  • Ok I see. the reason it didn't change because the app wants to make it 1200 calories. I manually changed it to 1500 and when I did the guided set up, it was changed to 1200. It was already 1200 , that's why I didn't see it change. I see what you're saying about caloric intake being related to activity. I have become…
  • Everything in moderation! So go ahead... enjoy your diet coke. I know I do. I use splenda. Daily. 2 in my coffee in the morning and 2-4 more during the day for herbal tea and homemade iced tea. and one packet on cereal if i have that. I've been using it for years, and i've always lost weight while using it.
  • I'm about to make my dinner. I have 600 calories left. I'm thinking my normal chicken avocado salad on a bed of greens and veggies. Veggies will be: tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, zucchini, onion, carrot. Maybe some corn. (I have a couple ears I have to use up). I'm starving tonight!!!
  • I, too have a public diary. What good is accountability if you don't share what you eat? I do snack before bed sometimes and I haven't added it in but it hasn't affected my weight loss. I haven't hit my first plateau yet either. I've logged almost everything tho and closed out my food diary every night for 6 weeks now.
  • Just cutting my calories to 1200 and walking to and from work. (8 miles/week) I lost 1 pound in 3 days. No potatoes needed!! I had 7 oz of fish last night!
  • This morning: 3 egg omelet with 1 cup spinach and 1/4 cup part skim mozzarella. And my regular coffee. 454 calories but I walk to work so subtract 150 calories. I work 1-5 today so I ate a big breakfast. And will have a small dinner.
  • 16 oz coffee with 1/2 cup (diluted) while milk (so really 1/4 cup). 2. tbsp international delight flavor and 2 Splenda. I have never eaten breakfast as it makes my sugar drop by 11 -12 pm or I am just starving and I get light headed. So the coffee or tea fills me up and I eat lunch around 12-1 pm. Sometimes even 2 pm.
  • If I did that I'd just have a massive migraine. And that would have to be drank/drunk/drinked over the course of the day. Drinking even a gallon at once will cause water toxicity. Which can result in death.
  • Just like many others said, there is no magic quick weight loss without health problems. It's real simple math: burn more calories than you eat and you'll lose weight. Figure your BMR--the amount of calories you burn sitting on your @$$ all day. Then eat less then that. For example: if your BMR is 1800 calories, you would…
  • Seriously the best answer in this whole thread. Goddammit.
  • What if you're a beginner runner, say starting the C25K program? I do plan on going back outside once it warms up again, but would like something for the winter if I"m going to lose 30lbs by april
  • @Billsica: the road doens't work if it's snowing/raining/cold/icy. The gym doesn't work if you don't have a car and don't live in a city. Sometimes a treadmill is the best option. We were very lucky here on long island and it was in the 40's and 50's all week so I was able to go out, but it's raining/sleeting/ right now…
  • Thanks for this thread! I am thinking of buying a treadmill as well. I think I may have found one and for anyone here who is very budget minded and may live in a small place http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym-Trainer-410-Treadmill/17164498?findingMethod=rr I just posted on FB asking all my "friends" about it, as I don't…
  • You mean I'm walking 16 miles/week for NOTHING?!?! In the COLD?? lol ;)
  • I don't eat/drink any of that, oh yay ps-- what's #5? Is it so horrible you can't post it? lol
  • Oh look at that! Didn't see the PDF-- thanks! :) 50 calories in turkey! Oooh I can build my own sandwich now--- too bad they didn't have a true "build your own sandwich" w/ calorie counts like domino's has for their pizza In case anyone is interested: http://www.subway.com/Nutrition/Files/NutritionValues.pdf Now my next…
  • Oh well, THERE you go! haha Well I got 439. That seems doable. Except the calories on the website is NOT what it is in the store ( or printed on the napkins).... siiiiiiiiiiiigh The footlong turkey says it's 496 but in the store it's 560 ! oy vey.
  • I do have high blood pressure AND I forgot to take my pill today but I'm not particularly worried about salt, I was more worried about the calories. If one slice is indeed 50 calories, I just saved 200 calories and still get protein. :) @wiffe: 9 grain whole wheat.
  • Just found a discrepancy on the Subway site. If I chose the Veggie delight and choose 9-grain wheat footlong, all veggies no condiments or extras, the calories are 382. If I chose the salad, all veggies , no condiments, the calories are 324, which would lead you to believe the bread is only 58 calories. However, If I chose…
  • Popcorn!!! Use powdered sugar as a topping (sort of like kettle corn) I make "real" popcorn on the stove w/ olive oil. I measure out some powdered sugar (heck you could prob use splenda if you wanted!), I spray popcorn w/ non-stick spray and use a mini stranier to evenly distribute the powdered sugar. 10 cups popped (about…
  • I just started using MapMyWAlk because I know am a proud owner of an iPhone, (haha) and MMW definitely differs from MFP. MFP was more than MMW, so I tend to go w/ MMW since it takes into account average speed, elevation (I live in a very hilly area-- north shore of central Long Island) I only used MFP last year and it…
  • I"m very detail oriented, so I try to put EVERYTHING in MFP. I will spend hours doing the math to make sure it's right. 99% of the time. ;-) Sure I"ve ommitted a few things here and there, nothing major, maybe 5-10 calories or whatever. I"m not worried. For the most part I'm honest enough whereas the "fibbing" won't affect…
  • You're not the only one!! I just worked out tonight, walked/jogged a total of 4 miles. I KNOW I won't lose the weight immediately, but you know I"m going to weigh myself in the morning! lol I lost 33 lbs last year and my normal workout days were 3 of the 4 days (Thurs-Sat). I'd lose the weight by Tuesday. I'm a detail…
  • Mine NEVER GOT BIGGER when I gained the 50lbs over the 14 years. NEVER!! The only time they got bigger was when I was pregnant! They were at least "perky" before I had my son, then they DEFLATED! I kid you not! They're sagging more than they EVER DID! My son is 10 years old. I was 20lbs overweight when I got pg. Gained 32…
  • Absolutely amazing !!! My goal is a size 8. I was almost a size 18 before, and a (tight) 12 now. (gained back 6-7 lbs..poop). I have 25 to go for my goal. You are TRUELY an inspiration!!!! (PS--i'M 5'1!) (pss- I'm also worried about lose skin, esp. my stomach. I gain it all in my stomach... (just like Rosie ODonnell said…
  • Wow, we're all in the same boat! ;) I am 5'1" and was 150 when I got pregnant NINE YEARS AGO!. Went up to 182, lost 10 lbs only from having my son (he was 6.6 and all the other junk, lol). Cut my 55 hours in half, gained the 10lbs back and have been 180 for 9 years! I FINALLY lost that 32 lbs this year. My ultimate goal is…
  • Ok, here's another pic of me.... The local "Patch" website did an article on the store where I work back in May I think and they just did another one last week. Granted I had already lost 12-18 lbs in the first pic, and total 32 in the second. I can see it more in my stomach and my "figure" than in my face. Gosh I'm stuck…
  • that is just totally awesome! You look fantastic! Congrats on the running too! How did you get past your plateau? I'm at one for 2 months now.... and I have 20 lbs to go by Christmas! I have no money so joining a gym is out, and so is buying any exercise equipment. Keep up the great work, you should be proud of yourself--…
  • [30 pounds = amount of cheese an average American eats in a year]] NOT ANYMORE! ;) That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing that!
