Weight loss wise, no, it's not going to affect you. There are a lot of people who don't like aspertame and what not, but there isn't really any science to back it up, which either means there isn't anything to it (which I'm leaning towards) or that it's not very significant. I find coke zero to be excellent to satisfy a…

I was thinking 143lbs, because that's 50lbs down, and lands me on 65kg, which seems reasonable. Then I thought it would be so cool to get to 127lbs, since that's half of my starting weight - it's very lean though (still healthy BMI if that has any value), but it will depend on if I get into lifting weights - If I build…

^ This! And seriously, if we can't be "selfish" about out OWN BODIES, then what is the alternative? That's deffinitely something that should be 100% ours!

They are all things that occurs in natural fruits. That's the point. Folic acid is vitamin B9. The point of the pictures isn't to show that "omg, apples have bad chemicals", the point is to show that just because something has "an ingredient list I can't pronounce" or E-numbers, doesn't mean anything at all.

Please do! I know there are several of them, but I can never seem to find them again when I've stumbled on them :b I'm a chemist and food scientist, big fan of food and chemicals <3

Oh, I was just about to!!

I was juuuuust about to have an after-dinner cookie (that I baked just before dinner!): Then I logged my dinner -and decided to have a Diet Coke instead :b

For you, it's not really the calorie deficit that will be the issue at all, since you say it's only 500 deficit. What can be an issue, though, is micronutrients. If someone eat 2000cal, it is likely they will get their nutrients pretty much covered without paying too close attention (not talking a junk food diet, but just,…

Oh, I love food too! In all honesty, my life is about food, and I love it! I am getting a degree in Food Science, I cook new foods all the time, I write the household meal plans, and I am dieting, so it's safe to say that I think about food 24/7, and I plan to do forever :D I just had homemade sushi!…

Depends on what he meant by it! The Standard American Diet is about 60% carbs, 10% protein, 30%fat. Maybe he want's you to do 45% 32.5% protein 22,5%fat (that's 25% less carb and fat than the Standard American Diet), which is certainly very possible.

I love it! Really really love it! If you are worried, steam or roast them really really well, and if the seem really wide or light at the end, cut it off as it can be a bit chewy and bitter. Really tender asparagus, a sort of rich flavour, I would say they taste more savory than other veggies, though have a distinct…

I'm in a similar situation, cooking for an underweight and an obese (me!) I make a lot of ommelets for brunch, and I give her all the yolks, puts lots of cheese on it, and serve it with bread an butter - I get the whites (plus a little bit of yolk for flavour - I usually do one yolk for every 4th white), no cheese, served…

What is cacao? Is it just the cocoa solid? Is it a brand? Pure cocoa solid is pretty neat, it can have up to 10% flavonoids which have a long list of health benefits ranging from anti-allergic to anti-viral. Plus, it has a ton of minerals. Good stuff. Kind of bitter and dry though.

I had a 110-127lbs to lose from the start, now I'm almost 50 down - would love to have more friends in my weight and goal range! And small goals at a time is exactly what I'm doing :D Already hit goal 1, 25lbs, and I have a bunch of small goals coming up: 50lbs downs, getting under 200lbs, 25kg down, exiting obesity BMI…

My belt, which is well worn in it outer (5th) hole is too big now, even in the inner hole.
-
I saw someone who said that when he reached his goal, he stopped logging, but did weekly weigh-in: If he had gained, he would log until the weekly weigh-in was back at his goal. I think that's a good way to do it.
-
Ohhh, didn't see your answer until now, thank you so much, I'll try out all these :D

Deffinitely, my nutrion proffessor told me that EVERYONE here in Denmark, even the most outdoorsy, are vit D dificient during winter (October-March) as we have so little sun. Here in January, we only had 17hours of sunlight all put together, and it wasn't intensive sun either, so that's simply not enough to get all you…

All foods are good in some way, and all foods are bad in exess. It's all about balance. Anyways, the thing people say negatively about eggs is the colesterol, because yes, it has a good bit of that, both LDL and HDL - HDL transports LDL to the liver, so if you don't have enough HDL, all the LDL will mess around in your…

I'm guessing lots of people live up north!
-
I don't, but I want to... I want to take vitamin D - It's a fact that EVERYONE in my country is deficient from october to march, mostly-indoor people more so, and longer so, which would apply to me... And I also want to take extra calcium: Last year ago, I had my bone mass measured, and it was only 97% of what it's…

I had cheesecake, cappuccino and an after eight! :D Yum, yum! And I still have plenty of room in my calorie allowance to make delish dinner! This "diet" thing is not so bad at all ;)
-
Not really, if I know I will be eating something calorie dense, I make room for it in my daily calorie, or at least my weekly.
-
What I did, I took a week or so where I ate pretty much as I used to, logged it all carefully, and then evaluated which items made me go over either my calorie goal or my macros - and then I could much more specifically look for alternatives. For instance, if I could see that most of my fat came at breakfast, time I looked…

This exactly!!

I do sometimes, especially if it's people I see frequently. I had a class reunion not so long ago, and then it was a bit difficult to say I hadn't lost, but I see my mom maybe every 2 or 3 weeks, and now I just say I haven't lost since she saw me.

That's probably true too, the pressure.. For example, I told my grandma one time that I was trying to watch my white bread, rice and pasta intake a bit (I didn't even mention it in connection to weight loss - I study food science and nutrition, and we had talked about what everyday foods were essential, and which didn't…
-
You know, that last sentence I think is very true: When ever I do answer people who ask how I lost, I usually say it's more a question of how I gained - I gained 15-20kg (33-44lbs) VERY quickly by drinking exessivly, and the bad habits that came with that (5am fries on the way home, drinking noting but cold chocolate milk…

I'm keeping quiet about it too - it's a bit awkward tracking calories "secretly" when I have a roommate, lol :b When ever she isn't home, I quickly weigh all the things I plan to eat, lol :b Or sometimes I'll pretend to be following a recipe, so that I need the scale
-
I think this could be true. Intersting.
