I don't have any suggestions that haven't been covered but I gotta say I'm totally impressed with the real helpful answers on this thread! I read your post and thought "uh oh... the next post is going to be about how she should just eat a steak..." Pleasantly surprised. High five MFP!

Wow. Just wow.

Yep! I've gone from a cup and a band size down to a 36DDD. They're definitely less full, which is a bummer, but I'm glad they're going anyway.

eta: in progress! 225 to 175ish.

Oh man, thank you so much for not saying journey...

If you're lifting and eating at a calorie deficit you should lose weight still. To gain significant muscle you need to eat at least at maintenance. BUT when you work out hard you retain more water. I had that issue after really long runs. If that's your issue just drink more water and wait it out. ETA, and yeah, for sure…

During! 225 to 175.

No, literally it's against the rules to be on this site if you're under 18.

huh! that makes sense too, actually. I was going to add that real food keeps you full longer than whey as a plus in the real food column, but getting protein to your muscles right after you just spent a lot of time breaking them down also makes sense.
-
I asked my trainer the same exact question and got the answer everyone else is giving you: protein is protein is protein, for some people/situations it's just easier to use whey powder. I keep coming back to try the powders and getting the same feeling as you- I'd rather have just eaten a ham and cheese omelet, or a…

I had a "friend" call me jabba the hut once. Out of the blue. No context.

True story: I quit Facebook after realizing how much better MFP is for my head.
-
I've started it before and quit (I was running a lot and that was my first priority) but I've started it again recently and will probably stick with it. So far so good, no results to report, I'm still on stage 1. There is a forum of people who are doing it, I'll go find the link and post it here. Here it is!…

With videos? Definitely. Actually I still feel a little uncomfortable in the weights section of the gym, I'm learning. My last gym was fine but now I live in a military/college town and the dudes over there are a little intense...

Bonus: A lot of 5K races have an under 12 category that doesn't have much competition. If you ended up taking him to a race he might end up placing in his age group which I can imagine being pretty darn cool for a 9 year old. Find a fun one with raffles and stuff. Good for you, man. F'realz.

You don't need a bench but a bar or hand weights with removable plates will be helpful. Regular hand weights are great to start with but you will eventually want to increase the weight. You're good to go to start though! Don't put it off. A ball and hand weights will get you going.

Weed is now legally prescribed in a number of states and completely legal for everyone in at least one state. Even if it isn't legal in yours that should give you a good baseline for how horribly scarily dangerous a drug it is. Many people use it for legitimate medical purposes and if they're smoking often they probably…

Wall sits, squats and lots of core stuff- sit ups, reverse crunches, flutter kicks, super mans, bicycles, planks. Also yoga, if I can force myself to do it, which is very rarely.

oh wow! fantastic job!

I worked there when I was 15 and had a woman in your situation come back at lunch to chew me out and tell me how I ruined her day. So, that's a viable option. Or you could just let it go and maybe pick up some bagels on the way home so you won't be wasting $7 and 700 calories on a "food like" product on a regular basis.
