inspiring and just the motivation I need to keep going with my new plan! Thank you!!!! I just started lifting weights this week. I'm following the workouts from Jamie Eason LiveFit program and I like how she has videos for every workout she has you do so that I know what I'm doing and I can watch my form. I…
  • Congrats! You're over halfay there! I thought about this just yesterday when I was doing squats with a bar for the first time. I was kinda bummed that I could only do the bar (about 45lbs) but then I realized that my 3 yr old son weighs 47lbs and he is HEAVY when I have to pick him up and carry him anywhere. I imagined…
  • I've answered a lot of these threads and I love passing on my thoughts on Insanity because I really loved doing it. I was 207 when I started (I'm 5'7") but I didn't start from the bottom, I started losing weight at the beginning of this year using Just Dance 4 and watching my calorie intake, I weighed 240 at the beginning.…
  • I almost forgot one of my homemade faves! A little bit of sour cream and salsa mixed together. Very yummy! [/quote] I eat sour cream with picante sauce on my grilled chicken breast, mmmmm and only 55 cals!
  • I found this one and I am in LOVE with it. I always used to be a ranch, french or Italian dressing girl and it took me a while to find something low cal and low sodium that I liked. This is definitely it. You can get it in the grocery store or Walmart. Olde Cape Cod Lite sweet and sour poppyseed dressing. Don't let the…
  • I get up at 5:30 am and experience the mid afternoon crash too. Every day at 3:15 before I leave I eat a Chobani greek yogurt. Not low in sugar but there may be lower sugar alternatives out there. Maybe some cottage cheese and chives with a small serving of almonds?
  • You should aim to lose 2lbs a week at most for healthy weight loss, that would equal 12 lbs. I don't see 30-40 as possible. Sorry.
  • Naked and Bolthouse Farms make lots of nutritious drinks and you can get calories in that way too. Or chocolate almond milk. I like Naked Green Machine, Bolthouse Farms carrot juice and eat a snack with it like whole wheat crackers and cheese or peanut butter. Or just lift heavy weights, that always gets my hunger going.
  • By the end of week 5 (after recovery week) I weighed 196 so I was 11 lbs down and I had lost and inch and a half in my waist, an inch in my hips and an inch from my arms. Month 2 is where the magic happens though, you get sore all over again and your waist and hips really start cinching in and your back and shoulders get…
  • YES!! I started out at 240lbs I'm 5'7", I started slow, doing Just dance 4 for a few months 30-45 minutes a day, lost about 25lbs then I moved on to Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred, it's a good beginners workout because there are levels and its only 25 minutes a day and it's free on You Tube or $10 in the store, all you need…
  • I was 207 when I started, I'm 5'7". I have a full time job, 2 toddlers, I'm married and help take care of my sick mom. If I could find the time and energy to do it, anyone can! If you're feeling sore just get up and take a brisk walk around the block, that will get your blood flowing and your muscles primed. Insanity has…
  • Love my George Foreman! Best kitchen appliance ever and yes I've used it to make paninis, grilled cheese and breakfast sandwiches.
