I'm currently at 48% of TDEE an average, based on my daily 'computed' LMM hence the questions.

@rand486, do you dispute the existing of metabolic capacity? (not that I have it). Also, if not what is the maximum caloric deficit one can normally go on if you haven't any experience with dieting. By the way I haven't figured how to use the MFP built in calculators I use my own setpoints hence my question.

@kommodevaran it's best to read up on it to make sure it matches yorparticular situation. It's a little scary (and could be life threatning). I have to see if I really belive this stuff and tell my own mother to go off satins.. :/ imagine if I was wrong (for an unrelated reason) Touching on what you mentioned 'evolved to…

This is nice. I'm reading the cholesterol myth which includes this line of thinking. Recommended reading for anyone looking at reducing cholesterol. The evidence seems that everyone are watching the wrong thing. It's dis heart ing that 25% that are labeled high risk are still given drugs to reduce cholesterol. Thst isn't…

*deleted* didn't realize the person I was talking about has a ongoing condition.

That looks fantastic. what you mean 'mess' that's real food! lol

I haven't cooked in a long time, and never under dietary limitations. Here is spinach and rasberry salad with almond shavings, and a 'poached' steel head trout with wilted spinach a 1/4 a tomato and crimini mushrooms. No salt added. Total calories : 489 as shown.. heck where are your other guys calories! Low in fat and…

rabbtjb: I consider myself a newbie, I think the last time I did anything exercise was 6 years ago. I'll keep that timeline of 2 weeks. I just want a proper perspective, that timeline is coming up in 3 days so whatever the numbers will be my more official data. Fat scale is what I'm using and I realize how out they can be,…

Me too, you can practically eat anything as long as you are knowledgeable about what your body needs at any particular point in time. You can infrequently go to eat highly caloric ally dense food (up to your daily limit) but it's not a great trade off knowing you can't eat for the rest of the day. I don't like soya based…

Thanks everyone. There are multiple prechecks one has to do, nurtion, warm up, stretching cool down and even massage downs if you can get it lol all parts of the puzzle. lol

Thanks everyone. my intake is too low although I'm not and have not been very hungry (take it or leave it). I'll ramp it up to see if that helps. I'm on day 4 I"m okay now it's not aching or anything but I did just swim. Is Doms considered 'active' when you can barely move them? It gradually got better just took longer…

I know what the average is, Bodymedia and my own numbers keep track of that. I do have to focus more on averages but it's so nice when you reach that good number. I'll work on increasing that 1400 (it's actually 1550) to something more reasonable. Ramp up slowly.

58 RH is just on the lower end of what's normal. (60-100) Depending on what you have been doing exercise wise and have don that is determines your fitness level. All of these are just guidelines I love seeing the examples where a person who has actively had a bad heart rate and improve it through lifestyle changes.

@AliceDark, than you for your input. I'm realizing that all my physical measurements aren't accurate should be going up and down (like my overall weight has). I'm probably going to move to a moving average for results. Why is it important to eat about the same calories everyday? Does it average out anyway? I'm trying to…

TimothyFish: defiantely concer with exercising. I think statistically my BP is inkling down I actually saw a resting heart rate of 85bbm.. That was news for me. I’m waiting back on the EKG results but the nurse thinks it's fine but a Heart doctor is doing to double check just in case. SergeantSausage: and yes the heart is…

dopitup@dbmata: thank you I probably have more concerns than actual issues. It's impossible to over train at the rate I'm doing it. I'm just starting on day 10 and until my body stabilizes in the salt content (If it hasn't already) my weight will be what it is. Food wise I totally get it, it is all over the place, I think…

If a follow bodymedia, I"m doing 1300 in, 2560 in TDEE, leaving and average of 1100 From what I understand if I want to maintain ~1000/day, I should increase to 1800? So I don't starve and exercise for 3000? I'm a little unclear on that. Just to be clear I do have 'rest days' but I end up walking. Yes I'm working on the…

thanks so much for the input so far, I'm getting my heart checked out along with my liver, cholesterol counts and a ECG. I have a family history of cholesterol and heart issues so I'm going to continue what I'm doing. "moderate exercise" has been approved. ALthough I'm unsure what that is. Anything I do raises my heart to…

conofsu772: I'm curious what weight did you start at (from your ideal). 7lbs a week at what caloric decificit. and did you change change youprogram when you went to 3-4?
-
ullc316: you are welcome to see my blog/diet. all the details are there. Right now I realize the numbers I'm seeing are because I'm so new and unfit. I'm still learning what to expect and I have some medical stuff I have to look at. but I'm watching for signs of fatigue overwork under nutrition. IF you are allowed to look…

getting some tests done.. includes a EKG plus a bunch of other stuff. He seemed to think that exercise is never a bad thing, it's going to be a week before I get tests results. I guess I'll keep going. A large portions of my losses are just water. so boo hoo on that. lol. My heart rate is elevated just walking around so…

I have access to an ihealth blood pressure cuff (not finger based) so I don't know if that can be off (consistently) I've also have exercised with a mio alpha and it's about the same RH.
-
Actually from what i read if it's not normal for me then it's to be concerned. a resting heart rate can be okay up to 100. I can mention that on my next talk with a dr.
-
actually It's wanting to lounge in bed because it's so warm. I don't know if I'm over sleeping when I do
-
hahaha, yeah it warns people about that. People love to sleep. Do you know what 'sunday morning sleep' is? I"m curious if it's linked to how much sleep one gets
-
Thank you. I'll keep that in mind.
-
@bwogilvie, excellent clarification. I always base my effort on intensity and I think I'm doing enough change up to keep my body 'alert' so it can't really 'adapt' to anything.

I'm on day 2 and found out I have to change mine, but can't find it. anyone r to tell me wher it is?
