  • Happy Thursday! Doing well with my eating, though my workouts aren't matching it. I had good intentions, up at 5.45 this morning, but was so tired I almost fell asleep when sitting and putting my trainers on. I thought that if I didn't have enough energy for that, I might struggle with a full on workout. So I thought I…
  • I understand your pain! I sometimes wish I could be on my feet just so that I'm moving about. I have managed to get myself into a set routine of when i do my workouts, before or after work, as well as planning what I eat, especially for lunch and making sure I don't have any change on hand, else I will be a vending machine…
  • I tend to do a routine at the gym of 10 min on the elliptical, 15 min run then 15 mins of squads & lunges at the end followed by a cool down. When doing a morning workout at home its a power 90 of p90x workout. I tried the spread, but didnt like the fact there were no rest days for recovery - and jillian got on my nerves!
  • I find it easier now I have lost weight, maybe it's just more confidence too? Though I still need a bit more practice! I still don't love wearing them, but I do like wearing wedges, waaaay more comfortable and easier to walk in but you still get the hight.
  • I'm not a massive drinker, I'd have a glass or 2 of wine every other week or something and have a bit more than that on a night out with friends. Then I went to an event which I had been working towards as a motivational goal. Lots of alcohol and really celebrating. My stomach didn't enjoy the night as much as I did and…
  • Hello! I'm also from the UK and living in Dorset. I'm sure you'll find your feet soon here and become an addict like the rest of us! Feel free to add me as a friend!
  • Hello Everyone! The level of determination is amazing at the moment - I love it! I on the other hand have had a bit of a bad weekend. My parents came to visit and we don't see them very often so it's always a few drinks and a splurge meal. This would have been okay, but the indulgence habit carried on this weekend - this…
  • Great job ! Well done
  • Morning all! I managed to get back on track today and get my early morning workout in! I've been quite bad with workouts - though still good on the food front - mainly because I've been working late and spent my evening cleaning for family visiting this weekend. At least the cleaning is me moving about and with the mess in…
  • Hi and welcome! I am also from the UK and feel free to add me as a friend for motivational support! Diet chef sounds like a definite step in the right direction for you to get to grips with portion size and control, hopefully soon you'll be used to the sizes and will be confident enough to cook yourself similar size…
  • I'm from the UK and don't seem to have too much trouble. When I found out how full of salt and fat the 'diet' ready meals were, I have been put of ready meals ever since. To me, they are tasteless and the texture is just blurgh! As annoying and time consuming as it is I look at the labels on all the products I put in my…
  • Hello everyone. I have had a bit of a slack week and as advised I stayed away from the scales - so i did! I know i've had a bad week, bad food, a few drinks (whoops!) But now i know that I can't make up any more excuses. It's back on the no carbs after 2pm tomorrow. My parents are coming to visit at the weekend and I need…
  • Whoops - Sorry Monkeysmum! I will not worry about the scales this week - I'm going to look at the tape-measure instead!!
  • Thursday! That means only 2 days until the weekend! Yipee! I hope everyone is doing well! I'm not feeling very hopeful for my goal for 11st by the end of the week, my TOM has been really bad this time round with contact cramps and headaches. A stressful week at work isn't helping either, which has meant I had to give in to…
  • Hello all - and how is it only Wednesday? Feels like this week will never end! I've been eating well - not great - not terrible and with TOM it's making me feel a bit lethargic and unmotivated. Then I see the gym membership bill and get motivated again! To cheer myself up, this week I'm treating myself to a few new pieces…
  • Mmmm Nandos.... Now I'm hungry! Might have to take a trip there this weekend and I'll not feel that guilty as I know I can have a healthy treat out!

  • Welcome. I wouldn't get frustrated at the scales just yet. Taking measurements is a great idea to keep track of your non scale victories. Remember, you probably didn't gain the weight in a month, so don't expect to lose it quickly. There's a great support community here which will keep you motivated and encouraged!

  • Welcome back. Feel free to add me!
  • I wouldn't worry that much about the scales with the shred. Lots of people on here seem to lose inches as opposed to lbs. Though I am sure with determination you will be able to nail both! I tried the shred, but after day 2 I refused to do anymore as my muscles were hurting and thought they needed a recovery day. You're…
  • Sunday - my dreaded weigh in day! Turns out I have lost 2.2lbs since Tuesday! I think most of it must have been water or something as I didn't eat as well as I should have been. Next week my goal is to hit 11stone - 154 lbs.
  • Good morning and happy weekend! Feeling a bit glum today. I had planned on going shopping today, doing plenty of walking around the shops with heavy bags is a great workout! But sadly I can't as my boyfriend, my driver(!) Has had to go to work. Instead I might sort out the spare room and clear it out so I can do a workout.…

  • Please do kick my butt if I'm off track! That wedding was one of the key factors which initially started me to lose weight - so I think a treat was in order. Even though I ate loads at the weekend it was about 1/4 of what I could have eaten this time last year. I like to look at things in a positive way hehe! Today I'm…
  • Hello everyone! I've been away for a few days for weddings and birthdays and boy have I paid for it! A quick and dreaded time on the scales show that I've put on a little bit of weight. Not as much as I was dreading, but its still a gain - I had a very good weekend so I think it was defiantly worth it, especially as it was…
  • Hello all. Haven't been feeling too good today. After a good week and half of no carbs later than 2pm, I had a few Cheeky chips, baked and homemade last night. They were very nice, but today I am suffering by feeling bloated. Will not be doing that again soon. With this big wedding on Sat I know there will be a lot of…
  • Welcome! I am sure that with the right support and encouragement from all of us here on MFP you will be able to keep motivated and reach your goals. Feel free to add me as a friend :)

  • Mabrywynn - I'm pretty sure I burn more calories just looking at a treadmill for 20 mins! I don't know if I have a gym near me that tests all that stuff. I know the one I go to doesn't ( they rarely have staff in the gym!) But I will keep an eye out for one - it does sound quite fun to get properly sorted! dad106 - I have…
  • Okay. Pretty sure its my hrm. Just did a 40 min workout, 20 min run, 20 on the elliptical and apparently I only burnt 130 calories. Seems a bit low. Thinking of investing in a new one. Any suggestions?
  • Oh there's nothing worse than working out with headaches, let alone a migraine & stating at a screen as well... ergh! I'll let you off :P I'm hitting the no carbs after 2 thing hard this week. If anyone else wants to trial it too, it could be great motivation!
  • Hello. I am also from the UK. I have lots of friends from the midlands as I was at uni there. Feel free to add me as a friend :)
