Was supposed to be a slow 12km today. Instead, i felt good and felt it was a day to break my 5km PB (standing since Nov 2011)... i actually got multiple PB's and completed the 12km's anyway.

Alright guys, I know you were waiting with bated breath to hear this: I finally went back and figured out my mileage for this month. Best I can figure, based on my sloppy reporting methods, I'm at 90.2/100 for the month.
That includes tonight's 3.8 mile run around the neighborhood after a few days off. I've been knocked out of commission by an astoundingly awful head cold that I picked up on that Frontier flying cesspool.
Makes me a little nervous, because I'm running my next half marathon in 3 days... Run the Bluegrass at Keeneland Racetrack!

Awesome! I've never run it before, but I'm looking forward to the course- have you ever run it?
I haven't run it before, but hear it is super-hilly. I'm not racing it though - I'm running a bit before and treating it as a long run for my marathon in 3 weeks.
The elevation map doesn't look too painful- 492 ft gain, pretty well spread out. Compared to the Flying Pig's half course, it looks more doable.
I was planning to treat it as a training run for the Pig, but now I'm waffling on whether to run the full or half in May, so I'm using this weekend to gauge my fitness, I guess.
Not sure what time you're shooting for, but I'll be out there in a Half Fanatics tee with cat-print armwarmers, and sunglasses that say MADNESS on the lenses - good luck, and run smart

@gabbo34 Yes we must be! My HM isn't until June, so I'm sort of ahead... which is yet another excuse that I use when I don't meet my training goals! And I NEVER bring the stroller for the long runs -- I always make sure to do those on the weekend so that my husband can stay with the little guy!0

Took my two northern guests out running in the heat and sun this morning. One made it for 3 miles, the other 4 (I let them set a pace that worked for them), and I did a quick loop at the end to hit my 5. Only 22 miles left to get to my goal.

Did a wonderful 3.2 miles in the dark tonight. That week of trail running in Arizona has done wonders for my pavement running. My two "easy" paced runs this week were the fastest I've done since I raced a 10k on New Years Day.
93.4/100 done.
I'm doing a short jog tomorrow, then my race Saturday.
@SonicDeathMonkey80 I went to pick up my race packet today (insert lengthy rant about not allowing race day pickup here) and drove some of the course- lots of rolling hills, but no lengthy climbs. Should be a fun one. Race expo, not so impressive.

Out today at a symposium for work so no time to check in and this group has moved so fast! 3 more pages that I will have to catch up on in the morning!
I was up and out for an early run this morning before I had to head out. Note this is the 2nd time in a week that I actually had to get up, run, shower, dress and be out the door. It has just solidified in my mind exactly why I work from home! :laugh: The run was a quick (for me) 6 miles before the winds and heat hit. Hope to do a similar run tomorrow morning and hopefully hit my goal. Strength training was awesome tonight - getting close to my goal to do lat pull downs with 100lbs. Did 3 sets unassisted tonight (5 at 100/7 at 85)!
