I basically agree with mr_knight although I would add one additional dimension. Weight loss and physical fitness really takes a commitment of time, energy, effort, etc. For many of us, we allow life's daily pressures to get in the way and these goals are not prioritized. The day will come when that mindset changes and your…

Carrots, red peppers, pumpkin (actually a fruit though). Tomatoes (another fruit) straight from the garden :-) Pumpkin is great for pumpkin-coconut-curry soup :-)

You're right about that! I just did my calculations on the IIFYM site and it seems more realistic to me. Funny, even though I've selected the Miffin-St Jeor method for both I am getting drastically different numbers. I would stick with the IIFYM calculator. Thanks for the info; didn't realize there would be such a…

You might think of trying the TDEE method. That way your calorie intake can be relatively even throughout the week. Scooby's calculator (http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/) is useful to get you started with this. The TDEE- X% should reflect the amount of weight you have to lose. TDEE-15 to 20% if you…

Terrible way to go. I've heard of Optifast but had to look it up to learn more about the diet. The nutritional info and ingredients from the Optifast website are below. Overall you take in only 800 calories and only 70 grams of protein per day with no fiber. You are certainly going to lose a lot of muscle mass from the low…

Same for me. Please go to your doctor and have it checked out just to be safe.

Have some. I ate fried chicken for lunch yesterday. One piece with the skin, one without. I still lost weight today. Just track the calories and keep within your macro goals and you will be fine.

My routine usually works pretty well for me: I'm up most morning at about 4:30 and have a cup of tea first thing. I then do my workout and shower. By the time I'm dressed I'm ready for my breakfast and its about 7:00 or so. Breakfast is high protein and high fiber. I generally have a coffee with 1/2 scoop of chocolate whey…

Only 0.2 pounds lost this week. Better than nothing :-) Mayby I'll be into the 140's next week?? SW: 158 CW: 151.6 GW: 138 My tips (to myself mainly): 1. Log Accurately and Completely 2. Try to be conservative in calorie burn estimates 3. Don't eat back all of your exercise calories until you know that you can 4.…
