The issue with those weight loss studies is that lower carb diets reduce water weight which will lower your total body weight. I don't think weight is a good indicator in these types of studies. I do agree though that protein is most thermogenic . You use more calories to digest protein. It does burn more calories, so very…

What's the difference if it's holidays or not? How do you maintain your weight when it's not the holidays? You hit your calories goals. That's it.

Reading comprehension. Scroll up. Just being here my IQ is dropping, I am way to good for this mindless stuff. People acting like they're 5yrs old. Good bye
-
those increments are very prone to error. How precise is your scale?(assuming you're using one). Food that sticks to a pan, the calorie errors on labels and so on. Tons of errors present. So increasing calories "a little bit" doesn't mean 80 calories a day or so. You have been at this one day, you haven't raised it slowly.…

This topic makes me sad now, with all the GIF's makes me wonder what the future brings in terms of intellect. Simple entertainment for simple minds. Before my IQ drops due to the GIF's I am out of here.

Thus, for athletes desiring muscle hypertrophy, there is little reason to limit protein intake and relatively high intakes might be the best recommendation. Of course, muscle anabolism may be enhanced by varying the type and timing of protein and amino acid ingestion. Even if 2.5–3.0 g protein per kg per day is consumed…

Bad logic.

If you're a fan of Lyle's you probbaly have his protein book. Go look up the references in there.

This is my whining?

You should round to the hundreds. So you where eating 1,200 calories yesterday and you increased it to about 1400? You shouldn't be hungry, eat "good quality' food... to fill you up right now. See how it goes tomorrow.
-
Bad logic.
-
Depends on many factors including hunger, fat intake and things of that sort. Generally, I would say 1g per lbs on up if you're reducing body fat. If you're bulking then You can bring it down under 1g per pound, this way you can have more calories with out the satiety effect of protein.
-
It's to soon to tell anything. You only been at it one day. How many calories where you eating to lose weight?
-
Depends on your goals, and activity factor.
-
How much do you weigh?
-
Looks like you hit your calorie goal. I have noticed for me atleast, protein shakes digest quickler than solid protein food choices.

There is nothing to avoid. There is no valid research to support that LBM is a viable method to determine protein intake. The research on protein intake is based on total weight. There is nothing more to debate about on this subject. That's it.
-
Okay, here is the help and support you need. Don't do the LBM method, it's wrong. YOU CAN DO IT!
-
Still no valid research to support the LBM method regardless of price of BF testing.

Thie fizz also expands your stomach, one of your indicators of how full you are is stomach expansion. The more you stretch your stomach, the more food you will eat to feel full.
-
You increased calories equally. Increase your protein intake to suppress hunger. Try eating 1g of protein per pound of weight you have. If you weigh 130lbs eat 130g of protein.

Read the paper, it went off nitrogen balance, it got collective studies and made a conclusion... That's pretty bad. I wouldn't even try to pass that as a valid reference. -1 point for helms on this one.
-
So what is your complaint?
-
What's the problem, a scale cost 20 dollars, dexa few hundred.
-
Lets get this right... I said nothing to you and yet, you sit here and insult me. I was pointing out where the flaws where in what sara said. Okay, I see what's giong on. What I wrote, wasn't directed to you in anyway. I was just clearing up sara's flaws on the topic to help and support the community better.

Bad science. Not on the researches behalf, but on yours.
-
Once again bad logic. g per LBM is a decent rule of thumb. Getting accurate reading for LBM is too costly. So the general population has no real measure of LBM, so their protein intakes are inaccurate. The rules for protein intake are 0.5-1.5g per pound. So obese people can use these recommendations. A 600lbs peron can eat…

I am asking you to link me...

1) I eat arsenic everyday so what's your point? 2) It's bad science because there is no research to support it. Except that one paper that guy posted, which I could only find the abstract. 3) Go read any book by Lyle Mcdonald
