Theoretically you ought to burn less calories as you drop lbs/gain muscle and become fitter but using my heart rate monitor I seem to burn virtually the same amount of cals for the same exercises as I did 3 or 4 months ago when I first got the HRM. When I go to zumba for example I still burn 350-400 cals, same as I did…

7/9: rest day, nada 7/10: 1520 (polar FT7 HRM, 3 hrs of yard work for ~1000 cals, 1 hr hiking ~500 cals)

oh holy lord... you guys I got up at noon, hungover, and I'm still dragging my butt around the yard and even contemplating still running trails this evening. All for you guys! I totally would have crapped out today if it weren't for that challenge. I'll post my burn later tonight but thanks for the motivation!

I post what I log on MFP, except yard work. I only log half the yard work on MFP but I post it all on here.

7/8: 794 (polar FT7 HRM, 6 mile run, 78 minutes) Bummer it wasn't a long run day! Backpacking is out for the weekend, too hot. Just heard a friend died from heat stroke yesterday fighting a wildfire. Has me spooked. I'll stil shoot for a 1500 cal burn on sunday though. Either in the yard or maybe I'll go run trails.

Yes and yes!

Idaho is 36th! Suprised we're even that high honestly. I don't know where we're hiding our fat people... I only seem to see the fit ones around.

Oh yeah, you will have no problem!!

Papa murphys breadsticks. Impossible to not eat the whole thing. Something like 1700 calories and I don't even want to think about how much salt...

Myfitnesspal is designed for you to have an automatic daily deficit in your calories. Therefore anything that you burn outside of your normal activity (ie exercise that you log) you should eat those calories back. If you choose not to eat them back you may end up with too big of a calorie deficit which can, over time,…

Sa-weet!! I was going to do my 6 mile run tomorrow but I'll wait til friday. Supposed to be cooler anyway, that works out nice. Sunday will be a big burner for me, over 1,000 for sure, probably 1,500-2,000. Going hiking or backpacking, weather will decide which. I won't be able to log til late that night though.

You're doing great!!! The only weak links are those who aren't participating at all.
-
You can throw on another 331 for me for 7/6! Spending an extra hour in the yard, allllmost done with a big project
-
ditto. I eat back every exercise calorie and I'm steadily losing.

The HRM is giving you an estimate of what it thinks your max/min heart rate is, but everybody is different. I like the talking rule b/c its less subjective. Can I talk and run? I'm good. Breathing so hard I can't talk? I slow down. I'm not talking about delivering a soliloquy, just a "hi my name is.." I've found I can…

I'm slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! 12 miles takes me 2.5-3 hours.

Well these are a little old but I love the motivational pic threads so here they are again! Green sweater: ~225 lbs in May of 2010. Blue shirt: ~185 in May 2011. I'm down to 175 now but don't have any new pics to share, unfortunately! I am 5'7 and have been losing weight since late July of last year. Been on MFP for 3 or 4…
