I'm not trying to bash anyone either. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I want a book to explain to him the basic principles of working out with what he is already doing. When I looked up that book, it was saying about how it teaches you why free weights are best, etc. Maybe they are. I don't know, I didn't read the book.…

I have seen some pretty buff guys in using the machines. And Planet Fitness isn't for people who want to bulk up that much... He is a beginner. I'm not saying he will never use free weights. But to me free weights are much scarier than the machines that have the directions clearly on them.

Thank you! I should have said, he more uses the machines not the barbells. :/

Thank you everyone! I have researched and my doctor is aware of me limiting my salt intake. Also thanks for the opinion on Premium. I will have to try turning my phone sideways or borrow my brothers computer. I hardly use a computer now that my phone does almost everything haha. I plan on eating a lot more whole foods.…

Thank you! It is saying to change anything but my sodium I need the premium. I might just try it for a month and see how I like it.
-
Aha! Thank you! I don't know why I was thinking sodium was not one of the options to track. IS there a way to change how much for my goal? I didn't see that on there.

I have that! I usually try to eat more veggies or stuff that takes awhile to eat during these times. Andof course drink more water ha-ha.

I am going to be doing this for life. Days I do poorly, sure they're going to happen. But this is a definitely a lifestyle change for me. I'm only 24 and have been obese as long as I can remember (I can not remember being under 230). I have way too many health problems relating to my weight. If I keep going like this, I…

My ex boyfriend... who I met like twice at the time, said it over the phone. Broke up with me over the phone too. I still agreed to be friends with him and when we saw each other in person again he threw out the "I love you" card then too. My response? "Don't start that sh** again!" Hahaha. The look on his face was…

I agree that maybe you need to increase your allowed calories for now. I had mine set for a 2 pound weight loss the first few times I tried MFP, which kept me at around 1500 calories. I couldn't do that, I switched it to a 1.5 pound loss and am now eating almost 1800 calories a day. Those few hundred calories have helped a…

Good advise! I wasn't going to let it get me down if I did gain... my curiosity just gets the best of me sometimes lol

My boobs are only a large B, small C now! I've been down to 230 before and they actually filled out the C cups better. I don't know if that's what will happen this time or not but I don't really care. I don't see my boobs that are already small going very far lol! But if they do, it's fine because I'm known by my big booty…

Thanks! I accepted yours too :)

Thanks! I sent you a request! :)

I'm sorry, I thought that implied I knew it had to do something with my diet lol... like I said though, sauce has caused it but never for this long. Anyway, glad we both have a better understanding now of what I meant and sorry for any confusions.
-
Thank you for all of the replies. I am definitely not pregnant lol but maybe it will be a good clue to look for in future years? Lol. I will look more into magnesium and other ideas as to what may help. Maybe it is just more drastic from my diet change and will go away in a couple of months, hopefully! Thank you all again!
-
I never said it wasn't relating to something I ate. I make my own sauce and it has never caused this much of an acidic feeling or for this long so I thought maybe it could be from something else, and apparently I was right! Thank you.
-
P.S. Sorry this is so long. Another thing about me is I tend to talk a lot! Lol
-
Thanks! I don't have health insurance right now. I know my dad gets bad acid reflux. Mine usually doesn't last this long, mostly if I eat saucy spaghetti sauce like foods (which I have in the past couple of days), then it goes away over the next meal or so. But probably since my diet is changed now and the spaghetti sauce…

Awesome! Not a little success, a major success in taking the first steps to a new, healthier you! Keep up the great work!

I love giving & receiving support from my MFP friends! I am on here like 50 times a day! I have over 100 pounds to lose before I reach my goal, and then I will be reevaluating to see what I want to do from there. I will send you a friend's request, and anyone else can add me as well. :)

I don't have any "go to" healthy meals yet but one that I used to make when I lived on my own was boneless, skinless chicken (very low fat) that I squeezed lemon juice onto. Put it in the oven until done and served with some canned carrots or another type of veggie... hmm, I may need to make this for my family lol! Almost…

Everyone is different but I'd say most would agree with me when I say fully restricting things is a bad idea. MFP will give a certain amount of calories to eat depending on different factors about you and how much you want to lose in a weeks time (you should make sure you are picking a healthy weight loss amount, don't…

I have 104 pounds to lose until my major goal of 180. After that, I will reevaluate and see what happens. I don't remember ever being in onederland... I've been overweight my entire life. My biggest concentration right now is on logging my foods... I used to hate it! Lol. This is the longest I have stuck with it (day 5)…

I don't mind announcing it online where no one knows me. I don't mind telling my family, or people of similar weights. I have recently told my 2 best friends (who are pretty much really my only friends lol) because wanted to be honest about how bad my weight is. I always get told I don't look like I weigh as much as I do.…

I eat 2 eggs, over easy with 2 pieces of toast and butter spread lightly on the toast. It keeps me very full for several hours. I drink a glass of water while it's cooking so that probably helps. Also I have to eat my eggs a certain way so it slows me down, so I take about 15-20 minutes to eat it. Right now I just use…

I can' t do that... too many other junk food loving adults live in this house with me. Luckily I am pretty good at resisting temptation, at least most of the time. I can definitely see how that would help but it just isn't an option for me, unfortunately :(
-
No, that doesn't matter for me. I eat dinner and then I want to eat more anyway. I just have to suck it up and try to break the habit of always munching on something, like some of you guys have said. Thanks again everyone!

I am reaching for anything and everything. The other day I made a hamburger, loaded it with veggies and no bread - it fit in my calories! Yesterday I grabbed popcorn. I think what I'm going to do is just keep saving a few hundred calories from the day for my night time snacking and making sure I don't eat more after that…

Thank you all so much for the ideas/suggestions. I live in a house with 4 other adults who are all obese. Simply "not buying" the fatty foods won't keep them out of my house. For example, the other day boxes of Twinkies were on sale for like 75 cents so my mom had to buy like 15 boxes of them. Wouldn't be so bad if my…
