He actually transfers things into a glass bowl I gave him to keep at the office. We don't like microwaving anything- even if it say it's "safe". Might be a bit hippy of us, but we both seem to agree, so it works for us. :)

We are having Vegan Thai Noodle Soup!

I recently bought my husband a box from Monbento to pack his lunches. All the lunch boxes we had previously were too colorful for him so we wanted to get something a little more masculine (he works with a bunch of engineers and needs to save face, haha). One of the first meals I made for him was Vegan Thai Noodle Soup (the…

Agreed. I bought a $9 scale from Ross (on a clearance rack) and it's been one of the most used pieces of equipment in my kitchen. Absolutely love it!

@mangrothian, Kinpira is easily one of my favorite bento fillers. I always have a ton of veggies just lying around in my fridge staring at me and this is such an easy, delicious, way to put them to use. :) They are jerks, plan and simple. He knows it, I know how it, they know it. It's just kind of a weird culture (that I…

Thanks! It was a rough but rewarding road. :)

Popcorn is always one of my quickest go-tos. I get the dried kernels and either use 1 tsp oil or just air pop it on the stove in about 3 minutes. Making your own trail mix from bulk containers at health food stores is another great way to get lasting filling snacking done. Here is a recipe for my favorite snack (I make big…

Bentos are the best! I have a couple that I use on a regular basis including an orange one (my favorite color) and a panda one (my nickname is panda). I also bought theJust Bento Cookbook which rocks. I use All Things For Sale to get most of my bento supplies and just watch and wait (as patiently as possible) for sales and…

Between 75-90g per day, depending on my work outs. As a 160 pound woman doing cardio and weights this is about right based on the AND recommendations. Protein and the Athlete – How Much Do You Need? - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Some days I come in a little high so days a little low, but overall I'm right on track…

The bold part came from a statement that is not founded on any facts referenced, nor any that I know of. My skin clarity and hair composition absolutely is from my vegan diet. I lost a good portion of my weight eating animal products (albeit mostly a lacto-ovo vegetarian), but the significant change for me was when I…

I agree, @jasonmh630, but those weren't the points of the original post I was addressing. Price, convenience and micronutrient density were the points @laceyjoe made and I was just saying those don't need to be "issues" when starting a health forward vegan diet.

It is correct. That's why it's "Smoky White Bean Stew". You'd get something similar if you used a smoky bacon. :)

This is almost exactly what I was going to suggest. I substitute honey, maple syrup or agave for sugar though. Also, add a little pureed ginger and minced garlic. Yum!
