Odd one for me as my trainer at the gym has asked if I will train with him twice a week, one day following my program and one where I will teach him how to box. Happy to do so but I asked him why and his answer was he needed to get fit again and follow my example. Odd mainly because it's due to him that I have lost the…

Actually have a few at the moment: - Realised I have just hit the 18 month mark of consistently working out - Being told by the doctor that due to the muscle mass around my knee I prevented the injury I picked up on the weekend being a much more serious one and that I should heal up fully within 2 weeks instead of the…

One of mine was simply because I was not controlling my diabetes well and not eating regularly or properly balanced meals. This resulted in nearly every afternoon experiencing a hypo which in turn caused me to become ravenously hungry and therefore I would binge on whatever I could, eating far too much and a lot of the…

I have been doing 3 training sessions on a Thursday (Weights, body combat and kick boxing) and 3 on a Sunday (Body pump, body combat and spin) for a while now and got approached to take part in a spinathon for charity next Saturday. My NSV is that I signed up and that I am actually looking forward to it too. Would never…

Getting called bigman at the gym, but in a positive way. Odd in a way but definitely made me feel good.

Only thing I have been told in the past is the feeling of heavy legs can be attributed to over training, so maybe take a rest day and see if you feel better then.

Again, I agree, I don't honestly know once I am down to that percentage but on a guesstimate I think to get down to approx 12 - 14 % body fat I would need to lose at least another 10kg (including LBM as well as fat) which would still calculate out as 27.9 on the scale so overweight. To get into the top of the healthy scale…

Love bread and jealous of all you that eat it regularly. I tend to avoid it as for some reason makes me really bloated and always feel uncomfortable after eating it. Although, never cut it out completely as I do love it, in fact I had 2 awesome bread rolls with my chips last night

Completely agree with your last statement. I was shocked being told I had 18% bodyfat (approximately at least) as I think I am still at that stage where I don't see my weightloss in the mirror (mindset not catching up with what my eyes are seeing I guess) and I still don't consider myself heavily muscled although I have…

My NSV recently: Going from xxl T shirts to M, was quite a surprise when I tried one on for a laugh and found it fitted well. Realising my recently purchased 36" jeans are already really loose around my waist, so I have either the option of another hole to punch in my belt (will be the 7th), buy a new belt or get 34" jeans…

That I would gain stretch marks around my chest and biceps as I went from losing fat to gaining muscle. Still wouldn't change though.

I think you may be able to lose about 1kg per week to be honest if you take your diet and exercise seriously. If your gym has a handbike you could try that or see if your knee can handle using a cross trainer. Plus you could do some upper body resistance work too if your knee cannot handle any strength training. Just my…

Got told I was looking powerful by a friend in the gym, very chuffed, never had that before, plus I really think I need to buy a new belt as I have now just punched a fifth hole into the one I use for work.

Had my measurements done again and I am now a 34" waist (down from 44) really chuffed then found out that I couldn't fit into a 34" pair of jeans due to my quads being too big, but now due to muscle than fat. Happy with a 36" pair to be fair as the strength training is definitely paying off. Also down form a 2xl size…

Have to say that even though I agree that the calories burned during weight training are difficult to measure, they are definitely significant and definitely more that 1 calorie. My weight training sessions last for approximately 80 mins, and especially when I am on an edurance training phase my height rate is high and I…
