• Have you met my other half?
• Your title had me singing that Lit song to myself 'My own worst enemy' - good song. Maybe write down your thoughts and feelings now and when you start to slip read through them?
• Is it possible? Yes. Is it recommended? No. Having said that, 12-1400 cals per day isn't dangerous and you are working out sensibly too, so rather than focusing on a stone in 1 month (what happens after that month?) just think to yourself I'm doing all I can to be healthy and to lose weight, so whatever I lose is a bonus…
• People with knee pain from Insanity should try doing it barefoot - modern running shoes could be the cause of your discomfort! Shaun T himself advocates barefoot training: http://shauntfitness.com/insanity-shoes/
• I mainly use these two: Spartacus epic workouts (brilliant - a free app for the Men's Health Spartacus workout) Tabata timer
• I personally don't agree with this - if I don't exercise I don't lose weight, although diet is the primary thing. I think exercise is for health and fitness IF you eat back your exercise calories (which is pointless from a weight loss perspective when you think about it!)
• Eating too many calories for weight loss, its that simple. The guide is exactly that, a guide and 2100 calories is what I would eat normally to maintain. I recommend you drop that to 1700-1800cals. I lost 1.5 stone doing Insanity by eating around that mark plus having a cheat night every Friday, so it definitely does work!
• Lift now - numbers on the scale aren't the only thing that count. Yes the weight may increase, but your body composition will be much better in terms of muscle to fat ratio and you'll look a lot better. Plus lifting is awesome.
• I always prefer lifting first then cardio, to make sure I have sufficient energy to execute my lifts properly.
• Chipotle? (I'm in the UK but I ate there when I was in the US last year and loved it - allows you to select your ingredients so you can tailor it to your needs)
• Here are a few I use: Whole earth peanut butter - either on oat cakes, celery or just a spoonful when you have a snack-attack Mini babybell light Peperami Natural yoghurt with nuts and/or berries Glass of milk Rolled up slice of turkey or ham Jerky
• Any of the meaty fishes make great stir frys - tuna, swordfish, marlin, shark. Cube the fish, fry it like chicken (although not as long), add various veggies, some low sodium soy sauce, some straight to wok noodles and chow down after a few minutes! Delicious.
• Well done on quitting, sadly its much easier to quit smoking than it is to lose weight! I'm not saying that to de-motivate you, I hope this will prepare you for the challenge ahead (I wish someone had given me a similar piece of advice!). Good luck with the weight loss now, fore-warned is fore-armed!
• Haha glad its not just me that likes them! I'd never even heard of a pie sandwich before lol surely you know you're over-eating if you have pie sandwiches?!
• Looking good well done
• +1 For it to be HIIT you would need to either take a rest or do lower intensity work between those sets so that your heart rate goes up and down during the workout. Sounds to me like its more intensive cardio?
• Yep, it does state that in the article but it also says that (like you) it allows people to monitor what foods/activities affect their weight. As you say thought don't let it de-motivate you.
• Actually, a recent study shows that people who weigh themselves everyday are more successful in losing weight as they're on top of any fluctuations and adjust accordingly, so don't worry about it too much  Here's where I read this if it helps: Weigh Yourself Often Time was, experts said to stay off the scale—it can…
• Quitting smoking was much easier than losing weight IMO. I quit cold turkey and never looked back after 7 years as a smoker, but I lose weight then gain it back :frown:
• Yes :( although I'm working hard to be in the 3%!
• Can you not just fuel your workout with a banana or something small, then have breakfast after your workout? When you say you can't train fasted as it affects your productivity, what exactly do you mean - you don't workout as hard?
• I like "Sweat is fat crying". But generally I go by Jason Statham's motto - "Go hard or go home!"
•
Well, at least women roulette sometimes gets you some. Totally worth the gamble. Also, I don't see any real ripping apart just opinions and personal experiences with weight loss comments and reasons why some people might not comment
True lol  Pages 1 and 2 someone jumped on her back for speaking…
• Except there are 5 bullets in the revolver, not just one  OP, you'll find there are lots of people on MFP that just comment to rip people apart, they don't actually care what the subject matter is. Try to ignore them :flowerforyou:
• Work through DOMS IMO, your body will adapt. Swimming is a good call though after your weights session.
• I didn't bother with it. I just cleaned up my diet, ate 5 real meals per day and had cheat meals on Friday and Saturday nights plus a few beers (this was before MFP, before people jump on me for 'cheat' meals). I still lost 1.5 stone this way.
• So basically, everyone has swapped food as their addiction for MFP...lol

• All my workouts are tabata based, except for my cycling to and from work. I love it as it kicks my a55 (in a good way) but it doesn't take forever. Here's yesterdays kettlebell workout as an example (all tabata): 2 handed swings snatches left/right cleans l/r Burpees dips/press ups 2 handed swings 24 mins (plus brief rests…
