  • I've been having a similar conversation on another post. I too struggle to eat my calories every day, and don't eat my exercise calories, especially as I eat mainly veg everyday.
  • I am with you on this one. Last Friday I went to a Greek restaurant (I'm Greek, no way could I cut out the food!!!) and had a meze. I overate by soooo many calories. The next day I went for an 80 minute run to make up for it!! I don't want to be on a diet my whole life and as I'm pretty fit now I'd rather just exercise and…
  • SHBoss1673, I was only using de1amo's example of the beer and chocolate. I didn't do this myself, lol. Just thought I'd clarify as I didn't want you thinking I just started eating loads of junk and unhealthy foods, haha! When I first started using the message boards, my first ever experience on here wasn't a very good one.…
  • This is just my opinion, but before I started using the MFP message boards I did what I was told- low calorie healthy balanced diet, plenty of exercise. I purely used MFP to log my food using the iphone app. I was happy doing what I was doing, burning 900 cals, eating 1200. I did this for four months and lost 55lbs, a lot…
  • I bet it will all come naturally, and even if you did plan it and write out a 'script you would scrap it and speak from the heart. I say, pretend you're doing and just see what comes out. If you lik speak from the heart you'll figure it out. If you like to prep maybe just write down a few key points that you'd like to…
  • I just came on MFP to ask about the Zumba dvds and this thread was at the top of recent posts!! So I didn't need to ask, have just ordered my zumba dvds. Can't wait to start!! It's a shame there aren't any classes local to me
  • Upload them on photobucket, copy the link shortcut thingy, & then when you post them on here, change the IMG to img
  • Well I buy absolutely all of my food from Asda, and so I like the calories to be the same as on the labels. Obviously each supermarket can have different nutrition info, and some things are general, so aren't exactly the same, but I'm just fussy with it. Bananas are lower on here than what the labels say on my Asda…
  • I think it really depends on the food. I'm from the UK so most food on here is incorrect for me. I always make sure that I create the foods myself as I never just go by what MFP says. I have a calorie counting book that I carry around with me if the food I'm eating doesn't have the nutrition info on it. Or I google the…
  • It always depends on the person. Nobody burns exactly the same calories so you just can't rely on MFP to give accurate calories burnt. When I was heavier, I used to easily burn 900 calories if I ran for an hour. Now I burn less than 600 calories an hour. When I bought my HRM I found that the elliptical on MFP used to say I…
  • Why don't you weigh yourself with both scales, just to ensure that your old scales are definitely out 5lb out compared to your new scales. I don't know what time you usually weigh in, but sometimes I weigh myself in the morning & if I weigh myself again that evening/night I can be up to 7lbs heavier! Also, find a flat…
  • Take a deep breath & calm down. It's probably not as bad as it seems. I have sent you a message x
  • Hi Ushanya, I have a desk job, and I work out for at least an hour every day, as well as some walking that I really count towards my exercise. I still describe my normal daily activities and sedentary though. I personally think you can either describe yourself as lightly active/active, and not eat your exercise calories,…
  • In January (I got into this health kick straight after Christmas!!) I joined a gym and the first time I got on the treadmill I could barely run for 30 seconds. I was sooooo bad!! Anyway, I went back two days later and was able to run for a minute. The next time I ran for 3 minutes. The next time I ran for 5 minutes, then…
  • I have lost ALL of my weight so far by running (obviously combined with healthy eating) as it was the only thing I was good at and improved quickly at, so I wanted to stay motivated. I started by running for as long as I could-at first about 30 seconds at a very slow pace!!! Now I run 12 miles straight easily. I ran at…
  • You haven't blown it!! I overage on Friday by around 1500 cals, & it was weigh day today which I really didn't want to ruin. So yesterday I walked the half hour journey to the gym, burned 1500 then walked back home. I weighed in today & it wasn't affected as I lost 3lbs. With overeating you can always make up for it by…
  • Thank you so much everyone. I can't believe people are still commenting on this, & how kind you all are!!! I honestly nearly cried R reading through the comments!! I can't believe people think I'm an inspiration too. Good luck everyone, hope these pics encourage you all to succeed in your weight loss journeys. If I can do…
  • Thank you very much. And thanks for your encouraging posts on my wall (I don't get on the website much to reply as I mainly use the iphone app!!) Just so you know, I didn't lose any weight the last couple of weeks by the upping my cals experiment that I fell for, so this week I went back down to normal, and know that I…
  • Thank you so much for all your kind comments. I would just like to say, however far you have all come on your weight loss journey, please please please remember to take photos. Until yesterday, I only ever took one photo during my weight loss journey (my profile pic). I sooooo regret not taking any others. I felt as though…
  • I have only read the last page or so as I'm saving the whole thread for when I have more time to read it, but I honestly can't stop laughing. I've never heard of a natural hamburger before. I'm trying to imagine little hamburger shaped animals that have simply been killed & cooked as they are, kinda like a whole chicken.…
  • Lol you just did! Bump
  • Hey everyone, Wow I didn't know this group existed. I am definitely joining! Will post properly later x
  • I keep a 1.5L bottle of water on my desk right next to my computer screen, and tell myself I have to finish it before lunch. When I'm about to eat my lunch I refill the bottle and make myself finish it before I leave work. It really works for me during the week, but then I struggle to drink enough at the weekends!! I need…
  • Wiseg2 well done!! At first I used to make myself exercise but now I love it, it's become second nature to me. It really makes the losing weight part so much easier. Thank you for your kind compliment also. Ms_Natalie, maybe I should have chosen my words more carefully!! I totally understand that some people have genuine…
  • I would recommend a polar. I personally think they are the best. I have an F4 which is girly & perfect for me. I'm not sure how much they are in the US but they are definitely worth it.
  • I found that wherever tried to convert my weight it woud convert it wrong as like ddubsgirl4life says, it uses decimals of 10 rather than 14. I just do everything in lbs on here now. You get used to it. I'm around 8 stone 8lbs now, so if I want to work it out I just go 14 x 8 = 112, then add the 8, which is 120lbs- simple.…

  • Your boyfriend should be a bit more supportive!!! Why don't you get him to go to the gym with you? That's what I did! I have to get up at 5am eveyday to get to work for 7:30am (It takes nearly 2 hours to get in!!). I finish work at 4:30pm and go straight to the gym on Mon/Wed/Fri. I arrive at 6:15pm and by the time I…
  • I first aimed for a weight that I thought I was slim and toned at when I was that weight around 5 years ago, which was 133 lbs, but when that weight was approaching I realised I needed to lose a bit more. So I reset it to 119, which again I revised when I was approaching that weight. Now I've decided on around 107-112 lbs.…
  • Snow white, this concerns me a bit as your goal weight is less than mine, and I am very short with a naturally small frame. If you are 170cm, then your minimum weight for this height should be 50.3kg at the very least. Mirander Kerr has a lovely figure and is nice and curvy. I'm sure if you get down to 47kg you will be a…
