Me too!!!

^^^^^^ This ^^^^^ I have an 18 year old daughter who is pushing me away BIG TIME right now. Damn, it hurts!!! But at 15 months, I think it's much different. They're not old enough to think rationally - intellectually or emotionally. I think just a phase - as I'M HOPING IT IS with my 18 year old. When you give everything…

Thanks everyone for your experiences with this book. It just came in from Amazon. Looking forward to digging in!!

I'm almost 44, and lost about 38 pounds on this wonderful website - in 2011. I'm now up about 5 pounds, and trying to lose that, plus those last 10 - 15 pounds!!!! I'm realizing the journey is never "over." But ladies - as long as we never stop starting. I heard that in a WW meeting years ago, and it has stuck with me.…

Salted, roasted almonds, and my new fave - dried mango slices from Whole Foods!!! MMMMmmmmm. Sweet and chewy!

Sad that I took me a while to think of something. My wrists. They're the only "small" thing on me! Also, I guess I have nice lips and nice eyes. :blushing:

"Never stop starting" (this has helped me many times over the years) "Every little bit counts" (this goes for food - as well as exercise)

I got my butt out of a warm bed this morning at 4:40 a.m. to go to the gym! 20 degrees outside - dark and cold. Brrrr.

Thanks everyone. I drink LOT of water!! Wonder if I'm drinking too much water - and its washing away some of the good things that my body needs. But I'll definitely try some of the suggestions! :)

I really struggle with this too. I eat well all week, and then the weekends.... well all hell breaks loose!! This weekend: pizza, cheeseburger, fries, .... well you get the idea. I know it's why i've been "stuck" for months and months. I lose a few during the week, then put it back on over the weekend. No answers - just…

So amazed at how many lives are touched by this. Thanks again everyone for your very personal stories. I have read each one, and have said my own little prayer for each of you, and for the alcoholics in your lives.

Thanks for your comments here. You definitely summed it up well, and it helps me understand more how and why it's a "disease." - in quotations, or not. :ohwell:
-
I'm definitely sorry if I offended you with this statement. I've lost several people in my life to cancer as well - and it SUCKS. I guess what I meant is that cancer is "concrete" and alcoholism seems "elusive" - meaning hard to deal with, cause you can't talk reasonably about it to the alcoholic. Anyway, I totally hate…

Thanks everyone for your stories, and support. It's comforting knowing that I'm not alone. It's such a sad thing - that I can see rips families apart.

bump for later

Took me 8 months to really hit it. I had lost about 35 pounds. And 8 months later - I'm still at that plateau. Can't seem to lose any more, even though I'd like to lose 10 or 15 more. :explode:

"Never stop starting" and "Every little bit counts" (I like this one, cause it applies to exercise, and food - in opposite ways)
-
If it just came down to this (which really IS common sense) - most of us would have the weight issue licked! But there's more at work than our "common sense" - it's usually emotional eating, or other "reasons" why we overeat. Knowing what to do, and doing it - are two different things. But for the most part - it really is…

That's awesome!!!! Setting goals - and then reaching them feels great, and is a great way to stay motivated!!!! Way to go!!!!!:drinker:

My ex husbad always says "I get it" - It irritates the hell out of me. What do you get?? He says it in response to the kids wanting to do things, that I don't necessarily agree with "I get it" - well guess what??? I DON'T GET IT!!! Think of something else to say! The other one - "Are you kidding me?" A fellow co-worker…

Soooo true!!! Couldn't have said it better myself. I currently need to get BACK IN THE ZONE!!! After taking 4 days off from exercising. I don't sleep as well when I don't exercise!

I'm 42 years old, and I have 4 baby teeth. (no adult teeth underneath either) :blushing:

I love to see all you WONDERFUL 40+ PEEPS out there losing weight and looking and feeling great!!!!! For those of us with kids, we're doing the most important job - setting a good example for our children, who are living in a world of sugar, fat, obesity and diabetes!! :grumble: I'm 42, and feeling better than I have for…
