You can do the 5K easily after 8 weeks of doing Couch to 5K. I would suggest skipping the half marathon and plan for one further down the line. One good thing about running is even if you take some time off, your body seems to remember running. I took 4 months off due to hip pain and was able to get up and running even…

It really depends for me. I generally will eat a breakfast bar an hour or so before I run if I am running in the morning. If I am running after work, I usually just have my normal lunch 4-5 hours before, but I might eat a banana mid afternoon, if I remember.

I started following this advice and my distance has increased well beyond what I was able to do when I was running in the past.

I was in Delaware recently and hit the Nike outlet. I got an awesome pair of running shoes for $50 and another pair that I haven't run in yet for $40. I used to run in Brooks, but they are a bit too narrow for me across the top of my foot.

Well, if you are working out 2 hours+ a day and not eating back your exercise calories, plus keeping your calories at or below 1420, you don't have a lot to pass every day. Your net is what? 800-900 calories?

Because I use one of those leashes for running with my dog, I know exactly what you are talking about. Congrats! It's so awesome when you see your progress in an NSV.

Really? I would think it was really nice of my friends to get me something like that for my birthday. Of course, I love fruit, especially if it's covered in chocolate. I actually like just about anything as long as it's covered in chocolate.

Whatever gets you up and moving is the best exercise for you. Some people enjoy running and some people don't. If you don't enjoy it, you aren't likely to stick with it.

I am usually super warm when I get home from the gym on the days I run. I take a shower and put on sweats and a tshirt. About 30 minutes later, I am freezing and have to put on a sweatshirt. I am usually fine after that, unless I am drinking something cold, then I have to put a blanket over me.

Congratulations!

I personally wouldn't add the C25K on a day you are already working out. Even though you are in really good shape, the C25K takes a lot of effort, especially at the beginning. When I started it, I had been working out for a year doing the ARC trainer for 45-60 minutes 7 days a week. I thought I was going to die when I…

It's hard to see it at first. I know when I first started losing weight (I had 40 lbs to lose), nobody seemed to notice until after I had lost 23 lbs, then suddenly everyone seemed to notice. If you aren't already, maybe start taking your measurements, so you can see not only the lbs lost, but the inches, too.

LOL. Quite the comparison.

Well, at least you've changed your reasons for disliking PF. Before it was because they didn't offer cable machines or free weights, so that discouraged those poor overweight, out of shape suckers that go there. Now it's the marketing they use. Cool. Good to know. PF is doing something totally right. They get tons of…

No, that's not true. I quit smoking 8 years ago and I still like the smell of a freshly lit cigarette. I can't stand the smell of old smoke, or the smell that clings to some people (not all smokers stink if they wash their hands regularly and wear clean clothes daily), but I couldn't stand that smell even when I was a…

And I do have black vegan Ugg look alike boots.

I love my Ugg slippers. They are the only things that can keep my feet warm in the winter.

Sounds like the falling sensation some people get. It's when you body gets completely relaxed and your brain isn't too far behind, but just enough where it tricks you into thinking you are falling and you jerk back awake.

No, I try to hit 10,000 steps every day as my average. If I decide to take the dogs for a brisk walk or I add walking on the treadmill at the gym to my average day, I log the extra walking.

I used to have a couple of cocktails every night after work. I haven't had a drink for 18 days and can say I don't really miss it. I would calculate it into my calories every night, but when I stopped drinking, I realized how many empty calories I was drinking away and finally figured out why I was so hungry first thing…

Compression capris are awesome! They keep you from bouncing all over the place, too. LOL. They also stay put, keep your undies out of your butt and are comfortable. In the summer, I wear an oversized running tank top, in the winter I wear an oversize moisture wicking top and a moisture wicking running jacket.

Around here the black card is $20 per month. And even with the white card ($10/month) you can work out at any of the other PFs, you just have to pay a $5 fee for each use. Still a whole lot better than anything I've seen in the hotels I've stayed in and cheaper than most other gyms.

What PFs have you been to that don't have cable machines? I've belonged to one for going on 7 years and it has cable machines. When I travel, I use the PFs in the cities I travel to and they all have cable machines, too. My PF also has free weights and barbells and heavy weights to put on said barbells. I haven't heard the…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_Fitness "In 2011, during an interview with The Daily Show, Regional Manager Elizabeth Cunningham joked about Planet Fitness's philosophy of keeping out certain kinds of people, stating: "We are the Judgement Free Zone... and kind of not have that hassle of all the different lunks in the…

Seriously? Do you every actually WATCH the Daily Show? It's on the Comedy Channel for a reason. I love it and I love Jon Stewart. But he's a comedian and he does all sorts of parodies. This was just another one of them.

I guess they either don't need makeup because they are so drop dead gorgeous without it (sarcasm) or else they don't have to go to work and try to fit their workout in after hours. I always have makeup on when I go to the gym. I leave from work and I'm not going to scrub my face so I can go sweat like crazy. Nobody has…
