Special K cracker chips, an oz of cheese, greek yogurt, string cheese, special K chocolate cereal, fruit. There are lots of good things. :) So glad you took the step and joined us!

Chili is pretty inexpensive and can be made in the crock pot.

I have the Brooks. Love them. They are good for arch support and very light.

I recommend Lindor Truffles. They are individually wrapped so it's easier to have just one. They come in quite a few flavors (milk, dark, mint chocolate <--my fave, white chocolate, peppermint, etc.) They are a chocolate "Shell" with a smooth almost melty center. Yummy!

^^This. The foods listed will give you more calories for less food. Maybe after your workout, have some toast with PB instead of cereal. Or a tofu (or other protein) smoothie. I know sometimes I get too busy and forget to eat, but my body pretty much lets me know when i've gone too long (dizziness).

I think as long as it fills you up, great. I can't eat eggs in the morning, they just make me hungrier. I had to switch to tofu protein shakes. They keep me full a lot longer. You could try oatmeal for those cold mornings. :)

I usually rest from the gym or hard core exercies 2 days too. I do try to be active on those rest days, light cleaning, walking around, shopping, stuff like that.

I train "fasting" though not on purpose (I go at 5 am and just can't eat that early) a couple days per week. But what I do find is that if I work out super hard on empty, I end up with 'sour stomach' which sucks in the worst way, so I end up drinking some milk or something before I go usually. Also, there is no way I could…

I'm in!

She was probably hungry haha. Don't let those peeps get you down. BTW, can I get that pineapple whip recipe? Sounds yummy!

I agree with Ready2Rock. Does this happen daily? If so, definately eat more calorie rich foods. If it's only like once a week but you meet your requirements usually, I wouldn't worry. I look at my weekly totals to determine if i'm eating enough (or too much). A couple days per week are my very high calorie burn exercise…

Do you track progress in other ways? I have found that even though the scale hasn't budged, I still have lost inches. Earlier in my journey, I had ZERO loss for 4 weeks, but I went down a pants size during that time. Looking at your diary, I might suggest eating a higher protein breakfast. I used to only eat stuff like…

Maybe try a "mono-kini". They make some pretty cute ones and it would take the emphasis off that area. Otherwise, wear a bikini and be proud. I think people will notice your rockin' bod, not your stretch marks!

I don't think it's necessary to exercise every day. I usually go by my weekly calorie intake to judge progress, not my daily. I usually exercise 4-5x per week as well but I don't feel too bad going a little over on the days I don't exercise as long as I stay under my total calories for the week. Also, I noticed when I…

Agreed.

I crave both, especially together! Salted chocolate anyone? edit: and of course, we must not forget about BACON! The king of salty foods!

1/2 c milk (or whatever liquid you want) 1 small or 1/2 medium banana 1/4 c plain greek yogurt 3-4 oz tofu 1 c frozen strawberries 1/2 t vanilla 1 T unsweetened cocoa powder 1 T brown sugar Yummy. 369 cals, 20 g protein. You could lower the cals by not using milk. It makes a HUGE smoothie and I often share it with my…

Thanks everyone. I will keep it at sedentary for now. It just seemed to me that I wasn't losing like I should but once I averaged it out, it's actually 1.3 lbs per week which is good. I think I was just sad that the numbers didn't seem to be falling very quickly. I was losing in spurts, a couple pounds, then none, then a…

If you need the added butter or marg. to make it taste the way you like, go with the butter. It's so much richer that you could use 1/2 or 1/4 and it would taste better than the whole amount of margarine. Besides, I think margarine is yucky. I'm pro-butter til the day I die!

You can make hummus yourself for very cheap (A can of chickpeas, some garlic, and olive oil) and can customize it all you want. Eat it with fresh veggies (carrots and celery are very cheap) or spread on a wrap or bread. Peanut butter lasts a long time and is inexpensive. Tofu isn't very expensive and has a lot of uses (I…

Thaw it under running water, toss in a bit of olive oil then roast it in the oven. I like it mixed into casseroles like cottage pie, tuna with noodles, or pretty much anything. Steaming and adding lemon juice is another good way to go. I'm sure there are recipes out there for broccoli soup that are low cal as well. I Love…

I love sweets too. I do tend to make my own at home so I can control what's in them. Often you can cut the sugar down by as much as half and they will still be good. I especially love ice cream and do the same thing (I have the ice cream maker attachment for my stand mixer :)) If that doesn't work, I eat Special K…

I try to only eat back 40-70% of my exercise calories that they list here (try being the key word). I want to get a fitbit or something, but haven't gotten around to it.

Thanks for the help. So should I count my 15 minute walks during the day as exercise? I walk pretty briskly and do stairs.

Anyone out there with some help?

It seems to me she is forgetting that people are WAY less active today than they were "pre-1970s". Technology is wonderful but it has made us lazier. Sure the people hunting the wild boar are not going to worry about the calories, but that is because they probably don't spend 9 hours a day glued to a computer. That's my…

Asparagus (Steamed) is only 30 calories for an entire cup. I could eat POUNDS of it! Sprinkle some parm cheese on it and it's low calorie heaven!

What do you usually eat in the evening for dinner? What I usually do is make two extra servings of whatever I made and bring them for lunch for myself and my hubby. I don't have a problem eating the same thing two meals in a row but I understand how eating the same thing for a week gets boring. Sometimes when I make soups,…

I'm no doctor or anything, but maybe it has something to do with a type of "muscle memory"? Like your body "remembers" what it used to do and once you started back, it reverted, whereas your friend's body never learned how to do it in the first place. I would equate it to playing a musical instrument. If you learned when…

I like Brooks because I have bad arches. They fit like a glove. :)
