I'd say if the scale is causing feelings of dread, to ditch it. It's a personal choice how often. I weigh in officially once a week, but I take the fluctuations in stride and have a tracker to show me the overall trend. Measurments and pictures give a better idea than the scale, I think. As for eating enough calories I…

I gotta figure out a short term goal, I haven't had one in a while, could explain some struggling. Woops. Long term I want to get under 200 this year (I lost about 35 from July-November last year then took December to maintain). Which at this point means I have another 66 to go which I think is possible.

The people who set theirs to 1 likely use TDEE in which case workouts are already factored in. I generally override the estimate to 50-75% to account for inaccuracy.

I think a nutritionist is a tool. At the end of the day, no matter what they tell you, it's up to you to do the work and get the results. That being said, some people benefit from it. Hearing and learning from someone who is qualified can be a major asset. It's like personal training, for some, worth the cost, for others…

OMG same thing here. My coworkers know I'm trying to lose weight because I've lost 40 and it's not something you can miss...I came in with schwarma the other day and my coworker goes "I thought you were on a diet". And when I said no I just fit it in my day he goes "It's a wonder you've lost anything eating that"...yep…

That's really fast. Unfortunately, also highly unlikely. Most methods of measuring body fat are going to be inaccurate and likely to vary on a hundred different factors. How are you having this number calculated? I get that the scale isn't necessarily a good measurement, but it's a starting point. I'd suggest taking…

I cringe, get irrationally angry, and sometimes physically ill about 80% of the time I can hear my coworker. I hate him so much so maybe that plays a part in how much he irritates me, but he chews with his mouth open, talks with his mouth full, and slurps his drink EVERY TIME. And he eats CONSTANTLY. I get a headache.

I don't know about the science of it, but I'm about 6' and had knee issues. I find I can run faster on the treadmill than outside without my knee bothering me because it's low impact. I usually set the incline to 2% to get closer to a running outside sensation in the winter. That said, I run way slower than you, and I have…

First of all what are your stats? Age/height/weight. What are your goals? And are you accurate with logging? Do you weigh all solid foods? How are you accounting for your workout cals?
-
Water, apples...tea (even herbal) those all get me. Otherwise, without caffeine, I hav eno idea. Go run outside, is it cold where you are? That'll perk ya up.
-
The reason it doesn't is because you really don't burn nearly as many calories as you do during cardio, and it's harder to figure because your heart rate isn't steady. You can choose to go into cardio and search "Strength Training" if you want to log a burn, or create your own exersise.

Until I started weighing my food, I thought I was being accurate, but I was really underestimating most foods by a lot. It ended up being a few hundred calories a day. Also, with only 7lbs to lose it will take you, on average, 14 weeks. Ish. And, I don't really know what you have 7lbs to lose? When you get that close to…

I went to my gym (A charter fitness so pretty basic) and was asking the trainers. I said "I know I have a lot to lose still, but I prefer to lift heavy" and the guy was opening his mouth and saying "well, that's not the best idea" when out of no where this 5'2'' tiny female trainer comes running up and goes "NO! She's my…

Nononononono. Weight loss is not linear. You are not going to have a perfectly matched weight loss every week. Why aren't you eating back your exercise calories? Do you weigh all your foods? How much do you have to lose?
-
I get charlie horses like that when I don't get enough potassium. Someone told me once to get more in my diet and once I started watching it, it really helped. I see you get decent amounts....you could have a different eloctrolyte out of whack?
-
I just mean, the word itself sounds weird to me, not the person saying it.
-
No. Even if I recognize that it's ok to go over sometimes, that in th normal course of living I can't be perfect every day, I still log those days that are over, to the best of my ability.
-
It's coke. It's all just coke. If that confuses people, pop. Never soda. Soda sounds, weird. Snooty.
-
First of all, this isn't a "diet" in the terms that people typically use the word. It's just a way of being conscious about your food decisions. There's no magic trick. I struggled recently with getting back in the correct mind-set as well. I don't know what to tell you besides if you keep plugging at it, your mind will…

I had a PF membership. For a while it was great, when I was too unnsure of myself to want to lift around other people, and I just used it for cardio. However, even with 87lbs still to lose, I find myself loving my strength training and PF just didn't have what I needed. Plus, even though I had lost about 30lbs in my time…

Dark chocolate and single serving packages, my friend. More expensive to get a single serving, so it's aslo a reason to not do so much. When I want sugar, I walk my happy butt a half mile to CVS, buy a single serving of skittles, and walk back. It's been a wonder keeping me in line.
-
I refuse to cut sauces, but I do recognize that until I started measuring them I was way underestimating. I have cut back tremendously, but I work them in. Granted my favorite thing in the world is worchestershire so it's not like it's a killer, but on the occasion I want ranch with my carrots, I will make it work.
-
Oh, and you should be logging your 30 minute workouts, you'll gain calories from that.
-
MFP tends to guess low. Have you ever figured your TDEE? And what are your goals? If you have them set too agressively, that effects it. If you're that hungry, you need more.
-
Don't push yourself too hard, there's only so much you can do in that time frame. Set your goals on MFP, eat at a reasonable deficit, and don't beat yourself up if you aren't perfect every day. Also, as someone with a rather...painful past, your sn is cause for alarm and if that's how you feel, or think, you should address…

Firstly, I'm going to use the disclaimer that this was how *I* felt, not trying to judge you or say you feel the same way, but if I can give insight I'd rather speak up. I'm tall as hell and was quite..well, fat. Bigger than you look in your picture by a lot. But, I loved myself for who I was (A long battle to be sure) and…

nerdfitness fitnessblender Those come to mind. They have lots of body weight type workouts.
-
Nah don't worry about subtracting anything, you're overthinking it. What I do, is only take 50-75% of the burn to account for error. Because most burns overestimate. So if your HRM says 600, since that would be more accurate than say MFP logs, I'd still count about 450 calories for a workout and log those.

I had wings the other day and came in under calories... It's up to you. If you want it, and can make it fit, go for it. If you don't want it, or can't make it fit, I find it's easiest to avoid the area completely. And chew gum.

To have surgery or not is obviously a contentious issue, but I'm glad you want to change for yourself. Try searching the forums for groups dedicated to those who have gone through the gastric sleeve, I believe there's a couple and people in a similar boat would be nice to be around I'm sure.
