When you increase the weight, you sometimes have to decrease reps at the start. Don't let injury halt progress. Great job.

It's all about intensity. Use the heartrate monitor to make sure that you stay well into target zone. Adjust speed and resistance accordingly. Don't forget that there are great videos out there (some found in libraries)- from Leslie Sansone to Jillian Michaels.

5'9" : @ 230 a tight 14; @ 209 loose/baggy 14 still couldn't get into a 12.

I am always amazed about the amount of "knowledge" about how to avoid excess skin. It is mostly age and genetics and probably a few other things, but I seriously doubt that lotion is one of them.
