  • I definitely think you are on the right track for what may have caused your dizziness. I don't do too well exercising unless I've had a bit of food about an hour before. And drink more water! That will help a bunch too. :) If it continues after doing those two things, then there might be other issues.
  • I think you're on the right track! :) I'm 4'8 and eating about 1450 calories. However, I do some pretty intense workouts three times a week and get some cardio/hiking in on off days when i have the time (which isn't often).
  • I'm 4'8" and started at 140, down to 123... goal is 110 or so? I started at the beginning of this year and have been doing TDEE - 15%, right now I'm at 1450 calories per day. I just got out of a plateau, but I think it was mostly my own doing... birthdays, bbqs and such. I'm starting to learn how to fit those kinds of…
  • Hooray! I'm glad you got some sleep last night. Give it a week or so to make sure it really and truly does. :) If not, I'm sure you will find something that works for you.
  • I just use soundcloud now adays. Full sets by dance music artists, I could spend hours listening.
  • Definitely second this! For some exercise is enough, for others medication can be necessary for either a short period of time or long term. Personally, I have some issues with my mental health and exercising as well as eating right has helped a lot. I'm less prone to episodes and am in general happier for longer periods of…
  • Eye masks are great! We aren't really supposed to get as much ambient light as we do sleeping, and if your phone is by your bed and that blinky light is going off, that might be causing an issue. Black out shades are also a good investment if you find out the sleeping mask helps. I'm also an advocate for white noise. It…
  • I'm also bipolar as well. Something that helps me A LOT is sleeping with an eye mask on. The ambient light really messes with my ability to sleep, and once I started using one I fell asleep faster and sleep longer. Also, make sure you aren't drinking any caffeine after noon. The effects of caffeine can last up to bed time…
  • I sense a programmer.... :) And I did want to add, good for you and your methods. These are the things that are working for me as well, and I feel they are the things that will contribute to long term success.
  • Woo, I'm an expert in this territory because I was wired shut for 7 weeks after a car accident. You can blend just about near ANYTHING (trust me, I had cheese burger through a straw). My favs that wouldn't require a straw: Cheesy tomato soup: - Canned tomato soup - Milk - Soft spreadable cheese to dissolve in the soup -…
  • Sooo, probably the shortest one here at 4'8! :) Started at 140 and I'm currently at 128.5. My goal is probably 110 ish? I don't know, I've always been a bit curvy. Currently working out 3 times a week and eating about 1400 calories.
  • ^This is amazing advice! Thank you bumblebreezy. :) I will second the part about making sure your job isn't going to aggravate your symptoms. I'm a programmer, some jobs are very stressful in my field due to deadlines and demands, some aren't. I tend to take the ones that have a good work life balance and less stressful…
  • Hey, I'm 4'8 and eat 1400 calories while working out 3 times a week. MUCH MUCH HAPPIER than when I ate 1200. So even for us shorties, more than 1200 does work.
  • I'm bipolar as well (diagnosed bipolar II rapid cycling). I was on meds for a while, but decided to get off (not recommended for everyone). Things that help me keep stable: - Exercise - Eating right - Keeping a good sleep schedule which includes wearing a sleeping mask to keep light out - Less alcohol (some say you…
