My pet hate is the investment mainstream gyms make in filling all there floor space with resistance machines for each and every possible movement the body can make instead of investing in free weights, barbells and power racks to enable people to workout safely & effectly without a spotter. I would much rather see a row of…

Hi There, I would thoroughly recommend running outside as often of possible, set yourself a few 5k routes around your local area I use 3: 1) A variety of flats and gradual steady hills. 2) A tough run including steep inclines and declines. 3) A flat run, or as flat as you can make it. This will help vary your training and…

A key thing in weight loss is what those calories are made of; i.e Carbohydrates, Fats, Protein (Macronutrients). If you eating more carbs than you should be and not burning them off so that you can move on to burn the fat, you will be forever struggling to lose the weight. You need to look at what your daily intake of…

I agree with the above, unless you are scientically tested during each workout calories burned on a treadmill or via MFP will always be an estimate. In my experience, I would recommend using MFP as a standardized measure as different makes of equipment will project different figures. It is the same will weighing scales and…

My best advice would be to carb control, maintain low refined carbs in small portions throughout the day to maintain your blood sugars. Don't have too much of an emphasis on fats, as long as they are good fats in moderation (Walnut Oil / Nuts etc) you will be fine, ramp up your protein intake to keep you full and help you…

Personally I think you should aim to get a body fat % of between 16-18% as this is a true measure of how your body is composed. That way you will be feeling lean and not be losing muscle in the process. Great work and keep it up! Kyle Bonsor PT Bonza Fitness

Hi Chelsea, The best thing to do is set yourself goals: Run a 5K, Run a 10K, Run a Half Marathon, Run A Marathon. But before this Run/Jog/Walk a 5k, whatever you do just complete the distance, time yourself at set a PB. This will then set a precedent for every 5k you do after that. You wont believe how motivated you could…

Well here is my story: When I was 9 years old my next door neighbours were all killed in a triple murder by their own son who was a paraniod schizophrenic. This lead to myself unknowingly suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) throughout my childhood and my way of coping with all this was eating. Day by day I…

Hi There Motal003, The lack of weight lost could be from a variety of factors, mainly changes in body composition i.e muscle growth through exercise balanced out by fat loss. This could be why you havent lost as much as you expect. My advice would be: 1. Measure more than just the weighing scales; measure you body fat %,…
