  • I haven't been able to get on the forums for a few days, so this was a great surprise when I came back!! Thank everyone so much for your kind words. It means so much coming from people who understand the work you put into it! For the ones who asked about exercise, I lift 3 times a week with a personal trainer. We do a…
  • Thanks, y'all! It's harder to post these pictures than I thought it would be, but I hope it will help others! And yes, I am so much happier than before. You'll definitely be posting your own success story!
  • I'm 5'10 and seemed to stay a size 16/18 FOREVER. (My highest weight was 240 or so.) It seemed like once I lost about 40 lbs the sizes just dropped like crazy. I'm 170 in a solid size 8 now, so it does happen! Just seems to take longer for us taller girls.
  • Primarily with my SO. It's changed our relationship with me having so much more confidence. We are working on finding a new equilibrium, which is tough. Primarily my other ones are ok, besides a few who got jealous, but like you said, I wasn't that close to them anyway.
  • I was waiting on the leg press machine this morning. The guy in front of me jumped off after finishing his sets and started to take the weight off (there was a 45 lb plate on each side). I told him very nicely, "No sir, I need to add a plate, not take this one off." I ended my sets with three 45 plates on each side.…
  • THIS. I keep telling people my personality is different now that I've lost weight, & they look at me like I'm insane. The confidence & self-esteem I have now though makes me almost a whole new person. It's good and bad...I feel great, but it's affecting some of my relationships in a negative way. It's something that is…
  • I've been working with personal trainers since last May, and my current one since August. It took me a couple of tries to get one that really understood what I was looking for and was willing/able to put in the time to help me get there. We work 3x's a week and if I need a routine to do he will usually text me one that…
  • I eat around 1900 - 2000 calories a day, depending on my workouts, but I do pre-log. I try to do weekly (mainly for grocery lists), but usually end up editing in the morning every day. I do it mainly to make sure I hit my macros, but it has helped me stay around my calorie limits. I think my diary is open, you're welcome…
  • I did this. Just consistently focused on the next 10 lbs. The funny part is, I'm now down to my original goal weight...and focused on the next 10 lbs! (I reassessed my goals as I got lower.) It definitely worked for me; I'm down 60 lbs. My next "weight" goal is 165, and then I'm going to go more by body fat % than weight…
  • I'm 5'10, started at 235.4 and just hit 173 this morning (BF % of 24.7%). Originally 175 was my weight goal, but I want to get that BF% down a little bit more and lose some of the flabby parts. I started lifting from the beginning, though, and I can say it's made all the difference in the world. I weigh about what I did my…
  • I've never tipped my trainer, but I know he gets paid well through the company he works for. I guess it depends on the company policy.
  • I signed up to compete in a fitness competition at my gym. I was on the fence about it, and my trainer says "it might help you get those last 12 lbs off!" Considering I started off trying to lose 60, it sounded crazy to think I'm so close to the end. I've actually DONE this for almost a year...and plan to keep revising my…
  • Definitely be proud of yourself for working out! I've lost 55 lbs through diet/strength training (and cardio when my trainer forces me...ha!), and one important thing I have learned about myself is just because I've lost weight, doesn't mean I necessarily love myself anymore now than I did then. What I am trying to say is,…
  • Not sure if this is necessarily "scale-related" or not, but I was down 2% body fat this week! That brings me to 24.7%, which is down almost 10% from where I started! Almost to that athlete range...
  • My training company is going to use me as a "before and after" in a new campaign they're doing! It's a fitness competition they are starting, and I almost fell over when they said they wanted to use me as the inspiration. I sometimes don't see the 51 lb difference...but apparently they do!
  • I don't comment much, but I'm 28, 5'9", and started (this time!) at 235. So I know your pain! My journal is private, but I'm going to make it public in the next few days if you want to look at it. I work with a trainer and am focusing more on leaning out now that I've lost some weight. Food wise, I've moved from watching…
  • I've been going back and forth between 240 and 230 the past few weeks as well. It tough when the scale seems stuck! Looks like we have about the same amount to lose as well. We can both do it! :) By the way, awesome success so far! Good luck!
