Bodymedia Fit and sleep logging
I am not sure where this should really go, so I'll try it here. I purchased a Bodymedia Fit approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago. I like having a good idea of how many calories I am burning in a day so I can keep my intake in check. The biggest shock to me is how little sleep I am actually getting according to it. Over the past 2…

I keep reading this here, but it doesn't make sense to me
When people are talking about calories burned when running, there are several people who say that a HRM isn't necessary, that all you need to do is take your weight x .66 x distance in miles and you will get an accurate calorie burn. I am admittedly not the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to math and science, so…

So, do you have a gym crush?
You know, the guy or girl who you enjoy watching work out or share a smile with when you are at the gym? There is only one guy at my gym who isn't either creepy, old or way too young for me to like to watch work out. He's about my age (mid 40s or so) and just nice on the eyes. I refer to him as my gym crush. Not to his…

What is it about your SO that made you fall for him/her?
When I met my husband, he was a 30 year old New York transplant to NC. He had a skull tattoo on his arm, talked big and sounded scary because of his accent and deep voice. I avoided going out with him for 6 months because he was far from my type. I was a good girl who lived in the country, 23 years old and divorced with a…

Bored just running on the treadmill, so I started B210K!
I finished the C25K back at the beginning/middle of March. I've been pretty consistently running 3-3/12 miles three days a week. I was starting to hit a wall because I was bored out of my mind. Someone here mentioned the Bridge to 10K and I remembered how much I loved the C25K with it's challenge every week, so I thought I…

Men vs. women- perspective?
I work out at a great gym. I am there 7 days a week and the employees all greet me by name. The manager is a really, really nice guy with a very loud, penetrating voice who yells a hello to me every time I get there and goodbye every time I leave. So on Monday I checked in and was walking past him. He greets me by name and…

Okay, farm fresh hard boiled egg eaters. How do you
cook them? I have a neighbor who has some chickens and he dropped a couple of eggs off yesterday. If fixed them just like I do all my hard boiled eggs. When I peeled them this morning, I lost at least 1/3 of the whites because they stuck to the shell. I always peel them under cold running water. Only one thing was…

So guys, is it true that a sweaty woman at the gym is hot?
In various threads about the gym, a few guys will throw it out there that they find a sweaty woman attractive at the gym. So is that how you feel?

I want to run a 5K at the end of April or beginning of May!
I've started back on the C25K, this time more slowly and following it more accurately so I don't hurt myself again. I want to run a 5K in April or May. Should I go ahead and sign up for one now, so I am committed or should I wait until I know I can run 3-4 miles without an injury? I am on week 4 day 2 today. Any advice is…

Not an NSV, but a V all the same!
I weighed this morning and I officially weigh less than I did when I quit smoking! I quit almost 5 years ago and promptly gained 30+ lbs which I struggled to lose for 4 years before realizing that I needed to do a complete lifestyle change, which I started last October. This weight was one of my goals and I have achieved…

Interesting reason to be dropped as a MFP friend
So, I tend to keep my friends' list short, but I will generally accept any friend request. If they turn out to be a good fit, they stay on my friends list, if not, eventually I remove them. I have a great group of friends right now. I had someone friend request me two days ago and I accepted. The first day she was only at…

Fabulous NSV!
I have been working out at the gym a lot lately and enjoying every second of it. The better condition I am in, the more I want to work out. My scale hasn't moved in the last month, but I knew I was seeing more and more definition in my thighs and calves, so I really wasn't too worried about it. This morning two of my…

This put a big smile on my face! NSV
About 13 years ago, I lost 40 lbs on WW and became a lifetime member. I remember when I had gotten close to my goal, people would say to me, "I can't imagine you weighing 30 lbs more than you do now, you are just so slim". I hoped this time around that I might have that happen again. Today it did! I was talking to two…

Why is it that since I have upped my calories I am starving?
On the advice of several people here who had reached goal, I upped my calories by 200 per day because I am around 20 lbs from my goal. I AM STARVING! Why? Yes, it's been an active weekend, but all my weekends are active. I haven't quite eaten the full 200 extra calories, more like 100-125 of them. I was never starving on…

I'm no longer invisible!
I didn't even realize I WAS invisible until I stopped being so. When I was obese, strangers would talk to me, but just the basics and no real smiling or interacting, and I am a very friendly person. Then I moved into the overweight category and I've noticed that more people are talking to me. I'm just under 15 lbs away…

Casual Friday NSV!
On Fridays, we are allowed to wear jeans to work. I haven't been in the office for the last three Fridays, so today was the first time I tried to wear jeans in a while. All of my "fat" jeans from Lane Bryant are huge on me now and I am having to hike them up constantly to keep them from falling down. So I tried on my…

My second NSV!
I was looking for something to wear to work and saw these really cute capris that I hadn't had on in over 4 years, I forgot they were in there (they were dusty!). I pulled them out and put them on and they fit with room to spare. It was so exciting!

Question aoubt the actual DVD of the 30 day shred
I purchased this DVD last week and just got a remote for my DVD player today. At the beginning of the DVD there is about 5-7 minutes of introduction and advertising before you actually get to select the workout. There is no way to skip these because I get a message that says "operation prohibited by disc". My question is,…

My first NSV!
I am down 21-22 lbs total from when I started really keeping track of my food intake last fall. Yesterday morning someone came up to me at work and said "you look great! How much weight have you lost". It felt so good that someone has noticed! It really keeps me motivated, that's for sure!
