I have been on and off low carb for about 6 months after losing 90 pounds calorie counting and I can say for me, low carb definitely makes me feel 1000 times better than strictly calorie counting for a year did, and the science behind it makes sense to me. The biggest issue people have with keto/low carb is going into a…

Do research because there’s allot to it. is it safe absolutely, and once you get over the first big hump it’s extremely easy and helps drastically in weight loss, but no it is not “a magic cure”. It still follows cico, biggest difference is less of an appetite so your less likely to overeat.

So not arguing with you, genuinely asking.. my understanding is a Keto Diet is burning fat instead of glucose for fuel, and if you have too much protein your body will convert it to sugar, therefore essentially treating it as a carb, ive read multiple books and more web pages than i can count that all state this. Am I…

I know one thing the doc mentioned was when it comes to things like coffee the whole point is to drink it quickly to warm your stomach, even if the beverage is hot sipping on it will not have as large of an effect as downing it. I’m playing around with it a little bit and it seems to work so far, satiety has always been by…

It's all a numbers game. Start out eating a little bit above your Maintence. Maybe 200 calories more than Maintence. If you don't see any noticeable muscle gain in a few weeks, up it to 300-400 over Maintence. If you notice fat gain drop your calories back down a bit... It's not an easy process at all and IMO much harder…

General rule of thumb seems to be eat back about half of your exercise calories. So if your allotted 2000 from mfp and get 2000 extra exercise calories you should be around 3,000 a day. Try that method for a few weeks and compare results

I too can't even do a parallel body squat and I'm a pretty athletic and strong male, I am currently working with a trainer on it and the biggest advice he has had is to practice getting as deep as I can with proper form and hold it as long as I can, and just continue to go deeper or longer every time you do this and…

All you can do is keep doing what your doing and eventually it will come off, lifting will help a little but As stated you can't spot reduce, I intended to stop losing weight at 200 lbs but unfortunately still have a decent sized belly pouch and chest so 190 and still dropping weight until it goes away.

A week in Vegas... 10 pounds gained in the week than after two weeks of eating at a deficit I'm still +6 from where I was before Vegas so it wasn't just water weight... But damn was it worth it lol

Weight loss = numbers dropping on a scale due to losing fat, muscle, or both. Cutting= attempting to lose fat while keeping as much or all of your muscle.

Thanks everyone for the replies I knew I wasn't the only one to binge like that. After hearing your stories I'm curious to see how much of it really is waterweight, I'll post this Saturday when I weigh in after a week of normal diet. I will say one thing drop 100 pounds and basically completely stop drinking and when you…

I started at being able to do 2 sets at 45 seconds I'm now able to do a set of 2 min, than 2 sets of 1 min but I stopped doing the plank... I should get back to it, it's a good workout :)

Just gonna repeat what has already been said... Doesn't matter how much you workout if your diet isn't right your not going to see any changes, that being said stronglifts 5x5 is a perfect beginner program that will lightly introduce you into weights. Don't worry about people at the gym they don't pay any attention to you…

Your body will tell you what is a correct calorie consumption for you no matter what anyone tries to say. It's unhealthy to just say "im going to eat 1100 calories a day no matter what my body tells me." If your feeling good, not feeling weak or nauseous, and overall don't feel like something is wrong than stick with what…

My wife has been a member since November and literally goes 6 days a week every week, has made allot of new friends, and brags about it to everyone and tries to convince people to join all the time, she can't say enough great things about it. I tried a complimentary class and it was great I really enjoyed it and I received…

I meal prep once a week all of my chicken and portion it out into small baggies, than eat chicken different ways every night with a can of veggies and a sweet potato, makes life simple and easy

I either use natures own 40 calorie breads or Sara Lee 45 calorie multigrain bread, my theory is I would rather eat two low calorie sandwiches for lunch than one much higher calorie sandwich it's just a nice trick on the eyes to help me be more full

I love optimum nutrition whey protein. Cookies and cream with low fat milk tastes delicious but I wouldn't recommend it in water , any of their chocolate proteins taste great in milk or water. The only flavor I would stay away from is their salted Carmel... No Bueno.

I used to drink almost every night, on weekends sometimes to way to much excess, since January 1st of last year I've prolly drank 6-7 times (holidays or birthday are about the only times..) and I'm down 90 pounds (much more involved than just not drinking), and on top of that when I do drink now it only takes a 10th of…

You just have to come to terms that the science of weight lifting is real and even if you don't want to believe it it applies to you. You WILL NOT get bulky eating 1200 calories a day, you could lift 500 pounds and not get bulky eating 1200 calories a day, so one of two things happened you felt like you were getting bulky…

I love the plantronics backbeats, if your still looking to go wireless they are the best out there imo, yea when they battery dies there's nothing you can do, but I just make sure to charge mine every couple workouts so the battery stays charged, sound quality is decent but they are a million times more comfortable than…

I spend 3 weeks out of the month in a hotel not near my gym usually, and have lost 90 pounds making it work... It's all about your mentality. If you go there saying your gonna fail and don't have options, you will fail. If you go there and are determined not to mess up your hard work you will find ways to succeed, rather…

I was in the same shoes as you around November after losing 80 pounds I hit my weight goal but still needed to drop fat. I tried the recomp route for about 3 months and I personally didn't see hardly any results besides lifting heavier weight, so now I am trying the bulk and cut method and it's been about a month and I…

Mine is the VERY occasional buffet.... I (now) eat healthy 90 percent of the time and am very controlled on what I eat, even when going out to dinner at restaurants most of the time I make pretty smart choices, but put me in a Chinese buffet or a buffet like Golden Corral... And I end up with something like a 4,000 calorie…

Got some great recipes from here I'm gonna have to try!!! I just buy the starkist tuna packets and put it on Sara Lee multigrain bread... Combined it's 170 calorie snack that is pretty filling. When you add a small bag of chips or protein bar you've got lunch!

As other said its best to do baby steps... I started with only paying attention to calories consumed for months, didn't care how or when, than moved to exercising more to get a bigger deficit did that for months, than learned how to manage my macros and now I'm starting to pay more attention to micros and meal timing. Only…

I started at 280 January of 15 and am down to 190, still feel like I'm way bigger than people that weigh way more than me, going from 47 percent body fat to 27 percent body fat in a year has made me realize my success thou, and by next year I plan to be around the 15 percent mark
-
+1 for plantronics backbeat fit... Had mine for over a year and have tried many others such as the beats, and jay it's x2 and I continually go back to my backbeats

I meal prep chicken, I travel for weeks on end so once a week I'll cook up about 5 pounds of boneless chicken breast and break them down into 6 ounce portions and have them, last about a week than do it again. I also keep sandwich stuff for lunches but don't prep the sandwiches or they will get soggy

Depends on what I'm doing... For some reason if I'm running I prefer rock like ffpd or disturbed usually, but when strength training I get more hyped up with lil Wayne or other rap, not really sure why lol
