Why is it that since I have upped my calories I am starving?

On the advice of several people here who had reached goal, I upped my calories by 200 per day because I am around 20 lbs from my goal. I AM STARVING! Why? Yes, it's been an active weekend, but all my weekends are active. I haven't quite eaten the full 200 extra calories, more like 100-125 of them. I was never starving on the lesser calories, so why am I now? (and it's not TOM, or even close).

I can't see your diary, but my guess would be either too low fiber or too low protein or both.0

I would agree except I haven't changed anything that I've been eating all along. I am a super creature of habit, so I eat the same thing for breakfast every day and tend to eat leftovers from dinner the night before for lunch and either fish, chicken or beef and veggies for dinner. All I have changed is I have upped my calories a bit. Which means a larger a piece of fish or chicken or extra veggies.0

I have noticed that when I eat less my body will just get used to it and shut off the hunger feeling. Maybe your body is feeling hungrier because it is like "oh great, this hunger might be acted on now!"0

Your metabolism may be jump starting. OR you need to UP your protein--aim for AT LEAST 100 g a day.0
