  • I have to watch my sugar intake. I'm only permitted 40g/day MAX and I have to attempt to lean toward 20g. It's all what your body requires. I am not diabetic. I am not overweight. My body has a negative response to too much sugar (not allergy related). Just can't have more than 40g/day or I feel it. Thanks, everyone, for…

  • Love the Bento-style meals. Been making them for some 30 years. I created a Bento board on my pinterest account a while back. Seeing this thread has inspired me to take...cough cough...a few minutes to pin some more Bintos to my board. Y'all are welcome to visit, take, copy, repin, as many of them as you want...if you want…
  • Who is to say you have to eat specific snacks? I'm with RuNaRoUnD.... I eat whatever I have in the fridge. Protein fills me very well and suits my body. I can't eat more than 40g sugar/day. I have a potassium deficiency so I grab high protein, high potassium, low sugar foods. Fresh meats are great. Boiled eggs. I love baby…
  • The data from this link is 2003. I kept thinking about this and thought I remembered in my nutrition class 2 semesters ago that the U.S. was no longer ranked #1. So I went over to the World Obesity Federation website and found this: http://www.worldobesity.org/aboutobesity/world-map-obesity/ Someone has mentioned San…
  • Tialuna, I have been seeing Internal Medicine docs and a nutritionist regularly for several years now. Not saying I'm an expert but I have learned what foods do what to me. Just an idea of what to try..... 1. Drop your sugar to 40g/day or less. 2. Instead of the health bars, have a light greek yogurt. I have to have one a…
  • I feel so blessed. I am 6 years post up in June. Lost 200 lbs. (way too much). Have had a fight to put weight back on. I was approved for the lift and the batwings in 2011. But I was chicken to do it and cancelled. I'm back in the loop...mentally ready for this step. I'm nervous. I have my first plastics appt in 4…
  • Hi. Just got my fitbit and I'm really excited to be using it. I'm amazed at how well it integrates with MFP. I would love to have some friends in this group. I have tons of questions. I'm here in an attempt to begin working on large muscle group while maintaining my weight. It's a challenge...can't lose or gain...per Doc's…
  • Hello Ashley (and all).... I have been battling trying to gain weight for a few years now. I had the RNY Gastric Bypass surgery and lost 218lbs. When I got down to about 130, I was thrilled...but the weight kept dropping. I couldn't stop it. I was down to 102. I am 5'2". Way too thin. I understand how you feel, and you…
  • Hair loss is a normal result of the biological changes in your body. I was warned my hair would start to "thin" anywhere from 2 - 6 months following surgery and would continue until the body was able to maintain a healthy balance of proteins. At about 5 or 6 months mine started coming out. My thick head of hair became…
  • I have to eat every hour. What it's come down to with me is that I eat whatever I want. Breakfast was just too much for me today so I pushed it aside and wrapped it. I've been munching on it all morning. I'm getting protein throughout the morning and getting the nutrition I need. On an average day, however, I take Cutting…
  • Hello, all. I am available to mentor/support RNY post surgical individuals. I'm 57 yrs old and am being called by my docs at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego their "Poster Child". I had a RNY wls in June 2009. I lost from 320 down to 102 (horribly underweight). With constant monitoring and following some mighty fine…
  • Hi. I'm 57 and working on maintaining my current weight (I have trouble gaining). I'd really like to be in this group. Thanks.
  • Not knowing what you eat, a few thoughts...fresh produce, lower sugar intake to 20g or less, eat more often and smaller amounts. Remember fruits have a lot of sugar, so limit those but still eat them. Drink a lot of water. Hope it helps a bit.
  • Hey Steph. Looks like we are in the same boat. I had gastric bypass surgery 6 years ago and lost too much weight. My pouch never stretched so I'm still dealing with about a 4 oz capacity. The past couple of months I've been in and out of the hospital trying to figure out what's up...and finally, the 3 teams of docs,…
  • LOL. Hello, Sara. I am on my kindle and I hate typing on it so I was too lazy last night to post my story. I'll be more detailed later. I did post in the introduction board if anyone wants to read my story and why I am on this site. Thank you for the welcome.
  • Hi everyone! I am new to this group and just wanted tocheck in and say.... HI!
  • I'm not sure I'm posting this correctly...if not, HELP! LOL My name is Letrell. I had RNY in June 2009. Just approaching my 5 year mark. I reached goal of 135 at the 18 month mark and was just the healthiest I've ever been. Followed the diet to perfection...measuring, weighing, pureeing, you know the drill. I never cheated…
