  • I sometimes feel the only reason this attempt at losing weight has been successful for me when all others have failed is because of my increased water intake. A LOT of the time when I feel hungry I'm actually just super thirsty, and most of the time I don't feel "thirst" per say, so letting that guide me ends with me…
  • lolololol
  • Oh, I am so adopting this reward system. You could also do a spa/mani pedi day if you're into that.
  • Just like to say sorry again for getting defensive and angry. I felt like people on the thread were forcing beliefs or attributes on me that I didn't actually have and that the thread's changing subject matter from my question of "anyone having success with this" to "following these rules is a stupid thing to do" was…
  • Don't I need a spotter if I'm going to do bench presses so I don't crush myself to death under the bar? You may or may not have noticed I have a little weight-lifting phobia.
  • I have trick knees and have no trouble with the elliptical, biking, or swimming (avoid breaststroke)
  • I've watched a lot of dead-lift videos. I feel like there is every chance I could destroy my own back.... I will definitely download the App and watch the people doing dead-lifts from the cardio deck for a few days first, lol.
  • I looked at the descriptions, but I really don't quite fit either of them. I spend a little time being active during the day, but not the majority of it. so I just went with lightly active, and I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the help !
  • Good point, sorry.
  • Ok I'm going to drop this question like it is hot, but before I go, it's kind of ridiculous to judge the book from what are essentially just the chapter titles. There are explanations and exceptions about all the rules in the book, so please at least read first...This is just like a banned books debate at the library...sigh
  • Once again, the discussion has spiraled wildly off topic from the actual question. I think it is pretty hard to argue that no one has been negative and judgmental on this thread, but I don't need to get into an argument about it. Have at it I guess.
  • Simmer down select negative people on this thread. I only use the rules as guidelines. I had a piece of toast before bed last night. I DO WHAT I WANT. It was just useful to get me started and reset my eating habits to something more healthy. Not sure why using these rules should be so upsetting to others. Even if I did…
  • It usually looks like this, give or take a vegetable or two. Fruit/Veg: 1 bag of organic gala apples 1 cnt. blueberries, strawberries, blackberries 1 lb green beans 5 red bell peppers 3 yellow onions 1 bulb garlic 1 squash (acorn, spaghetti, butternut) Grain: 1 loaf whole wheat bread (Brownberry) 1 pack whole wheat…
  • I admire cats aesthetically, but they don't really fulfill the same place in my heart as a dog. I don't trust them at all, and their lack of trainability makes them seem more remote and alien, whereas dogs can be trained which seems more like communicating. Cats all seem like psychopaths to me, which cat people seem to…

  • I'll look into getting a waterproof heart-rate monitor, not sure how accurate that would be for swimming, though. Anyone have any suggestions of foods I can get protein bumps from? I like meat ok, but I don't really just eat it on its own unless it is fish. I'm drinking protein shakes and have a lot of energy (more than I…
  • I went through food diary settings and you can create your own there!
  • It is my swim workouts that I think are overestimated. I use the heartrate setting on the elliptical machine.
  • No! I only looked in the bread section, there is still hope!
  • Sorry, what is the TDEE method?
  • Sweet! I just bought a copy, having already read it at the library and loving it! I wish I could find Ezekiel bread near me. The questing continues. So far the water drinking has helped me the most, and snacking on as many vegetables as I want! But yeah...I doubt I'll ever get to the point where I can just drop carbs after…
  • I just got a bento box and I take leftovers from dinner or something I can slap together in a hurry. Today I had half a red bell pepper filled with black beans, quinoa, shredded chicken breast and a tablespoon or so of cheese. You can also just take simple hand-foods like vegetables with hummus and an apple with peanut…
  • My favorite, and this will fill you way up, is 1 pack of instant oatmeal+1/8 cup of quinoa+1/4 cup walnuts and fresh blueberries. You get a little bit of everything and it is so delicious. A veggie omelete with bell peppers mushrooms and ham is also good! Can't go wrong with a smoothie and a slice of peanut butter toast…
  • uuuugh I hate lettuce, but maybe one leaf just to hold other things won't be as repugnant. Love the red bell pepper bun idea, I can't get enough of bell peppers! Maybe I should be looking more at vegetable based dishes and then just adding a little bit of meat! Thanks all!
  • Well I ate the pickles and In my heart, I feel like it was the right choice. I'll just try to decrease the sodium of other foods I eat in the future to allow for them as an occasional snack.
  • You are far too late sir, I just drank a bunch of water. lol. Thanks for the info, though!
  • Excellent! pickles all around ;)! I guess I'm not really far enough over for it to matter. I am a 25 year old obese woman, though, and there are heart problems on one side of my family soooo, I shall tred carefully.
  • Lol, thanks. You're right, I'm probably over-thinking it. I will take your advice :), thanks to everyone who responded!
  • So do you not stop losing water weight at some point? Is it always some water and some fat and (unfortunately) some muscle? Sorry, still just a little bit confused. Is there a point at which I can feel confident that I am done losing water weight? I'm drinking 100 oz a day...
  • Thanks guys! So should I assume it is real (fat) weight I'm losing this week, or could it still just be water-weight?
