Also did Krok's EMOTM. I'm still shaking! OHP 6+2 ladder plus BW Squats 56 OHPs (6/8/10/12/14/6) plus 67 squats-- I was on round 5 before I couldn't go on. Used 30 lbs for the OHPs. I think I am going to feel this one later! Also, I did it unbroken.

Did the WOW this morning after lifting. I also used a 20 lb kb. I did hip-thrusters-no pushup but with the jump at the end. Burpees and I don't get along to well. Also, the hip thrusters were more like slow motion mountain climbers and I use pushup bars to help ease strain. By the time you are up to 10 burpees/hip…

Krok--can you explain the workout of the week again? Am I supposed to do this once during the week, or every day of the week, or every lifting day, or what? I am being kind of dense--I have been very busy at work and a big deadline looms tomorrow :-)

Okay, the gardening and biking finally caught up to me. I wasn't able to do my 105 lb squats. I stayed down at 95 lbs so I could achieve full depth. I am learning that form always trumps weight... Today's lifts: Squats 5x6 95 lbs OHP 5x5 51 lbs DL 1x5 95 lbs. I also did 20 minutes of mobility today for SISM!!

Thanks Krok! I think I will get a set!! ETA: Order just placed :-)

Our snow just melted so I hope we don't get anymore until the end of October!!! Imagine- six months of glorious outdoor running and biking :-) I am still working on my pullups but don't seem to be getting very far with them I guess I should really get those assistance bands--do they really help??

Hi everyone! I'm back from my week away and back to lifting (yesterday)! I really missed lifting but I think the break was good for me too. My left shoulder had been feeling a bit "wonky" but after this rest, it feels much better and stronger. I took the suggested deload on my lifts. All of my lefts felt good and slightly…

Who in the world would flag this????

I tried to post this am but MFP timed out and ate my post :-( Anyway, the baseline test definitely looks challanging! I think I need to see your video running through it so I know what all of the moves are. I have been thinking about my specific goals. I wanted to make them difficult, but not impossible to achieve. 1.…

Lift weights. Deadlifts, squats. Try a program like Strong Lifts 5x5 with whole body compound lifts. I have been lifting for ~6 months and it really helps!
-
Count me in!! I've just taken my first rest week in 5 months from lifting and am going to be back at it strong for the Summer!! Thanks Krok :-)

Okay!

Is there an MFP group for us as well? Or should we continue to post progress, etc on this thread?

Hi there--I just joined up! Looking forward to a great Summer of riding. I'll be logging miles with Strava.

:-( Pain is pain.

Not to forget the goblet squat.

I am going to try and get back to posting here. My house guests have finally left after a 6 week stay to close their family home after the death of their father. We enjoyed our time with them but having guests for 6 weeks definitely takes a toll...I managed to keep up with my workouts (they were my source of sanity) but…

You might also want to start with some lower intensity cardio to build up your endurance. Walk fast, run if you can, and/or bike.

A well-stocked pharmacy should have sugar free cough syrup.

I am in to month 5 of lifting now. I definitely feel stronger and although my form isn't perfect I am getting better. I also am seeing lots more definition in upper body --some in lower body but this needs to improve. This month I would like to incorporate foam rolling into my routine. Maybe 3 times a week would be good. I…

Made my goal with a few days to spare!

I believe it is impossible to entirely "quit" sugar.

Good on you :-)

If you have a garden plant a patch of asparagus. You will be rewarded with lovely fresh cut asparagus for the next 20-30 years!! There is nothing like asparagus straight from the garden! And the price can't be beaten :-)

First outside run of the year!!! Felt awesome :-) HAPPY SPRING!
