Anyone who has Blue Cross insurance can get a discounted gym membership. It's $25 a month and you can use any member gym in the US. For me that includes LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness, and a few local high end clubs. It's awesome, and it seems like very few people know about it.

You'll see some fast weight loss for sure, but you will be losing muscle and water, not fat if you cut your carbs to 20%.

Heart rate and high blood pressure are 2 different things. Your hrm uses your age, height, weight, gender, and your heart rate to determine your calorie burn. Your heart rate will begin to decrease as you become more cardio fit. I know that when my husband and I used to do spin class together he burned nearly twice the…

5'1" and 125.

Polar's new M400 does both. Wear the chest strap to record your workout like you would with your FT7. Wear the watch the rest of the day and it's an activity tracker also.

I'm retired, so I do as I please. :D

You are so awesome, friend! I gained after my mom passed away and it took everything I had in me to not go off the deep end. I still struggle now and then, but am better equipped to deal with it. Having friends like you as an example and for support plays a huge part in my success.

I totally understand. I recently went back to my old ways and rode the binge bandwagon for awhile. I stopped beating myself up and analyzed the situation from my head, not my heart. I knew that I tended to binge on days I did not exercise, so I exercised early in the day. I also realized that I needed a better daily…

Under Armour coldgear, a flipbelt, compression pants, and a Polar M400. Heaven!

You don't say what your current fitness level is, but I'll assume that you're a beginner. 1. Start with something easy, like walking. Just do what you can and try to increase speed and/or distance daily. 2. Make sure you get up and move throughout your day. Even if it's just to walk outside to get the mail, for example. Be…

Awesome! Better be careful about spreading the word, though. Some of the 'dudes' out there might get jealous and be wanting their own TOM! ;)

Go get it! You have the best reason I've ever seen to lose weight!

Fear is your problem. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Seriously, are you going to let a bag of Cheetos have so much power over you that it controls your life?

Thank you all. I had commented on his food diary. I said, "pizza and beer, eh?" I'm all in for the whiner thing!

Don't wear clothes from K-Mart if you want to look good in a selfie or otherwise.

I had forgotten about that!

Don't feel bad about Zumba. I'm at my goal weight now, but I have zero coordination. Every time I've done Zumba I feel like a clumsy ox. Elliptical machine would be great for you. Weights too, as others have suggested, and get a heart rate monitor too. Your burn sounds pretty low. I think you're burning much more than that.

It's not about the lifting. You're changing and he's threatened by that. The next thing you know you'll be wanting to vote, drink, smoke, maybe have a career, or, God forbid, wear pants!

Under boobs. Absolutely.

I'd head to the ER. BP meds are not something to mess around with. I'd make sure it wasn't life threatening.

I started running when I was 53. I had always hated it and was never good at it. An impromptu trot on the treadmill got me started, and now I'm a bonified runner. I say go for it!

Yes, it was good to see the Dolphins win yesterday, especially against "Da Bears."
