I find that drinking a water bottle about half an hour before a workout perks me up.

I have a higher heart rate because I'm heavy. If I'm in the upper 170s, that when I know I'm getting an effective workout. If your dr isn't concerned I wouldn't be either. As long as you aren't dizzy, overly short of breath, faint, etc.

I tend to be a bit nicer online, only because in person I say the first thing that comes out of my mouth and only think about it a second or two later. Whereas online, I have the time to think before I type and post. My personality traits and everything are the same, I just don't have the same foot-in-mouth syndrome going…

How much do you have to lose? Because 2lbs a week is super aggressive and usually only reccomended if you have about 75lbs or more to lose. I'm at a 1000 calorie a day deficit and as I'm approaching only 75 more to lose, it's getting really difficult to maintain. Whatever the number MFP gives you, you want to eat that…

It depends on how you have MFP set. If you have it set to sedentary and want to add in some extra calories because you walked more steps than you would at the sedentary rate, I would create your own workout under cardio. Name it something like "Pedometer adjustment" and you can add in your numbers off what the pedometer…

I find that a restrictive mentality does not work for me, so I will work something I want into my day. I also spend more time cooking, and finding alternatives. I love a good hamburger, but there's ways to make it at home so it's "better" than what I was eating before. For me it's been about finding the balance of what…

I'm also 23 and my boyfriend is 29. I feel like sometimes it's a huge gap, given how young I am. I may be mature for my age, but there's some things he's miles ahead of me with. There's also plenty of things I feel we match perfectly, or I am ahead of him with. So as long as we keep the lines of communication open, and he…

I may not understand your lifestyle, but you're an adult, and if you are truly happy with the way your life is, good for you. As for the husband. Personally, what I think it comes down to, is you asserting something you really want to do for the first time. It's a bump in the road and a change, and I've noticed that a lot…

Maintaining usually means a day to day variance of a few pounds, so I wouldn't worry. If you're measuring your servings accurately, you're fine. Protein bars in and of themselves will not make you gain weight, it's good they keep you satiated. Make sure to weigh your food and all that. And fluctuations are part of life,…

I was mortified this summer because I did not. But I'm 6', and was 298. I've lost five inches from my hips since then. You're much smaller than me, you should be ok. Good luck getting them to contact you back though. I tried before I went and never heard anything, filed a complaint after I went just saying I wish someone…

Go ahead and add me. I don't live in Sch but my work was located there. I live in Wheaton, work in South Elgin. Only about 25 min away.

A couple of times. A few times in the beginning when I couldn't do the things I felt I should have been able to. And then the first time I jogged a mile straight I cried for like five minutes haha

I bruise when I stop eating as much because I don't think I get enough iron and whatnot in those situations. If I eat more, I don't bruise but I never got it checked out or anything.

I think people have different goals and intentions and ideas and before giving advice you should clarify if they want it. For me, I keep my diary open to friends. If someone tells me out of no where that I'm wrong, I'll probably be offended. Now, if I were to ask a question and someone says something, that's different. But…

Isn't it like 1500 min for men and 1200 for women? I bet that's why. You shouldn't be eating that little. I'd kill someone if I was that low.

Coke Zero and Diet Root Beer (Barq's or Mug)

AH see, shows what I know haha. I was under the impression it was a different field of study. Thanks for the info.

I'm just gunna ignore most of the comments on here but I would like to point out that my mother has had some health issues recently that she's been trying to get diagnosed. She also gained about 30lbs since first being diagnosed with an auto immune disorder. Recently she was referred to an endochrinologist to see if he…

So when I hit my full height at 16 I was about 170lbs and thinnish with slight muscle. My goal right now is to get back to about 180 but I'll be more focused on body fat percentages as I get closer. I'm 6', started at 307 and am currently 273.9.

Just about 6'

ohmygoodness. What I meant to say was that there's no reason to acomplish something super fast (like sprinting) when it's ok to long and slow like you'd drop your mile time down if you had to run lots of them together. Now that I've been embarassed off the internet for the morning...
-
I should rephrase and say sprint instead of race. I think that's the imagry I was trying to convey? Woops. Point being, there's no rush. Take your time and do it right.

My coworker sells the Young Living brand essential oils and keeps telling me how if I rub the grapefruit extract on my stomach I'll lose fat. And how if my boss gave her son (who has auto immune disorders and liver issues as well as crohn's and a myriad of other things) a combo of three of them every day he wouldn't need…
-
Possible? For some. If you have a lot to lose, yes. The closer to goal you are the slower the process is. It's a marathon, not a race.

I override the calorie estimates to half what they say and try to eat them back. I eat them back because I have my settings as "Sedentary" due to my desk job and in my head it makes more sense to me to track all my workouts rather than using TDEE and having to rely on burning enough calories through the week to eat the…

Whatever I want and have calories for. Though I stay away from apples of any kind because I have freaky dreams.

I work a desk job, and I walk across the street to CVS sometimes. If it's a walk to that building, or around my job, or at home, no because that's normal activity level. If I decide on one of my breaks to walk the mile loop around my building, I count it because it's not part of my norm.
-
Yeah that's hard. I struggle when we have candy out at the office because it's free and it's there. My best advice is to occupy yourself. Chew gum, guzzle water, and be realistic about letting yourself eat something once in a while, as long as it's logged properly.
-
Can you chew gum at work? I find that if my mouth has that minty flavor going on, I won't snack.

How are you supposed to know you're succeeding without a goal? The possibility of failure exists in all aspects of life and not setting a goal that you want to achieve because you might not achieve it is so lazy to me. Set a goal. If you hit it, FANTASTIC! If you don't, that's ok because now you learned how adjust your…
