There is always a way to exercise!! No excuses!!!

Yesterday I was feeling really guilty as I it wasn't a gym day and I sat on the sofa watching tv for a couple of hours, which I rarely do. The whole time in the back of my mind I was thinking that I could have gone for a run or done a dvd. Anyway, I went upstairs, and I found myself running back down again. Then up and down again. I then quickly put my heart rate monitor on and my trainers, and ended up running up and down the bottom step for 20 minutes. I burned 200 calories in this time and was dripping with sweat. I will certainly be doing this again when I want to quickly burn some calories in future.
Just though I would share this with you, as I'm always saying that there is always a way to exercise. No excuse is good enough for me. People who make excuses aren't ready or serious about getting fit and healthy. Or they are just plain lazy. That person used to be me, but now I'm constantly finding ways to burn more calories. I even stand up pointlessly as I know I'm burning more calories than if I'm sitting or laying down!!

Good job! Your hard work really shows. You look amazing!
Today I made myself do a workout DVD even though I was feeling really lazy. I feel so much better now. Keep up the good work!0 -
Excellent motivational Post! Well Done you!
However...some people do have genuine reasons for not exercising...I have been diagnosed with tendonitis of the achilles tendon and i'm in agony. Even basic stretches are pulling on it and upper body work outs are still irritating it =( I am so looking forward to it healing and being able to exercise when ever I want....this is the 2nd week of not exercising and I can't even take the dog out for a walk....I'm soooo miserable lol...
Hope your post encourages many others to bite the bullet and fit in a little extra exercise today!
Once again, well done....200 calories in 20minutes is fantastic :flowerforyou:0 -
Wiseg2 well done!! At first I used to make myself exercise but now I love it, it's become second nature to me. It really makes the losing weight part so much easier. Thank you for your kind compliment also.
Ms_Natalie, maybe I should have chosen my words more carefully!! I totally understand that some people have genuine excuses (I call these reasons rather than 'excuses' though. My mum has a slipped disc in her back so cannot exercise. I meant lame excuses that aren't valid reasons! Mine used to be that I had a bad knee & had trouble breathing. But turns out it was because I was simply overweight & unfit. I no longer have those problems. Another excuse is "I don't have room" or "I don't have the time". Not good enough!!
Good luck with your weight loss,I hope you heal soon & can get back to exercising. Have you tried swimming? Maybe give it a go, start off gently as you heal x0 -

Oh, I knew you weren't having a pop at genuine reasons chick....I was just venting my frustration at not being able to exercise. I'm seriously considering swimming and thinking about going this afternoon...many people have advised me to start swimming. So maybe, my initial reason was a little excuse...whoops x lol x
Have a great day and keep up the fantastic work xxx0
