Eat what you want!

From MayoClinic.org: You may have no obvious physical signs or symptoms when you have binge-eating disorder. You may be overweight or obese, or you may be at a normal weight. However, you likely have numerous behavioral and emotional signs and symptoms, such as: Eating unusually large amounts of food Eating even when…

Because it's no one's business but my own. Because I struggle with Binge Eating Disorder and don't need public shame on top of my private shame. Because I only answer to me, and keeping it private means I will be honest with myself and log everything truthfully, even when I'm ashamed to see it. I don't understand other…

Don't be pedantic. You know she means added sugars.

I dig you! I feel you! I'm jealous of your Peace Corps experience! You strike me as extremely bright and you seem like a lot of fun. I'd love to have you as a buddy! We're all in this weight loss shiz together!

Germs move through the air when you breathe. Please be considerate of others. This is how illness spreads.

More coffee.

Not true, I have a smoothie with these ingredients every day and have never experienced what OP has described.

Be sure to grind your flax seeds before adding them to your shake/smoothie, otherwise your body does not absorb the nutrients. Chia seeds are fine as-is, though.

I am a binge-eater and sugar addict. I just found this site and love it. I'm only on Day 2 of the "Dump Sugar" plan, which means the cravings haven't really geared up yet since my last binge. It's going to be so, so difficult, but I just can't live this way anymore. Maybe this site can help you too! Good luck to us all in…

You are amazing! Your words and story actually have me tearing up. You are such an inspiration, and even though I don't know you, I am soooo proud of you!

Feel free to add me! I have a 2.5-year-old and an 8.5-month-old. I am already almost 20 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight and the lightest I've ever been as an adult! (Day 237 of logging and 39.6 pounds lost!)

There is emerging evidence that sugar is as addicting as cocaine. In my two second Google search, here's one scholarly article supporting the hypothesis of sugar addiction: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235907/

I'm 7 months postpartum. I weighed myself at 4 weeks postpartum and was 175. As of yesterday, I am down to 138! I am exclusively breastfeeding and eat 2,000 calories a day with an emphasis on fats and proteins. Staying well-hydrated is essential for milk production. I completely disagree with what the previous poster said…

Since you're into reading, check out The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. I'm not usually much for non-fiction, but I read this book a few months ago and have cultivated some awesome new habits. You seem introspective (which is how I would describe myself), so maybe this book will help to change your perspective for the…

I would also like to point out that I have not said "a calorie is not a calorie". I said that not all calories are created equally, and this is explained well in the article provided. Nuance is lost on many people, it seems.

It's fine if people disagree. This is not intended to be a peer-reviewed scholarly article. It is, however, common sense for sustaining good health and weight loss. Anecdotally, I feel better when I eat well, and am more likely to stick to my weight loss regimen. When I'm eating junk, even within my calorie range, I get…

The calories you consume will influence your satiety, energy levels (pertaining especially to blood glucose), and long-term health. Will you lose weight eating in a deficit while consuming only junk? Sure. Are you going to feel like crap and possibly suffer health issues in the long-term? Yes. All calories are not created…

I wear an abdominal binder at all times because I have diastasis recti from pregnancy. I was instructed to do so by my physical therapist. I hate wearing it, but it does support my abdomen and lessens the pain I have from an abdominal hernia that resulted from the diastasis.

I've never heard of shallot cakes. Fried onions? Yes, please.

Also, I was over 210 at my highest during pregnancy. Be patient and the weight loss will come! You should not even be trying to actively lose weight until you're 6-8 weeks postpartum. Good luck, and be well!

Are you breastfeeding? My little dude (my second) will be 6 months on the 29th. I weighed in at 175.2 (at 5'6") when I was 1 month postpartum. When I weighed myself this morning, I was 140.6! I aim for 2,000 calories per day and do not eat back breastfeeding or exercise calories, but I make sure to be well-hydrated (I aim…
