Wok your way to eating volume that is filling....!
Looking for a way to chow down on a lot of volume, yet not so many calories to fill the stomach? My Wok has bee a very successful tool for me - and is really easy to cook up a batch of stir fry as my main side - or the entire meal depending on what I put in the Wok. I usually keep the fridge stocked with a variety of…

How to deal with heart burn without the use of OTC medications...
I'm not a big proponent of using OTC heartburn/reflux medications (Nexium/Tums/Prilosec/Zantex, etc.). Curious how some of you keep it at bay without turning to meds and avoiding any sort of food that might cause heart burn/reflux? TIA

Cholesterol altering success stories thread...
Just like the thread topic says, I would like to hear of success stories from those who have been able to change their diet to improve their cholesterol numbers (raise the good, lower the bad). Even more impressive to me would be to hear stories of those who were able to get off their prescribed cholesterol lowering…

Aufwiedersehen to the SPARE TIRE!!!
The average automobile tire weighs 20 pounds. I've heard my entire life the statement "he's got a spare tire" when talking about some man's waistline. Well, now I know why they call it a "spare tire".... Because it weighs at least 20 pounds if not more depending on the size of a guy's gut. The tire also, for me, represents…

Side effects from spinach...
Not the most pleasing of subjects I know, but I've been eating raw spinach the past 6 weeks in my salads. Not a lot, but say a good 2-3 cups of raw spinach along with some veggies, berries, nuts, lean turkey, tuna, chicken, etc... . I suppose I average 2 - 3 salads a week in the evening like this. And I also average about…

Farm Raised Trout Recipe...
Why farm raised trout? Trout is one type of fish that is better to buy from a farmed source because wild lake trout can contain higher levels of toxins. It's lean with only about 8g of fat per fillet. Rich in high quality protein to help your muscles recover from and adapt to training. I picked up some farm raised trout…

Worried about fruits and vegetables due to drought?
I am very worried about getting fresh produce this coming year thanks to the drought. A lot of growers in California have not even planted and are not going to plant crops this year. Sounds like major price increases are coming and supply will be in high demand. I believe I will extend the size of my garden this year and…

Lower Respiratory Crud and exercising...
....I probably already know the answer to my own question, but I got hit with a "below the neck" something or other. Weak muscles, feverish, deep productive cough, etc... . I am assuming this is a no go for working out until things feel better. How long would you wait to get back into some cardio work? Today was supposed…
