There was an article about this in Men's Health a couple of years ago with suggested split cardio routines to maximise fat loss. The idea being that you ramp up your heart rate (and, briefly, your metabolism) twice per day. It was based upon studies I seem to remember but like I say, it was a couple of years ago now so I…

Man I want pizza for lunch now
-
That's fine if you only want one slice... I want a pizza. All of it lol. I just work around it OP. ETA: most pizza slices in the US are a lot bigger than in the UK, so this isn't as greedy as it sounds!
-
Didn't actually know it was water resistant, I always take mine off to shower lol. But then, I don't walk in the shower so its fine lol
-
Don't wait or you'll just get DOMS again as bad as the first time. Repeating the workout actually helps as it allows blood to flush the affected muscles.

I do hill sprints 2-3x per week and it's a great workout. I do leg swings forwards and side to side each leg first, followed by some walking lunges and groin stretches. I then do a warm up run up the hill at 60% intensity then again at 80%. Then I do the following workout: 3xsprints walking down the hill as active rest…

1000kcals for a grown man is frankly ridiculous and even dangerous. Eat more, move more, lift weights, lose steadily and then you won't look so ill.
-
Paragraphs please that was very difficult to read! Beachbody do good programs (I did Insanity myself) but 21 days is too short for you to lose much fat as opposed to water weight and to give you healthy habits going forwards. I guess that's why people didn't like it.
-
Cool story bro.
-
Ideal weight no, but there is a weight that each of our bone structures look good at, and it won't be the same for everyone. I do also agree that it is used as an excuse "I'm just big-boned" or whatever.
-
Forgot to add, you could also try hill sprints - awesome workout! Google has lots of programs for you to follow.
-
It sounds like you're like me - despite knowing that its 80% diet, you need a challenging workout plan to keep you motivated. I can't just diet alone and steady state cardio is my idea of hell. It sounds like you want a fixed program and there are loads of programs out there like the ones you mention - Insanity Asylum,…

I think that photo of the 5lbs vs 5lbs is amazing and so motivational
-
Her hands are freaky. I would guess the answer to your question OP is chronic under eating.
-
The problem is you don't eat like that everyday right?
-
I would agree with this, we always sat at the table as kids. Me and my fiance don't have kids yet (well, we have our dog) but I would like to think we will do this when we do. It has nothing to do with portion control though.
-
I agree with this, I always pre-log so it makes no difference
-
I eat on the sofa (well off of a tray) and don't think it makes a difference. Saying that, our living room/dining room is open plan so even at the table we put the TV on lol!
-
Fair point, eat lots of nice fresh fish then!
-
Can I just say, since the fillets are flash frozen shortly after being caught, they're actually nutritionally 'younger' than the fresh stuff you buy :)

Damn this thread, I now want peanut butter and I'm at work with no access
-
LOVE peanut butter. I buy Whole Earth Organic no added sugar crunchy (I'm in the UK) and eat it all the time. I just make it fit into my daily allowance and its all good.
-
I actually think body recomp is exactly what you need you just don't know it lol (not meaning to be rude). If you get skinnier at your weight you'll be losing muscle as well as fat - you'll be weak, tired and probably still not happy with how you look. Whereas a good weights routine with an increase in calories will give…

Don't burst our bubbles, men think all women's locker rooms involve women walking around naked.... I used to hate the bro's in groups of 113 standing around one machine taking turns so that no one else could use it for the entire day.
-
Definitely. Buy some kettlebells and have at it!
-
I love kettlebells, and yes serious results can be had from them. I have my own and design my own programs. As the exercises are strength and cardio based in one, they burn tons of calories. Form is all important though, make sure your trainer assists with this!
-
They weren't being immature or rude, they're just pointing out the fact that 1200 calories for a 19 year old male is far too low, especially if you play 'soccer' and run a lot like you say. Also, if you do want to build muscle you'll have to increase your calorie intake significantly. As others have said, look into…

Lift heavy weights. See this article for results and an explanation why: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/
-
Does he workout? If so, that is far too few calories for a big guy like him!
-
I do hill sprints as cardio. I don't feel like I've worked out unless it's at very high intensity and I can think of nothing more boring than running at the same speed for endless miles (I used to do it, never again).
