OMG This thread.

My original statement was kind of misleading sounding I guess. We go to the gym together, but he typically walks on the treadmill and then does machine weights. My greatest hope is that one day he will come ask me how to use the squat rack.

This. I've eaten three plain bagels in one sitting. But if you give me some chicken sauteed in butter with some broccoli I'll be full half way through. I can very easily overeat on carbs, and I find that's what I binge on when I eat.

Yup. I am such a Daddy's girl too. We bond over zombie apocalypses and stuff. I think when we're at the gym tonight I'm going to tell him I'm training for a zombie run.

Everyone in my life has been pretty supportive. My parents say they're proud of me and what not. When I started weighing food last year, I thought my roommates (3 other women) would think I was nuts. But not one of them said one thing about it. I hear a lot of the "Oh that's unhealthy! This is healthier! No chemicals! More…

I just had luvo turkey meatloaf that was 220 calories - 17 g protein. Do some extra jumping jacks?
-
I'm glad you made it out! Unfortunately I didn't go. I was having a lot of anxiety - too anxious to run outside and too anxious to drive myself to the gym. I need to work on that. :/ Stronglifts tonight with my Dad! I hope the squat rack isn't taken so I can do everything in the correct order. :grumble:

Jicama is delicious! I had it for the first time in Texas. I heard it described as a cross between a potato and a pear - and although that sounds weird, I think it's true. My friend says her family cuts up jicama and serves it with lime and chili powder. I haven't tried it that way but it sounds yummy and healthy.

I can never wrap my head around this... As women, we are so conditioned to focus on the scale. People like Tracy Anderson are advocating for women not to lift heavy and to eat less then a thousand calories. Seeing the amazing changes in these women's bodies is almost unbelievable to me. But it WORKS. Eat food. Lift heavy…

I find I only get bad breath if I have coffee with milk and sugar. Coffee breath went away when I started drinking it black. :P I'm having my morning cup right now. I need it when I get up in the morning or I'm not very pleasant.

I love turnips! They are bitter, but I like a roasted root vegetable mix (turnips, parsnips, carrots, potatoes etc) to balance out each vegetables individual flavor. A little oil, salt, pepper and a hot oven.

Wow. Some harsh people on here. Believe it or not, it is possible to maintain a social life (which may or may not include the occasional alcoholic drink) AND do well in school at the same time AND stay fit and healthy. OP - I turned 21 this summer and I'll be starting my senior year in three weeks. I don't drink very…

This thread is full of fail. OP - eat what tastes good to you that allows you to stay within your healthy weight range. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks or doesn't think about milk.

There's nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners. I personally do not use them often - usually only diet soda - because I don't like the taste. If you like the taste, and you'd rather spend calories in something other then sugar, then use them. I don't get the fear mongering around "unnatural" and "processed" food.

I had Italian sausage with roasted vegetables and caesar salad.

It's a lifestyle change for me, but with challenges along the way. Some of them are goals that I have (finish C25k, 12 weeks of strong lifts), but then some of them are actual challenges. Like not eating any of the three types of cookies, the muffin, ice cream or the extra dessert that I could have had when I was in the…

I had two servings of captain crunch berry with 1% milk. So effing good.
-
Yay! Looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. I'll be running outside hopefully, so I'm a little nervous.

I did my workout out of order today because of dudes curling in the squat rack. -.- Hip mobility stretches BP - 5x5x55# Squats - Warmup, 5x5x85# Barbell Rows - 5x5x60# <--- These were HARD. Still working on my squat stance. Trying to focus on breathing in, pushing my chest out and really contracting those shoulder blades.…

Exercise can actually help colds, but like the other user said, try working out at home to spare the others at the gym.

THIS. I switched to a recyclable plastic water bottle that has a built in filter. I don't have any problems with tap water, but I don't like the variation in taste. The filter gives the water a more refreshing taste and saves the plastic water bottles I would have used from the landfill.

I had oats with vanilla, peaches, half and half and walnuts. Two cups of coffee. And a few pieced of fruit from a fruit bowl. My breakfast was kinda lower protein then I need so I''m feeling hungry.... :/
-
Yup. OP - It is totally understandable why you would believe the women get bulky thing. The media propagates the myth that lifting heavy weights is bad for women and desireable for men. I used to believe that too. But I've learned I love to lift weights and so does my body.
-
-Be able to run a 5k in under 30 minutes -Be able to complete a 10k -Be able to squat my body weight -Be able to complete push-ups and pull-ups unassisted -Become more outdoorsy. I want to be able to backpack, kayak and rock climb. Preferably with a partner who likes to do those things too!
-
Yum, I would try that with a dash of soy.
-
Okay, bye.

Right!? Because apparently I have to defend myself... OP: There are ways to manage your hunger without buying the coffee bean extracts. If you are cheap like me, find ways to manage your hunger BEFORE you shell out money for a last resort supplement. You may find you didn't really need the supplement after all.
-
Well... That escalated quickly.
-
Eh. I get hungry if I go to bed late relative to my last meal. Like I'll probably go to bed at 1. I ate dinner at 5:30 and had two lace cookies in between. I just ignore it and keep procrastsleeping. It's probably just a psychological adjustment for you. Eat closer to bed time if it's a big problem. Don't take the…
