You can?

Two main things to remember why you can leg press more than you can squat ('tis true for all of us).... Performing a leg press means you are only moving the equivalent of about 0.707 x weight because the leg press itself takes some of the weight. (So you should be able to squat 85kg, right?) Performing a squat means you…

Go for a hard run, bike ride, or brisk walk that lasts a good 2+ hours on both days this weekend. That will shake things up enough to get things flowing and right the ship.

You need to know where to ride, and where to get the best pizza. B) Those two were scored in the Chianti Region of Tuscany. About 2 to 2 1/2 hours riding before sitting down to lunch to eat those, and then about 2 1/2 more hours on the bike after lunch to arrive to our next destination. Ride to eat. Eat to ride. :)

You can't spot reduce the tummy to get it flat. You'll have to lose enough fat throughout the entire body until finally the stomach area has an appearance that you are satisfied with as being flat. That usually means getting the body fat percentage down enough that you get a flat stomach:…

Italy is fun to ride. We took a bit more comfort with the new laws introduced in March of this year which were designed to help protect cyclists even more. I wish drivers had as much respect for cyclists here in the US. I only asked about reviews of the Cycle America outfit as I searched and couldn't find much. I only…

Wow! 3 months that includes 55 days of riding 68-86 miles per day, and only 8 rest days. Having done RAGBRAI many times averaging that kind of mileage for 7 consecutive days in the July summer heat riding across Iowa, as well as a week of riding that daily mileage in Italy this past summer in the July summer heat - I don't…

Burn to earn. Be it walking, cycling, running, swimming. Cardio can burn huge calories so you can indeed chow down. I love my weekend bike training rides (or races) that are usually 1000 - 2000 calories of burn. You can also use the longer exercise to balance out the CICO equation in your favor (be it to equal a deficit,…

Have you thought of purchasing a light(s) so you could run outside at night after work? You can still do speedwork on the TM. Effort is effort, so don't worry about just the mph. Work the various HR Zones in your intervals on the TM knowing that it will pay handsome dividends.

That's not too much cardio at all. That's only 364 hours of cycling a year (7 hours per week). Even we Masters (old fogies) get 350 - 450 hours per year in on the bike. Pretty much no way to lose weight as a cyclist without losing muscle as well. Have you seen pictures of pro cyclists (or runners). There's no muscle…

I'm not even going to read the thread. How do you reduce your body fat? Eat less.

Sounds good! Let us know how it felt to run today after a few days off. Hopefully, you had "happy legs" during your run...

Ditch the tractor seat, and get a nice slim and trim saddle with cycling shorts, clipless pedals, a nice towel to wipe sweat off your face and have at it.

16 ounce ribeye cooked restaurant style in my cast iron skillet... ...as long as it meets your CICO equation for the day. B)

I always have done really well in the dead of Winter (snow skiing and playing out in the snow as a favorite of mine as a kid because I felt so good). These days, I take a daily Singulair and luckily, do not suffer from the cold weather. I suffer more from the Fall with the leaves, cold, damp, and harvest dust. Today was 33…

I personally do not carry, but I have thought about it many times over and spoken to several good friends who do carry on the bike. I am concerned for my wife as well while she is out on her rides. We both do a lot of cycling - and try to always remain on our guard and not tick off any motorists, or other trail users. Some…

Training to get fit is one thing. Training to get fast is an entirely different thing. Study up on the Training Effect. You're going to have to introduce various levels of intervals, rest/recovery where super compensation (or "over compensation") takes place after the previous training load you have endured to build your…

With proper gear, there is no such thing as colder or bad biking weather. B) This time of year involves using lights for a ride after work. Ditto on winter cycling boots, layers of clothing, gloves, etc... . No snow as of yet, but even after it does fall - luckily our county removes it from the bike trail. And if it is…
