  • My mom has histamine intolorance, which means she's pretty much allergic to everything. Big triggers include: All berries, citrus-fruits, pinapple, papaya, kiwi, mango, avocado, banana, spinach, kales and cabbages, tomato, pumpkin, sprouts, soy, aubergine, cheeses, yoghurts, smoked meat/fish, canned meat/fish, sausages,…
  • Hey, I study Food Science Technology & Nutrition, though I want to focus on the technology aspect... From this summer of, I'll be having less and less classes with the nutrition-focused students, so I'll end up with a engineering degree in Food Science Technology, rather than a nutrition degree per se.. But safe to say…
  • Sounds delish! Would the lettuce then also be grilled?
  • I have just discovered that mixing PB2, sriacha and soy sauce makes everything taste like asian bbq. I'm digging it.
  • What is that?
  • Thank you so much everyone!
  • Thanks! :D From jan until april i biked to and from uni, 15min each way. In april and May, I've spend 1.5hours in the gym, 7 times/week, mostly rowing and leg press, and a few other resistance machines. Losing a bit motivation for the gym though, so I gotta switch it up!
  • Thank you! And I'm 5'8" :)
  • On r/loseit? :D There are more than just the one picture of my little shopping spree :)
  • Haha, I should have gone all out in colored spandex and all that :b There were a lot of awful crop tops though, kind of wish I had taken pics of them too - one was white and had a printed bra-lette, and it was just. so. awful on me, haha!
  • Well, for most of the time it was just 'less fat', I was still the largest person in the room, still too big to shop in the same stores as my friends etc. That is no longer the case! (In fact, the top and skirt are size medium!) I no longer feel like the most accurate discriptor for me would be "you know, the fat one" etc.…
  • Wow, lots of reply really quick! Thanks guys :D It's a work in progress (ticker is now set for when I've cut down 1/3rd of my starting weight), but I'm definitely starting to see a difference that matters now! I went on a little shopping spree, and I was a MEDIUM in most of the things! :o :o
  • I follow it, though protein is pretty much the only macro I make a big effort to hit in grams... I like fat to be between 25-35%, and carbs can do what they like... They usally end up pretty low though, to "make room" for the other macros. My "interpretation" of IIFYM is that it's not vilanizing foods - You can eat…
  • "Dirty eaters"? Are you for real?
  • Derp. Yes, I see it now. Thanks! Thanks! I like it too, so I'm reluctant to change it, even though it's from my starting weight, lol :b
  • I guess my problem with HG is also that they are super dependent on pre-packaged stuff, though that is mainly because I can't get any of it, so it's useless to me. Besides, I like to cook from scratch :) I have the oppesite "problem" with skinny taste, she never uses sweetners or anything like that... I view those kind of…
  • Ohhhhhh, I have some rhubarb too, and I'm going to slow cook it out until it's like chunky jam, then roast some oats, drizzle on top, and top it with sweetened greek youghurt. Sooooo delish and perfect for summer!
  • The positive effects I see of water are: It helps keep your physically full. It helps to keep your hydrated. It's good for us rest-less people who'd prefer to stuff something in our face at any given time. It does it all at zero calories. I see the same positive effects of diet soda (well, it's usually 2 calories or…
  • Most of it is thrown out in retail, yes. Worth a thought next time you see shops brag about how fresh their produce/milk/bread is. Some of them sell the veggies to discount shops for the next day, but most of it gets thrown out after only a day in the shop. But the household do throw out a whole lot too. And since that's…
  • I literally just made a thread about this over in the 'food and nutrition' tab! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1304654-food-waste Food waste is a MAJOR problem, and dieting is no excuse. The important bit: "In the industrilized world, there is 40% food waste. 2/3rds of that waste is from farm to your shopping bag.…
  • I'm in the same boat as you! I'm all for fat for satiety etc.... But when I look how big a portion I can get of a 'fatty' food (nuts, seeds, avocado, salmon etc.) vs. a low fat food (squash, mushroom, asparagus, shrimp etc.), I tend to opt for the latter category! We don't have many (any?) products that are THAT fat…
  • I'm rather appaled that some of you think it's the choice between obesity and wasting food, when in fact there seems to be the oppesite correlation. Both of these problems are caused by oversupply of 'fast/easy/cheap' (even though both problems are expensive), and not planning/thinking your food choices through.

  • I am not encouraging stuffing yourself. I'm encouraging not cooking/buying exessive amounts, and that you make sure to actually use your left overs for another time.

  • I am scraping my plate more now than before, because I feel like "Damn it, I logged it, it counts!" haha :b I NEVER throw out food either. Experimenting with what ever ingredients I have in my kitchen does go wrong sometimes, and one of my friends always tell me to throw it out if it's not very delicious, but no! I made…

  • If I'm making just 1 portion of something, I just log the ingredients individually for as my lunch for example. If it's something I'll only eat a portion of at that meal, I create a recipe, add the ingredients there, and then when you need to add it, you choose 'my recipes', and find the food there.
  • I usually (as in, for years and years and years - so also while I was eating at a surplus) do not go very often, a bit more often than once a week maybe. But I haven't had any problems when I then actually had to go, unlike now where, well, it's no fun. And it's also been longer between going than normally (so we are up…
  • I've been eating this way since december, and even before that, I feel like I did get the same amount of fiber. Besides, I've never been a frequent, eh, "go'er". This is not a sudden problem, it's been getting gradually worse over time. I don't have any problems with diarrhea, but maybe that is because I already eat…
  • I don't eat cereal either, lol :b It's not because I'm worried about preservatives or anything, it's just, as a food lover, it seems weird to add something non-food that I need to gulp down, if I could get to eat something with the same effect, lol :b But I know of husk, my friend used to take it loads, so I may get a…
