Tiffany, like many people who eat processed foods you have fallen into the trap where your body is addicted to the sugar intake. Processed food is designed this way. You have two choices try and fit in as much nutrient rich foods "clean" food and add add in a small enough amount of the bad food to fill your cravings. Or go…

the up3 is slowly trickling out and they have turned off a lot of the features that it's better just to get a up2 for a $70+ savings. The group I'm with is still waiting for first shipments.. I have a feeling it won't be worth the wait.

thanks everyone. Good advice all around.

Thanks for the explanation AllanMinster! unfortunately I I only have access to few weights and a universal machine, so I hope to make the most of that there.

Not tried it yet, but I think it's a matter of having the right mindset going in. One session really only gives you a hint of what it can do. The idea of losing sense of your body can be terrifying to some, freeing to others that allow you to relax or freak out. Someone who has one is currently going to test it against a…

I'm just beginning my strength training and I can immediately tell my left is a lot weaker than my right and simple exercises are activating the wrong intended muscles. I'm not sure if there is any other way to improve it other than keep to a low weight and focus on form till it gets better.

yopeeps02: what do you look for?

cwolfman13: this may be unrelated but how do you know when you are lifting 'hard' enough? I'm just beginning and never paid much attention to HR, but when I tried a really heavier weight then my HR shot up. Wouldn't that be better indicator that you are actually really working hard? I guess its simular to if you work out…

thank you. I'm not sure if I'm really lifting heavy enough. My priority is to keep good form which includes proper contraction and not use momentum to cheat.

The polar FT80 offers this a feature that is specifically addresses this. Many older old polar watches support Training load and is said to help know when you are under or over training and ready for races. There center piece has always been heart rate monitoring and the associated calorie burn and associated stress.

I echo a lot of the observations here. I didn't believe myself that it can't be that easy to lose weight if I just counted. But I did, and got a huge wake up call to what is a serving size was. Half a pizza is 1,400.. Nachos are at minimum 2,600 calories how could that be! I then was reminded that there are a lot of lies…

I've been more active and watching my weight, which probably helps reducing my resting heart rate a minimum of 10 points.. Conservatively I'm at 85rhr..

I've been calorie counting measuring for 80 days and I'm 60% to my target. I'm entering the dreaded last 10lbs to my target fat weight. I've been watching macros for the last 30 days and try to keep a minum 120gram of protien or more I'm 171.4 lbs now. I don't watch fats and carbs but I'd admit I consume more fat than…

Today was the first day I've exercised more than I have ever did. I think this is the exception to 'not eating back your calories'.. I burned over 3100 calories today walking 6 miles which had a mix of running. I ate 2200 which above my far and above my normal 1750 caloric intake. I'm careful with maintaining my caloric…

if we aren't talking about an habitual problem rather than a real desire for the taste you can go for this product. PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter Removes most of the fat (and calories) and you can season everything without worrying as much abou calories.. Peanut butter is a poor source of protein per calories. If you love it…

I can echo what I've heard about the surge, and say it has it's place and works decently. It has limitations so don't swim with it. The screen is outdated, the smart display is a nice plus. The display doesn't suit everyone (it's quite large). The GPS works well and the wrist base pulse is a bonus. I personally I feel it's…

sfowler1244: regarding the Basis Peak, I'd save your money as it's not reliable to be used more than a curiosity. It had a lot of potential but it's no longer a desired item. If you want to try it out I'd advice this service ;https://lumoid.com/products/wear which includes it if you must.. but you have been warned.

I recently acquired an amiigo. I'm a avid tester of activity trackers and in the last 75 days I've lost 14lbs with the aid of MFP and my trackers. Feel free to ask any questions.

All numbers need to be relative and must have a specific target in mind. Short term anything does nothing (including diets) It's true that 7000 calories (assumable as a caloric deficit) is too much but some can manage this short term but for most I wouldn't advise it. To lose weight you need a caloric deficit and enough…

agreed there. just want to measure something lol.
-
nakedraygun: yeah. have that on order but can't get to it yet >.<

guess it's all relative. I think the common stubborn parts are the tummy, lower back. Perhaps measure where you are worse.. I lost a lot in my arm as I was losing fat, but now I'm doing upper body work and they are growing. newbie gains lol.

It's april *sigh* and they are ust making changes to their app. lol

Bodymedia has been bought out by jawbone which is a fledgling company with it's own problems. Google is thinking of buying out jawbone. The UP3 by bodymedia looks like it's getting closer to release but it's 5 months behind schedule that's with preorders etc falling by the wayside. People are not happy with jawbone. People…

Assuming you have adjusted for stride length and put in appropriate specs regarding who you are to fitbit, I'd only regard it as a starting point when you use the device. No device is 100% accurate and it's more important to see the numbers relative to each other. You can try calibrating it by left and right dominant hands…

I'm a polar fan because I swim, you can get a M400 inc HR strap for around 160 new on ebay. But I'm still waiting on mine, to do an eventually review in a couple of weeks. If you are willing to carry around your phone then you could just use that.

I've been calorie counting to the gram about a month now. It's very much a reeducation. Where before a plate of nachos is now enough to serve 8 people; is eye opening. Mind you I know there is no way I could eat one serving and be satisfied so I use 2 servings and just keep counting the calories. I may be approaching this…
