@williamwj2014 no I don't drink coffee or soda so I did not cut back on caffeine. Also, just because you didn't have those symptoms doesn't mean others don't.
-
Lol @TrailBlazzinMN . I just figure we will have to agree to disagree as usual. I think saying it's similar to is a good compromise.
-
Not if you have insulin resistance... But I still named a bunch of other symptoms :|
-
Not even similar? Tough crowd. I won't try to convince you. But I will say when I cut back I got severe headaches, chills, fever, body aches, and you feel awful. You are weak. And a doctor typically monitors you very closely when you reduce sugar and carbs drastically. In my book that's close enough. But I understand how…

I think we all may have missed the question a bit though. OP asked if you think cravings can me SIMILAR to drug addictions. Not whether sugar is addictive or not. I *think* most of us can at least agree that it's similar. Not the same, but similar.
-
I had a dietician and nutritionist when I was having trouble with sugar. They were the ones that initially pointed out that they thought I may be addicted. When we removed the sugar had bad aches and it made me extremely moody. So my point there is that, yes, there are people in the health industry that you do see for the…

Lol OMG tears in my eyes @TrailBlazzinMN and @Jersey__Devil I guess I set myself up for that one. But I'm not the only woman that loves her ice cream.
-
Lol! I've come pretty darn close. Ice cream is something special for me.

@TrailBlazzinMN Love your post. Thank you for sharing.

First, losing 1.5-2lbs each week is great. You should be proud. When you are eating 1500 calories, you will want to make sure it's 1500 calories of nutritious whole foods. Do you have a fridge? A lot of your diet should be veggies. Are you getting enough of those when you are eating out? Often take out places slack on the…

Haha understandable. If you do crave chocolate only buy a small serving. Like just one bar instead of a box. And get a darker chocolate instead of milk chocolate. If you go to a more fancy chocolate, you can pick how dark your chocolate is. Maybe just go a tad over traditional milk chocolate. Try around 68% cocoa.

Certain foods are triggers for people. For me, it's ice cream. I cannot keep it around or I will eat it all and then keep going the next day. So for me, I don't buy it. I just can't control myself around it. If I have an ice cream craving, I purchase froyo and get a smaller serving. That way I can't binge on a gallon of…

Yes. But this is a hotly debated topic.

It depends on you. If you are insulin resistant or have an intolerance then yes, carbs are the worst. For me, eating a lot of simple carbs makes me feel sluggish and I usually end up bloated and retain a ton water. BUT if you don' have any medical reasons, then no i don't think carbs are all that bad. You know your body…

Can you replace junk fast food places with healthier restaurants? Like Freshii, or WholeFoods hot bar, or Just Fresh, or places that cater to healthy eaters?
-
@mahsa88i what is a slimming belt? The waist trainers? Or what do you do with it?
-
You can assure you don't get any money stolen from you by losing your weight :)

Snippy for no reason! I will try to keep it friendly. When I played, it was with a group of women that I know. Most of us reached our goals, there were a few that didnt. So yes, the extra $5 came from the ones that did not reach their goals. Diet Bet is a fun way to reach short term weight loss goals. It's light hearted…

There is very little incentive to cheat for yourself. You can cheat so you don't lose your money. But that really doesn't effect the other players. Also there is little incentive to join diet bet just to cheat because you won't get rich off the dietbet. They way it's set up you won't make much money from winning. And…
-
The people gaming the scale don't effect you. Even if they cheat, and reach their goals because they cheated, you still get your money back if you meet your goals.
-
Nothing. There can be more than one winner. In fact many times there are. Typically you just get whatever you put into the bet back. Your only goal is to make sure that you reach your goal. As long as you do, you still get your money back.
-
You have to take a picture on the scale with an index card with the secret code word. Your feet have to be in the picture and the scale. The dietbet people then check the photo for photoshopping.
-
Lol yea it's something. But not the biggest motivator.
-
Yes! I've done 2 diet bets. Each time I won about $30. And paid about $25 to enter. I found the dietbets to be a bit stressful though. I'm competitive and I don't like to lose to other people. So in addition to working out and eating right, I was stressed. I remember saying I'd never do it again. But now that time has…
