End of thread. This person speaks the truth. Fat reduction is the only way to do that.

I only think about the run for the most part. I focus on my breathing and it almost becomes like meditation. I stopped running with music about 2 months ago and it was one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. There is much more focus and clarity to my thoughts.

I like the cut of your jib, good sir!

I have a pulled tendon so I can't run for a couple weeks (sucks so bad). Today I was doing push ups between commercials and wasn't anywhere near as winded as I would have been a couple years ago!

I agree. Why is it that we punish ourselves first before we reward ourselves whenever we are under stress? Hit the gym, find support, and follow your passion as long as it keeps you active. No matter what we are going through, the choice is still ours. Don't punish your temple, worship it and reward it accordingly. You…

I would encourage you to look at it differently. I don't really believe you "fall off" of anything, I believe that you are merely taking your journey. There will always be challenges. There will always be disappointments. There will always be successes. You are already the individuals you see in the photos because the seed…

I wrote in one of my blogs, here on MFP, that the universe basically conspires against you. It's goal is to ultimately destroy you. Obviously, it wins in the end, but I believe in making it fight for every inch it gains. If it is going to take me out of the game, it had damn well better pack a lunch, because there is no…

I definitely understand where you're coming from. Someone was asking me once, back when I was strength training (running now) why was I doing it? I told them that I want to be strong enough to carry my great grandkids on my back without a single problem. Fantastic post and thank you for sharing. Aesthetics will come and…

Great job! Now where is that smile!

Any answers out there? Anyone, lol!

That's probably just water weight. That is why weighing yourself too often is discouraged. It can cause you to not believe in yourself. You are on a journey to which the destination is not always black and white. I often tell my friends to trust in their journey. You know what to do and if you are doing that then there…

No problem there even at my heaviest. The added stamina from running has done miracles for "endurance" though.

Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO! That one can get me running up buildings if I so desired, lol!

Don't know if this one is just for the females, but I always feel sexy. I don't feel that way because of anything related to me physically, but simply because I can. Why not? I'm the only me in the world and I'll be damned if I call myself trash. Not gonna do it!

I don't track my coffee. Ever. It's black with sugar and I average 2-3 cups per day. I also average a 500 calories deficit, so it's not hurting any gains, or in my case, any losses.

I ran on Sunday: 3.31 miles I just saw that you were counting week 0

MFP is a tool. Instead of hoping it works for you, try thinking of it like this: You can drive a nail into a board using a hammer easily. However, the speed and success with which is done depends on the effort you put into it. MFP is no different. You will get out of it what you put into it. The good thing is that your…

I wish you the very best of luck in your journey. While I definitely understand that there is nothing inherently wrong with cookies and cakes, it's all about portion control. In your case it may be prudent to be a bit more conservative than most when it comes to this, especially if you live by yourself and don't have…

Awesome job dude!

That is some excellent advice! You don't have to hope because the ability is already in you. You just have to find the will! There is plenty of support and ideas here to help you along the path. Truly, the most difficult part of this journey is simply getting started. Good luck!

If I tell you that you have a pretty face or if I tell you that you have pretty eyes, that's exactly what I mean. Certainly, you got people that have alternate intentions with what they mean, however, you may pass up a great opportunity when making assumptions. I used to always think that no one talked to me because I was…

Fantastic question and the most important!

I listen to music when I'm running during the day. However, I have switched to running around 4 AM and I do not use music because it is dark. I don't know if I'll go back to music though because my pace immediately and dramatically increased without it.

I'm going to do the challenge... put me down for 100 miles in January!
-
I'll clear the 356 miles easily, but the running everyday challenge I won't be able to committ to. I always take 2 days off during the week and running 1 mile to get the numbers in would be difficult to fit into an already tight schedule. That having been said, I think it is a fantastic challenge for those that have the…

Wow... That was a heavy blow... Good luck on your journey. You can totally do it!

Never really been told anything rude about my weight. I used to hate when my grandmother would call me "big boy" and I can't stand when people call me "HOSS." I don't have to worry about it as much since I'm not living as far south as I used to, but it got pretty annoying. I'm a big dude, just not "fat" per se, so I guess…

I tell mine to get like Ludicrous "Whoop Azz! Let security carry them out!" Walk away if you can, but if you can't they know what to do C-C-C-Combo B-B-B-Breaker!!! I will never tell them not to defend themselves. As long as it's talk, nothing to worry about.

Obviously not a sister but definitely want to offer encouragement. Blacks, in general, are falling victim to obesity the hardest from complications of hypertension, heart disease, and a whole slew of weight related issues. I actually take back calling people a victim of obesity (barring health issues that could actually…
