Beautiful walking weather here today!

You should definitely look for good books to listen to! I am an avid reader, but have just recently started listening to audiobooks when I walk. I teach high school, and my students are always reading books that I don't necessarily want to read for my own enjoyment, but all us teachers try to keep up with what the kiddos…

Nice little walk in the rain today! I'm a little chilled now but feeling accomplished.

Finally got a taste of some spring weather here today and enjoyed a nice walk in a state park nearby!

Need these in my life, thanks for sharing!

I'm in! Giving it another go in April after coming up short in March. Love the motivation this challenge gives me and am crossing my fingers that some better walking weather comes to us in Western New York soon! Another 8 inches of snow last night, yuck! Good luck to all this month!

I've been sidelined for over a week with a horrific bacterial infection. Boooooo... Feeling almost normal today, although still pretty tired. Am hoping to resume normal workout activity tomorrow, but now I'm wayyyy behind! Going to do the best I can for the rest of March, and will try for 100 again next month!

I started out by using the C25K app, but found it really distracting. I realized I'd rather kind of zone out and focus on my breathing or the rhythm of my feet than wait and listen for that voice to tell me when to run or walk. So I moved to my own system which was pretty much this: start out walking to warm up, run until…

Feeling accomplished that I hit the 30 mile marker today. Also, told a friend about this 100 mile goal and he was super impressed... Made me feel good about myself today! :)

The weather here is finally warming up a bit, but I'm looking forward to when the snow melts so I'll have a lot more options of where to walk! It was treadmill time today though! I'm loving this challenge, it's really keeping me motivated this month!

Not too shabby considering I was battling a tough cold for the latter half of the week. Still managed to squeeze in a few miles! Great job during Week 1 everyone!

Really wanted to try for 4 miles today but only managed 2. The dog was sick all night and kept me up for hours whining and having to go out so I was lacking energy all day. Boooo... At least he seems to be feeling fine now! And I was proud to get in a couple miles rather than zonking out on the couch after work, like I…

A friend of mine sent me this article the other day and I found the message very powerful! "How to Stop Giving a F What People Think" - http://lifehacker.com/how-to-stop-giving-a-f-ck-what-people-think-1530784365

My parents are out of town for the week and I'm doing the chores at their farm. Instead of driving there, this challenge motivated me to walk instead, just to add another mile to my ticker! It was darn cold... even wearing my cold weather under armour and carhartt and snowpants my face skin was numb when I got there! But I…

Looks like everyone is off to a great start! Keep up the good work, I love seeing everyone's progress!

Had a nice walk in the park today. It was a balmy 35 degrees F so getting outside felt great! I guess it's going to get cold again this week so I had to take advantage of the nice weather!

Thanks for clarifying! I count my steps everyday but for this challenge I have decided to only count actual, intentional "workouts" that I log on MapMyWalk. Some will be walks or hikes, and others will be jogging, since I am training for a 5k. I think doing it this way will motivate me to schedule more time to walk and…

Due to the current weather, mostly on the treadmill, which I am not a big fan of. When the snow finally melts I like to walk on a trail at my local state park. It's about 6 miles long around a lake, hilly, and paved for walkers or bikers. I also love to hike anywhere in the woods, on logging trails, hiking trails, or our…

This has always been a dream of mine! I constantly read blogs of those who are hiking the trail and hope to someday have the flexibility in my work schedule to do it myself. How exciting and motivating for you to have something that adventurous to be preparing for!

Hi I'm Lisa from Western New York. I love to walk and hike but have never tried to walk 100 miles in a month before. I'm excited for this challenge, especially as the weather gets nicer (soon I hope, it's downright blustery out there today!). I'm also training for my first 5k, so hopefully it's okay if I count my (very…

Count me in! Extra motivation is always helpful!

Hi everyone. Glad to have found this group as I am in a mild panic about the fact that I let my brother and sister-in-law peer pressure me into signing up for a Tough Mudder in July! Yikes! My brother did one last year, hated and loved it at the same time, and is now trying to spread the love (hate? ha). I'm excited to…

So glad you asked this! I'm currently training for my first 5k too and have been taking the approach of running as much as feels comfortable then taking short walk breaks. I'm not worried about time yet, just going the entire distance each time I train and trying to push myself as much as I can. I run sloooowwww so just…

Feel free to add me as well! I'm new to MFP and your struggle sounds very much like the one I have been dealing with. I have been successful with major weight loss in the past but have struggled lately with motivation and staying on track. I think building a solid support group around you is the #1 most important tool for…
