Appreciate your comments and thanks for the advice. Tbh, I do have rather large legs (mainly muscle) due to a long time mountain biking comptetively, but I have started adding weighted squats and leg press into my routines, I just don't want to dedicate another routine to purely leg work outs and on the advice from the…

I currently train in Kenpo, Kick Boxing and Tang Soo Do, but due to travelling around a lot in my previous career I have tried my hand at a few things. Funnily enough though, a good friend of mine who is female loves jujitsu and trains with a fairly tough mma gym near me and competes regularly but even though she is well…

I have been fortunate to have trained with GM Fred Adams (Great British Hapkido Founder) which was a humbling experience, especially when a 67 year old man (at the time I met him) put me, a 21 year old, on my *kitten* with ease without even breaking his instruction to the rest of the class. That was 15 years ago and even 2…

I train basically 6 times a week, but this includes 6 weight sessions, 2 body combat sessions and 2 martial arts sessions. However, on Tuesday, which is technically my day off I teach martial arts for 2.5 hours, but teaching I don't find physically demanding so do not class it as exercise really.

Uk here too, W-S-M to be exact, feel free to add, log daily, dairy should be open and relatively new here.
-
Relatively new, but trying to log everyday. Diary is open and I will be as supportive to anyone that requires a friendly nudge or an aggressive poke to keep them on track.

Cheers, makes sense to me, therefore I can leave my settings at sedentary. :)

I always go to the gym on my own, none of my friends are remotely interested in keeping fit. Plus it is a very small gym and due to my working hours, start work too early to go before hand (they are closed) and finish work late so it is alway busy when I get there. So basically I stick my head phones in, do my thing (I…

Not sure I can answer this as I am also looking for an answer as I have set myself to sedentary as I work in an office and pretty much stay sat all day. However, my week of working out is the following: - 6 times a week at the gym including 10 - 20 mins of easy cardio to warm up followed by 50 minutes of heavy lifting…

In my opinion being a great cook doesn't mean that your fat is 'better' than anyone else's or justifies why you are overweight. If you look at the multitudes of TV chefs out there, the majority of them are not fat, for example: - Jamie Oliver - Gorden Ramsey - Heston Blumenthal (one of the top chefs in the world too) -…

On the point regarding going to the gym and feeling uncomfortable, believe me, no one at the gym is really bothered about what you are doing, most are interested in their workout and nothing more. Sure it is easier to go together or with a friend, but there will always be the times when your partner or friend can't/won't…

It does seem high, but I do think MFP overestimates calories burnt as my 'big' exercise day is Thursdays where I do around 85 mins in the gym (some cardio, mainly weights), 45 mins body combat and then 60 mins kick boxing. Even though the latter 2 are relatively high intensity, I do not think that I burn over 2000 calories…

I was always fit and healthy, even when I was diagnosed diabetic I was trim and very fit. However, over the last 3 years my relationship fell apart, I ended up on insulin on top of the tablets and had 18 months fighting for access to my daughter. In that time I piled on the weight and never really noticed until I spotted a…

My health was motivation for me, having moved onto insulin for my diabetes I realised I needed to sort myself out diet and exercise wise. I started off just doing body weight exercises at home and lost 18kg and after 1 year on insulin my specialist took me off of it and I realised how important exercise was to me. With…

I struggle to eat when I am sick, really don't like putting food into a churning stomach, difficulty for me is in beng diabetic I have to eat, so normally I try and eat dry crackers with a hearty vegetable soup.

36 here and feeling great, the fittest I've been for a long, long time, although, have never considered myself hot lol.

Fairly new here and from just outside weston-super-mare, anyone can feel free to add me :)

I wouldn't be too concerned, I regularly go between 3 - 4 times a day, went to the doctors about it as I was concerned and after checking me out and taking a sample all he said was that I had a healthy digestive system. Just obviously watch out that it isn't too runny and that there is no blood in it etc.

Watch most sci-fi and fantasy stuff. Have an extensive book collection of mainly sci-fi and fantasy stuff alongside a rapidly growing selection of the Black Library stuff. Watch anime and have a wide eclectic taste in comic books. Also love to game both console, PC and tabletop. Used to play and paint games workshop stuff,…

Hi, from Bristol originally, now living just outside Weston Super Mare. My diary is always open, although full of relatively boring food I'm afraid.

Can definitely agree with both suggestions made. In my experience when I returned to the gym it was my triceps that were just really hurting me for several days after training, but as mentioned once warmed up through training the pain went away and now when I train, i only occasionally have slight aches if at all and I…

Have done 2 rounds of insanity and loved it! Kick started my weight loss again and got me motivated. Now I am back at the gym I don't do any of the beachbody stuff religiously, but I still throw on an insanity work out if I fancy a blast at home.

Currently do 2 sessions of Body Combat per week at my gym, love it! Gets me sweating, improves my cardio and my flexibility and compliments my martial arts, although there are some things I have to modify as I would never do them in my martial arts training the same way as they do them on combat. Although sometimes I also…

Great post and answered some questions I had whilst confirming thoughts I had also had regarding food. Thanks!

Hi, Seperated father to a little girl from Bristol. Joined this for inspiration after losing 18kg and stalling. Now I've lost a further 4kg, got addicted to the gym and to body combat as well as still attending martial arts classes and teaching Kenpo. Good luck to all.

Couldn't agree more, great post!

Many thanks for the quick advice, very much apprecaited. Just found out there is a store near my gym that purely sells sports supplements, so I am going to pop and see them tonight and see what they recommend, but thinking that which ever one I settle for out of a MRP or Whey protein powder there is obvious benefits to be…
