You will find that even ground beef, pork, chicken and turkey have to be very wet, very well chewed and eaten VERY slowly. At 10 months out I waited til I was very hungry and scarfed down some soft wet chicken too fast and barfed. All my food is on the soupy side. I stick to fish at restaurants

Make sure you are measuring and weighing your food. at 3 wks i slipped into grazing on yogurt and was eating way over my 600 calories a day. since you have to burn 2800 calories to lose 1 lb if you are off by 300 cals a day this can really delay your wt loss. if you have lost wt recalculate your BMR set at sedentary. mine…

I am at maintenance at 1350 calories a day, more if I exercise. I am at 150 lbs at 5'5". I stayed under 950 calories for 9 months to lose 104 lbs. I lost best at 850. I would usually stall if I ate at 950. It is all based on your metatbolism, activity and maintaining a deficit. I only lost 1 lb in May because I was eating…

I take 4 vita fusion multivite gummies , 2 viactive chews and 2 simply right 5000mcg chewable biotin per day and one 50,000 iu Replesta vit d3 chewable per month . My labs have always been perfect and this stopped all the nausea I was having with other pills. I do make sure to have food in my tummy, usually my morning…

For 6 months I would try to pass out when bending over to do planting and gardening. I felt soooo silly. My bp was in the 90's I started eating more salt and drinking more. Finally I stabilized. Though I still am careful if I am bent over for too long. Nearly fell down the stairs last night after picking up several bags I…

Out of hospital friday back at work Monday but I am self employed and completely in control of my day and mostly at desk. I was sore and exhausted but I would have been miserable at home.

I use this recipe You can sub in chick pea flour for the wheat flour and it will boost your protein. I use egg beaters instead of eggs and I use any bagged shredded cheese blend from the store. I'm not blowing that much expensive Parmesan on a pizza crust. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/summer-squash-pizza-crust/

I heartily suggest you go to your local post op support group. People who attend support group have the highest long term success rates. You may have already discovered that 90% of this whole process is you changing your relationship with food and only 10% about surgery. Surgery does NOTHING to cure food addiction. It only…

What also motivated me was the fact that if he couldn't do my surgery laparoscopically he would do the full incision. I had to sign the permission to do that. He wasn't going to wake me up and ask permission, neither was the insurance going to pay for 2 surgeries. I had to know going in that if he could not lift my liver…

Yes, time of month, constipation, hydration, activity level etc all affect how easy food will go down and how full I will feel.

No point in stocking up because what is tolerable now is likely to violently change! Seriously! Sure , I took the the chewables happily enough prior to surgery but after....we are not joking when we say force yourself to take your vitamins! I gagged my way thru til I was cleared for gummies. You have to double gummies…

I am copying an old post of mine to see if this answers your question As obese people we tend to medicate with food. When we are bored, sad, tired, happy, angry, grieving, broke, hired, fired, excited we eat. It is our default activity. In my opinion there are 2 rules to long term wt loss #1- you must love yourself 100% exactly as…

Support group is available forever for everyone, there is no time limit. many of our pts are a year out and now they are in maintenance and group helps them stay on track. when people forget they have a problem they are easy to slip back into trouble

This is a very common personality test to see if you are a good candidate for surgery. Medicine that is covered by insurance is outcomes based. if a surgeon does surgeries on inappropriate candidates and they are WLS failures this will result in the surgeon losing their contract with insurance companies as a provider of…

Feel hungry? After surgery? By the time I feel hungry I am in bigggg trouble! Something needs to go in every 4 hours. Not much. A cheese stick, a boiled egg, tbsp of pnut butter. A small 100 calorie item is all you need to keep the pouch from going nuts.

Do what thin people do. Have a glass of wine that they hardly touch, fill a plate with food and endlessly push it around only taking the tiniest nibbles. This is exactly what thin people do when they are watching their intake. Share later when you are more confidant.

You won't get bored unless you are unwilling to explore all the really great foods that you likely haven't been eating. These are my 2 master lists that I am developing recipes from. I choose foods from the lists and then go to Yummly, Epicurious, Alllrecipes, and food network to find 4 star rated recipes to try out and…

This!! Healthy eating is not an option in our house. My kid is allowed 2 foods that she doesn't have to eat or taste. Everything else goes down or there is nothing to eat. She has chosen tofu and sauerkraut. She does prefer raw carrots, mushrooms and broccoli to cooked so i am happy to oblige. I bless my parents that put a…
