@Mami1976D Yes, BED just became recognized very recently. And thanks for the encouraging words. You're right; it's very much an "uh-oh, this is REAL" at the same time being like "hey, since this is REAL, I can get help" sort of feeling. @minties82 Thanks for sharing the link, I think it's more like I don't want to be seen…

Thanks for posting! I've been yo-yo-ing within the same 5-10lbs since January (after losing 35ish pounds), but just started LCHF a few weeks ago. Finally starting to see the scale move down again is encouraging, and I'm only 1 pound away from getting out of the yo-yo range. During your 6-weeks, did you notice progress in…

I can empathize with this, though not exactly in the same way. My boyfriend and I have this conversation a lot. He knows I am working hard; I had lost about 35lbs before we met, but my weight has kind of stayed in the same 5-10lb range since then (almost 8 months ago), until I just started LCHF. He of course says (and his…

Minneapolis, MN - our "heat wave" finally broke this week too! Looking forward to Fall; it's my favorite season, even though it only lasts a nanosecond here ;-)

Check out the Low Carbers Daily Forum (LCD) in the groups. Such a great group of supportive people!

For me, the high-end of the healthy range is 141, which I think I may have weighed when I was in middle school (maybe!). So at this point I don't think that's realistic; that, and it would mean that I have to lose over 100lbs from this point and that is really intimidating. Right now, my first "big" goal is to just get out…

I've been running for about 6 months now, but just started lowering my carbs significantly in the last 2 weeks (started at 100g/day, now try to stay around 50g/day). I've definitely noticed my pace slowing lately; granted, I run terribly slow to begin with. I'm trying to just work through it, and not get too discouraged…

I've noticed from the app (iPhone) it takes awhile to actually show the food in the log. I made the mistake of trying to add again, and then I have everything counted double! I definitely prefer the webpage to the app.

Welcome! I'm new to the group too - feel free to add me! If you haven't already, checkout the LCD LaunchPad on the main page; there's some great information there for getting started with low carb.

I have a whole board of these on Pinterest! Great thread idea!

Thanks for the responses! I've tweaked my percentages to get as close to 80g carbs (thanks for the idea of shooting for 80g so that with the exercise adjustment it still only tops out around 100g), and 100g of protein.

Just from doing a search of the boards, it sounds like (as of a month ago) net carbs wasn't an option for Premium, you'd still have to do the subtraction. Some people suggested arranging your nutrition columns so that Fiber was right next to Carbs, making it quicker/easier to subtract. I wish they would add net carbs…

This is Harley. He will eat pretty much anything, but especially loves cheese. I'm guessing he's going to be happy that I'm going back to LC; that means lots of cheese in the house!

I just conducted this super-simple crockpot experiment today: Chicken breast/tenders 1 large yellow onion, sliced Franks Red Hot sauce (I just poured a bunch on top of the chicken) Cook 8hrs on low, makes a great shredded chicken that can be used in salad/lettuce wraps, or eaten plain. I mixed in some sour cream to cut…

I'll add you! Our stats are similar: I'm 29, and my highest was 286, so I know where you're coming from. But I'm a shortie @ 5'2"

In October of 2014, I watched my brother run his 4 (or 5th?) marathon. While waiting for him at one of the mile markers, my cousin and sister-in-law had a conversation about how my brother had asked each of them to train for a year (or two, in my SIL's case) and run the marathon with him next time. They were both…

We both had the same starting weight (287), but I am only 5'2" Like you, I have a really hard time deciding what my ultimate goal weight should be, so I decided to break it down into smaller chunks - about two years ago, I was able to get down to 210, and even that felt really, really good, so that is my first…

This happened to me a few weeks ago at the gym. I was working with my personal trainer, doing crunches and Russian twists with a med ball while sitting on a bosu (two of my favorite exercises, actually), when some guy came up and said: "You're doing great! Keep it up! I've lost 40lbs from working out, so you can do it…

So glad to see someone else with their BodyMedia armband!! I LOVE mine too! Way to go! :flowerforyou:

I try to buy myself a cute new water container every so often (my mom says I own way too many!). Just last week I bought a teal mason-jar style with a handle and a straw, and it helps me drink more. Maybe that's silly, but I am motivated by little things like that! I've seen photos of people who mark their water bottles…

Thanks everyone. I just got home...from the gym! I decided to try one of the other gym locations (it's technically closer to my house, but only by a few minutes). I didn't do personal training, but I did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes, which is more purposeful activity than I've done in a long time! And, I got myself…

I just had these for my after-dinner snack! Love them! I noticed that they've started making them with almonds on top too (slightly more calories, but totally worth it).
