C9 is the way to go BUT look carefully at the tags. There is a pyramid and I think 3 levels. I think they are called premium, advanced and active? The clothing may look exactly the same but the active will be sweat absorbing cotton that will weigh you down, chafe etc but it'll be the cheapest. Premium will be the most…

Blisters and callouses are issues as you know and a pair of properly fitted running shoes will eliminate them and your running will improve. I certainly understand being on a strict budget but treating your feet right impacts not just your running but your well being in general. I'm not saying that the C9s aren't right for…

Due to my wisdom teeth surgery and unpleasant side effects from it I sat out most of July. In the last week I'm running again and figured out why my running shoes were "not quite right." I'm at 9.7 miles of 20.

That is great! Be proud of your boot gap!

Great post! Thank you for sharing your story and Congratulations on your hard work! I'm feeling inspired!

One time I tried to greet this really attractive running guy with a chest bump. He didn't seem to appreciate my friendly gesture. I can only assume he doesn't care for really short, super sweaty, slow moving heavy girls or bikes. Did I mention I was biking at that time?

Great work and yay for a goal of a healthy 140 pounds!

Nod and smile while running/biking the forest path. It's friendly and just in case there comes a day when I pass out on the path, people will want to help the nice friendly girl instead of kicking me and running on while chuckling diabolically. Edited to add: I sweat a LOT from my face and a nod/smile let's people know…

Shirts: Champion at Target (there is almost always some of these on clearance in the lingerie section). Bottoms: R.e.i. and new balance. I've scored a couple great pairs of yoga pants at Old Navy too.

My wisdom teeth are coming out mid month and the surgeon and pharmacist say I can't exercise on these meds so my revised goal for July is 20 miles. I was really hoping to work on my pace this month. Sigh.
-
Last run of June was a hard fought 3.67 miles today which means I finally hit a monthly running challenge! Woo, I'm proud!
-
Since I'm going to have my wisdom teeth yanked sometime this month I'm going to stick to my goal of 40. I'm hoping to finish up June tomorrow!
-
2.08 miles on the tm had to cut my run short. So close!

Since I've been on MFP I've thought YOU are a badass! Great work!

I just watched a review of summer shorts at gingerrunner.com. He is a huge fan of pockets and he said all of the shorts he reviewed had a ladies model as well. Tons of pockets in the 5 shorts he reviewed.

How about the library? That's how I read it!

Wow. His first question should have been are you okay? Don't feel bad about your weight instead try to feel good about the positive change you are making in your life. The world is an imperfect place and things break even though they shouldn't. Personally I would think long and hard about whether your husband has your best…

I like you. A lot. :flowerforyou:

3.65 miles on the tm today. I really thought that this was the month I was going to hit my goal. I'm so close I can taste it! Or perhaps that's the pain pills for my wisdom teeth. I'm dizzy just sitting here but I'm not giving up hope yet! Good running everyone!
-
Well done! What a great example you are to your kids!

The loudest treadmill runners at my gym are not the heavier folks. These people just run harder. Don't worry about it, go do your workout and go home. Repeat.
-
3.57 miles on the tm today. Got my new shoes laced up the way I prefer and it was a great run!

MeanderingMam is totally right. It depends on your current fitness level. A lot of starting 5k programs recommend that you are able to WALK for 30-45 minutes at a very brisk pace before starting to run. Take it slow to let your body recover (frozen peas helped my sore feet a lot), stick with it when it's frustrating and…

3.61 miles today on the tm with new shoes.

I'm all about headbands so I have a large collection. I do like buff but my favorite is headsweats. The regular version not the step up which is okay but has an elastic bit in the back that I find makes it more likely to slide off.

6/1 3.5 miles tm 6/3 3.43 miles tm 6/5 3.28 miles tm 6/8 3.33 miles Color Run. 6/10 3.38 miles tm 6/12 4 miles tm 6/17 2.6 miles tm. New shoes a bit better but they are going back! Should hit my goal. Happy running all!

Another vote for Body Glide. Also make sure you change out of sweaty clothes and shower afterwards because sweat glands can become clogged and irritated.

That is awesome! I hope to be able to say the same thing one day.
