  • So, here's the thing. All humans would benefit from a therapist, but especially those who are afraid they might have disordered thinking. Given the things you're saying, I really think it would be more beneficial for you to speak with a professional than anything. Just because you're already feeling uncomfortable about the…
  • For some people, having friends adds accountability. I find myself to be a mix of finding it useful and finding it not. Knowing people can see what I'm doing makes me more likely to hit finish on my diary for the day, even if I'm never going to talk to or meet any of these people for real. Sometimes it's motivational. I…
  • I know a lot of people that have had great success with IM, more because it makes them think about what they're eating since they have a limited time frame for it than anything, but I tried for a little bit and just not for me. I get crazy migraines and they seemed to be happening more frequently when I was doing this,…
  • I had to get really serious with myself and have a very stark conversation that was very honest. I truly don't believe "self sabotage" is a thing, but that could just be me being pedantic. I am an adult capable of making change and decisions, and I really have to constantly remind myself that I am the master of my body,…
  • I don't think people are nicer per say, but I think I am nicer, or less angry, or irritable, and so I perceive that people are nicer. I'm also a giant human with resting *kitten* face, and so I think people avoid me cause I give off some weirdo vibes. -shrug-
  • I use Alton Brown's taco potion recipe and it's my favorite thing ever.
  • I've been heavy lifting for about a solid year and a half, minus some surgery setbacks, and have not lost a single pound even though when I used to do only cardio I could drop weight quickly. What I *have* lost, includes inches, clothing sizes, insecurity, and body fat. I'm still a chunk with a long way to go, but I'm…
  • I haven't actually lost weight on the scale but I've dropped in measurements from all over. Most noticeably and what made me most excited was I went from a 44DD to a 44D so even though my rib cage remained the same, I definitely lost a fair amount. That's just where I lose from. I'm not bothered cause I hate the damn…
  • When I was on here a few years ago I had a lot of friends, and I really miss that camaraderie. So me, a 27 year old super tall lady, who dabbles in powerlifting (going to do a meet this July). Greyhound mother, unclean eater.
  • I wish I fit in bathtubs :( At 6'0 I tend to have problems with that. I'm taller than my shower currently. But this is a great idea, and a great reminder that we can still reward ourselves with something other than food.
  • I think it depends on what you're using it for and if you're using it. I got mine primarily to help monitor my heart rate and anxiety levels, the step counter is an added benefit for me, but I do not religiously try to get a certain number of steps per day.
  • I mean...I'm high carb right now because I had my gallbladder out unexpectedly recently and eating too much fat in a day makes me very ill still. It means I've been eating so many veggies. I do more than 20% protein too though. I dunno.
  • Like others have said, the hardest part is getting back into a habit with it. I always feel better when I'm consistently working out. I may not be on meds right now, but I do see a therapist every other week; but even with that, the workouts help. However, it's not just as easy as getting up and doing it, or everyone would…
  • What do you mean by that?
  • I learned this recently too! Abdominal surgery, even though it was only laparoscopic, was brutal and all the nurses were shocked that I, a 300lb person, was up and moving 3 hours post-op. I wish beyond anything I lost fat on my middle before anywhere else, but alas, I've got a crazy hourglass even though I'm big, and while…
  • I see a therapist every other week. That's not sarcasm, it's just what I have to do. Yeah you hear all the time about diet and workouts helping, and I would say it does, to a point, but I personally need more than that, and so to the therapist I go.
  • I'm a little West, a little South of Chicago.
  • I honestly have no idea. I stand at 6' tall, I'm under 310lbs usually...and I really only care about getting my deadlift to match or exceed my body weight (I'd be there by now but I ended up having a foot surgery and an abdominal surgery last year) soooo. Body Fat still higher than I'd like, based on my jiggly bits. But…
  • Workout endorphins? Every so often I get the workout woosh of adrenaline. Maybe you just hit the zone with it?
  • It varies wildly in the database because it varies wildly when you make it. Did you make it yourself? Create the recipe in the builder. Venison sausage usually gets cut with pork fat, so I'd want to create my own entry if I made it myself rather than try to guess.
  • I mean, it could have just been a good day. I have good days and bad days, and sometimes there's no measurable difference between the days, but I'll hit my lifts easier than the day before for no good reason. Honestly, I don't really think about it too much. I'm glad you had a good day and a great workout. I hope it's…
  • My therapist had suggested a while back that if I want fast food I have to park and go inside. Man, I go shame buy fast food a lot less often. Seems silly but it worked for me. I still enjoy food out with friends, I just plan ahead and check the menu out before I get there so I know what to order.
  • Well I'm about 6', 300ish lbs, and I don't have a goal for weight loss because I'm training powerlifting and plan to compete this summer and while I understand I have a lot of body fat I could stand to lose, I care less about the scale than I do about how sweet my deadlifts are currently. Still trying to eat better and…
  • I also find there is a big difference between actual hunger and my brain saying "You're hungry you need to eat something now"...it's a lot of work for me to figure out true hunger vs wanting to eat. If that makes sense. For me, a shake wouldn't be worth it because if I don't chew my food I have a much harder time sorting…
  • I don't like typical breakfast foods like eggs of any type, and I don't eat pork so there goes sausage and bacon mostly. I'm also lazy in the mornings and don't want to cook. I eat sandwiches for breakfast a lot. Breakfast doesn't have to mean an Ihop menu. It's just the first meal of the day.
  • What if I'm rude, but happy about it? No misery here. In all honestly, a "rude people" thread pops up every so often. I think it's a failure to communicate effectively. I've been here off and on for years and the dominating theme when a rude people thread crops up, is it's usually (not always I know I know) because someone…
  • Speaking as a 6' tall 300lb lady, I wear a high waist 2 piece swim suit because I like it, and if someone has an issue with that, I can always step on them.
  • I'm sorry but with negative wind chills it just isn't safe to say "no excuses" for me. I find something else to do in the winter, my safety is more important. Sometimes, excuses are valid.
  • I wear form fitting leggings to work out, that are not see through, I test them before I wear them outside of my home haha. But I don't wear anything under them. I think because I tend to wear thongs usually and I found it was just super uncomfortable to work out in a thong no matter what kind of pants I'm wearing.
  • I don't drink coffee EXCEPT in December because I get an iced coffee from Dunkin with the peppermint mocha flavor shot in it.
