  • My neighbor grows her own jalapeños. You might enjoy this too. I am considering putting together a micro garden in my kitchen.
  • Bed Bath and Beyond and Crate & Barrel sells well made pots and pans. I'm glad you ventured into making enchiladas. They are delicious and there is so much room for variety. With a nice sized wok, you could make Chinese food very easily. Google: Beef & Broccoli and serve it over Chinese rice. You can buy the rice or learn…
  • Thanks for weighing in Robert. I absolutely love to cook and clean house it was how I was raised and it comes naturally. For myself and others, I bet a significant life change (losing a house, loved one, job) may result in a routine gone haywire and then it becomes a fight to just get by. The result is not enough time to…
  • Oh, but I am not in true maintenance yet. OptiFast refers to the Maintenance Phase as when a participant eats 1200 calories for 4 weeks using a meal plan without their products. The next phase is Stabilization. One must be stabilized for a period of two years before they consider the participant successful. Should one…
  • One way or another, I will have that test done. Should I do it now and again once I meet desired weight?
  • I did not realize how many minor adjustments to my lifestyle I had made to accommodate excess weight. The latest realization came when I effortlessly sat on the kitchen floor bc I was looking for something in a lower cabinet. Previously, I was going to buy a pot rack bc I was tired of fishing for pots, pans, and lids from…
  • Thank you for weighing in on the subject, Wayne. How did the dietician determine your RMR? I'm always trying to cut corners. I have ObamaCare, so I won't be able to get into the doctor again for 3 months.
  • The Scooby website is quite the gift!!! Thank you for sharing.
  • Luluinca, OMG. I thought I must not be understanding something. But according to you, I've got it exactly right! Thank you for taking time to respond. Your words brought clarity, confirmation and will help me far into the future.
  • Congratulations! That is a really big deal. Mine don't fit yet, but I can be really happy for you!!!
  • NSV: I had just eaten dinner and my dog was doing something silly so I reached down from a bar stool and started playing with her. I would not have been able to do that in the past bc I have a hiatle hernia and I used to eat too much and the food would push against the esophageal flap and make me super uncomfortable. The…
  • Your insurance company may not approve the surgery if your BMI gets below 40. I was at 238.5 on April 29th, I have lost 6 sizes and am at 183 now. Next Wednesday it will be 30 weeks. When I log my food and MFP says I will probably weigh 173 by Christmas, I am thrilled. An associate had the Bariatric surgery last year, had…
  • I like your idea about the long workout pants. Btw, I did give my 18s and 20s to a friend and donated all my 16s. I have 3 pair of jeans that actually fit. I was at Costco and they had Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans. There was no design on the pocket, so I am going to buy them and dress up the pocket with rhinestones,…
  • I forgot about that, Costco has huge servings at reasonable prices. Just remember as you look through their products, you can make any prepackaged meals they sell at home with better ingredients and it will be less expensive.
  • Good. I'm glad someone got a good laugh. I sure did.
  • So, I listened to my sleep monitoring app this morning and around 12:30am I distinctly heard me snoring and my dog snoring. So I don't know how accurate this is going to be. Lol
  • I really really really want to stop over eating TODAY! The past 3 days have not been good.
  • Sounds about right. Lol.
  • So, apparently I am supposed to go with stretchy Jean material. I did some research, but I don't want to spend $100 on something called Not Your Daughter's Jeans. Especially not until I am in maintenance. Does anyone have any suggestions for women's jeans (size 14) that have some stretch to them - so they don't sag in a…
  • Yesterday was a bust. Today, my plan is to stay home and closely follow my meal plan. I burned 100 calories on the treadmill. My dog joined me on the treadmill for the entire walk. Today was her first day. The treadmill is 80 inches long, so she developed a nice pace. Afterward, her head was held high. She was quite proud…
  • Gremlins got me yesterday. I over ate by 400 calories. I will plan better today.
  • Just in case any of us are confused about which technology to buy.
  • Bill, that's perfectly logical to me. Lol.
  • Wardrobes: last week I bought a pair of jeans because I only had one pair that fit. A smaller pair that did not fit last week - fits. After wearing it for only two hours, I had to pull up my pants or offend someone. Lol. Now I know why I have seen so many people 50+ wear sweat suits. I am joining the crowd. I should be…
  • Here's the back panel.
  • This is absolutely delicious. No meat, just Lentils and seasoning. Dr. Google should be able to help you with a batch size recipe. Again, would be super cheap to made; yet, a fantastic quality meal.
  • Ok, so in my 100 calorie burn. I did not learn how to add a video; however I updated all the apps on my iPhone before adding Rock My Run. It is music you can adjust to the tempo of your run and somehow works with Ifit. Of course, the ifit instant chat was not available - but there is always tonight. Have a good day, all!
  • I would like to figure out how to run in Central Park safely on my I-Fit treadmill. I am a native New Yorker and we used to say, the only reason to run in Central Park is if someone is chasing you! I'll let the collective you know how it works out.
