Great! Just enjoy, and don't go off too fast, you'll settle into a rhythm soon enough. That's my plan anyway - my first ever 5K is on Sunday!

I bought five pairs of (skinny - oh lord!) Gap jeans one size too small (I could do them up, but forget breathing). I bought them because they were on sale for about £7 each, then completely grew out of them within about a month. What a great saving that was!

My clothes were so tight on me, I should have been in at least a size bigger when I started, so yes it took a while to drop a size, given I had to shrink back through the clothes I was wearing first!

Nothing worse than biting into fruit and finding a worm... except biting into fruit and finding half a worm ;)

On the plus side I think we can safely say I won't be feeling the need to eat anything for the next few hours...

Took a leaf out of your book last night and just kept running, didn't look at my watch. Did a record distance for me, and at a good pace too, even though it bucketed down on me halfway through. Thank you for the inspiration. :)

Fantastic!

Love it - thanks for posting!

In for answers. All the estimates I've seen in the past look way too high. That said, I can eat like a pig on a week's live-aboard and still lose weight, so maybe there's something in it...

Thanks - I will look into that. As a vegetarian who doesn't like nuts, protein is a challenge, but one I'm prepared to take on!

Definitely see a doctor. My mum had a brush with it recently and it turned out to be a side effect of a blood pressure med she was on. Not saying stop taking meds, but definitely see a doctor.

OP would have to be very tall indeed for a weight in the 150s to be below a healthy BMI. I'm 5'7" and still 9lbs away from having a healthy BMI, and already I'm getting this from the in-laws. Sometimes if people are used to seeing you overweight, they just see the loss and not the actual end product, and it looks like a…

Just quoting lyrics here but: Don't waste your time on jealousy; Sometimes you're ahead, Sometimes You're behind. The race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself. I totally understand where you're coming from. I have a difficult relationship with my sister too. The race IS long. You are doing this for yourself,…

That's great to hear - well done! I'm a way away from target at the moment but maintenance already scares me more than actually losing the weight!

IMG needs to be lower case, but I think there's still size problems...

That just because you've become a size <whatever> doesn't mean you'll automatically know how to dress that size <whatever> body.

What a wonderful story, and what a difference! So pleased you turned things around, and that you did it while still young. Congratulations friend. :flowerforyou:

It will depend, amongst other things, on how big you started. I lost 15% of my bodyweight before my own sister noticed! So long as you feel you're progressing (and you are by the way, congrats on 25lbs down) then don't worry so much about what others do/say.

2000 is an estimate/average. Many factors will affect what YOUR actual TDEE is. Noticing straight away that you are taller than the average woman, it's likely your TDEE is higher. Edge up your intake until you find a balance.

Hi! Well done for making huge positive changes to your life! My suggestion for the exercise is start a bit slower, and build up. I love hiking, but used to be hopeless going up hills (for years I was like this) - I'd be really sweaty and breathless and it sapped all the enjoyment out of it. And it just dawned on me one day…

Welcome! Good luck with the weight loss, and the surgery if you decide to go ahead.
