I love this... I lost a whale's brain and my goal is to lose a 2-year-old ;-)

I'm 28, and after a break of a year (where I gained back about 5 of the 16lbs I originally lost), I'm back and looking for new friends :-)

hello from Bristol :-)

I've started treating my calorie goals as a weekly thing, rather than a daily thing. Makes life so much easier and from a pure mathematical (in-out) point of view works just as well. By all means go over every once in a while, especially if you enjoy it :-)

Why don't you open up your diary? A lot of people on here could probably help, but not if they don't know what you're eating.

^ this. My freezer is full of stuff. when you DO get time to cook, make extra. it makes me feel great to open the freezer and see a few things to choose from :-)

bump... anyone now it's the new year?

I'm in Bristol. Been here since July - 16lbs down, 7 to go. MFP definitely works better when you have a community to support you - so feel free to add me, I post little updates most days.

I also have a very sweet tooth. The below foods have made my weight loss possible... Sugar free jelly / jello - ~10cals per serving (contains aspartame, but I don't worry about that in small quantities) "mini milk" ice creams - 30 calories very dark (I like green and blacks 85%) chocolate - can only eat 1-2 squares as it's…

5'1.5" here. going for 120-125. will see how I feel when I get to 125 (I'm not far away now), may work on building muscle rather than the number on the scale when I get to 125. The day I see some tone on my stomach rather than just wobble is the day I'll know I've reached my goal :-)

get below 130lbs and stay under. I'm not far away actually. my goal is actually only 15lbs loss, but I told myself when I started I wasn't going to buy any more clothes til I was almost there. I've got a day off planned in London on November 7th and it would be amazing to be "allowed" to go shopping :-)

I make my own - bought my partner a panasonic beadmaker for christmas a couple of years ago and we've barely bought a shop loaf since. they look expensive but once you've gone like a year without buying a loaf you break even. For me the best thing is knowing exactly what's in there, you can put the ingredients into mfp…

It really depends on the workout. My kettlebell class is high intensity cardio, lots of quick reps - I started on 4kg and am just moving up to 6. If it's less cardio-based, slower fewer reps then you'll need something heavier. Would suggest you start light and only move up when it feels do-able otherwise you might end up…

welcome :-) I'm from Bristol - only need to lose 20lbs but doing it as gradual long-term loss to keep it sustainable and limit muscle loss. am about 40% of the way through (in 3 months, lol)

I'm from Bristol, I'm 5ft 1in, hoping to go from 142lbs to 120 - much prefer to have British friends as they're buying their foods in the same places and eating / finishing their days at the same time. So feel free to add me!

I agree with the setting a goal thing. Enter a race, then you've got something you HAVE to train for. For me it was a swim - 1500m in 30mins, it's getting close and I don't think I'll crack the time, but having the goal to aim for has really helped my general fitness training!

Another Bristolian here :-)

My gym doesn't open till 6:30am and I have to leave for work by 7:30. In theory it's easy enough but the main problem is that I then have an hour drive to work and can't wait that long for breakfast! What do you all eat in the morning? breakfast pre-workout, portable breakfasts for the commute, or eat at work later?
-
I think this is what I'll go with. There are tons of trainers in my area, I just need to find one that's going to give me something that's right for me.
-
Hmmm, I've looked at 30-day shred. I'm not really looking for a quick-fix, short-term intensive programme. Would rather incorporate something more sustainable, 1-2 times per week, that I can fit round busy life and keep up long term. Any other suggestions?

I got rid of my scales ankd use the ones at the gym. Two benefits, 1. I no longer weigh daily, 2. If I want to weigh in I have to go to the gym!

WOW, I've looked at your pictures and cannot believe you were 300lbs. That's so inspiring :-)
